Hi Doug, super helpful, thanks! Just a technical question: @4:14 you’ve got relative market share along the x-axis. Then at 9:30 when you are assigning axis labels, you put relative market share as the y-axis label. Is that right?
Is there a way to match the formatting colour of the sphere to the cell where we have the name, my spheres are vey close together and difficult to distinguish. if i could auto colour them to match my product name it may make the cell more easy but I'm concerned I'll mix it up if i do it by hand. can it be done automatically
Hi kai yutaka, thanks for the comment! For Revenue, depending on your data, you'll have to pull that from either public source of the companies filings (SEC 10K) in the US or for equivalent government documents for non US companies.
thanks ! i have a question, what to do if the product circle falls in the middle of the graphic? means that assumely the middle point of market share is 1.5 and the market growth is 10... if my product has the same amount, what shall i do? thankyou
one ways is to get historical numbers from govt statistics and take a % from a organization historical number or jus find data from some consulting companies
Hi everyone, I have some problems with this matrix, object at the intersection of the line. May be prefer assign this object to one sector? Who can help me?
you'll have to find it from consulting org sources or based on past data do something like a regression analysis. See some forecast video for ideas here ruclips.net/user/DougHExcelsearch?query=forecast
@@DougHExcel thanks for the response. I saw a video where the market share was used to determine the growth in the market. The current year over previous year -1 *100.

LOL, until recently I hadn't realized that Mario updated his favorite way to tackle ED and it's a relief! Although what he previously suggested was pretty good, it was a real pain to follow... I just go'ogled the latest in Volpstein’s Thunderous Erections, it's so much easier and potent now!
Pfffffff... so adding the labels to each bubble is manual? Seriously? That's no problem when you have only 4 bubbles. I came to this video for a way to add labels to a chart with over 90 values. I really appreciate your tips, but I can't believe MS doesn't have a way to add labels directly to a bubble chart. Un-be-lie-va-ble
in Excel 2013, MSFT finally let you do it. Right click Add Data Labels and find the option to choose Values from Cells. Then select your descriptions from a range that is associated with the series.
That would be awesome... I'm using Excel 2016, I just don't find that option. Let me see if I understand, I click on "Add Data Labels", and it gives me what is in the Y axis as label. But then I don't find where can I tell Excel where to get the labels from
You won't believe this. This. is. not. available. in. Excel 2016. Damn you Microsoft. In this article: peltiertech.com/apply-custom-data-labels-to-charted-points/ they explain what you said, but if I go to my Excel I see: * Series Name * X Value * Y Value * Show Leader Lines * Legend Key The "Value From Cells" is not an option in Excel 2016
OK, it is now. I swear the option wasn't avilable, in fact I was copying the screen to send a report to the tech-support guys, but since I had deleted the chart, I recreated it with the total confidence it wasn't going to work, and then it appeared. Maybe sometimes ventilating in the Internet makes miracles???? Thank you, thank you very much

thx for the video, but how can we calculate the market share of the largest competitor?
Find the company total sales(revenue) and divided by the industry's total sales. Usually organizations have this data somewhere in research reports.
Thank you very much for this great effort

Thx for tips, i tryed with VBA but didn't work, I probably failed. Anyway thx for help
I have exactly the same problem. Unbelievable MS doesn't have a way to change the labels automatically in a series formed by (label, x, y, size)
