Don't worry if you have never created a Pivot Table before, I cover the basics of formatting your source data and creating your first Pivot Table as well. You will also get to see an add-in I developed named PivotPal that makes it easier to work with some aspects of Pivot Tables.

Jon, I taught for thirteen years before pivoting to data analysis and I must say that your delivery is better than so many teachers I worked with. There is a harmful belief that students are not learning because teachers are not animated (read: not enough of an entertainer) ...thank you for being a testament that good teaching is direct, thorough, and well-paced. Can anyone tell me how to match two data lists together in excel so the dates sit in the same rows?
eg. would need to excel to match dates and leave gaps on days there are no matches.

I recently started to learn the different functions in using a pivot table and adding charts for work. My boss is letting me take charge in creating analysis around different areas for our department. This was most helpful
This is , in my opinion, actually the best channel that I’ve found to learn this new functionality. I’ve watched other videos before I spontaneously fell on this one. Without mentioning names and I’m not saying that these people weren’t explaining well, but they just offer an Excel-folder that’s already completed with the stuff they show in their video and I obviously can’t work/learn with that while watching. Too bad. But this is a well-made video that explains everything in the necessary details and you get an Excel-Folder that YOU have to complete while watching. And this for free. Great job! 👍

I built a tracker using this video series a few years ago that became very popular at my job as a result, and that i still regularly maintain. Looking back now, it's amazing how much of this is superfluous by using Power Pivot and DAX to insert charts based off the data model. Nevertheless, I credit this video series with helping me learn what I needed to get me where I am today!

I have always been intimidated by PVs; avoided them at all costs and did the calculations the LONG WAY (obviously creating more work for myself). Your video clearly explains the "why" and "how" more effectively than the Excel course I took in college! The textbook was utterly useless and only covered three lessons.
