    Learn to make advanced excel hearts and turn int into a nn awesome dashboard to impress anyone. First, we'll make a Gantt chart, which will act as the project roadmap. Then, we'll make a table, where we can see the trendiness (sparklines) and conditional formatting (for the growth rates). In step 3, we'll make gauge charts, which tell su the satisfaction scores for employees and customers. In step 4, we'll make a budget vs actuals chart where we assess our expenses. Lastly, we'll make a waterfall charts to visualise our employee headcount change in the past year.

    Great tutorial video Kenji! I wish I had ran into your channel last year. We are currently transitioning all reporting from Excel to PowerBI & I am definitely interested in learning how to replicate this same dashboard - especially the gauges in PowerBI. Looking forward to watching your other videos!

      That's interesting, are you going to be doing all data cleaning and transforming in PowerBI/power query now, or will you just be using PowerBI for visualization? I wonder if a lot of companies are making this switch. I'm interested to hear your companies reasoning!

    @kenjiexplains I like the Gauge chart. Is there a way to change the gauge arrow so that the center of it points to the value rather than the trailing edge? It's a small thing but at the 0, 50% and 100% points it just looks a little 'off'. As the width is 2, logically deducting 0.01 from the 'point' value would give the arrows midpoint but, for a zero value (this works for every value except 0), Excel seems to add the 0.01 rather than deleting it.

    Great stuff but how do I create a gauge chart that occasionally has negative values? For example, the percentage change for a stock price for the day. Sometimes this will be positive and sometimes, if the stock is down on the day, this value will be negative. I'd like unchanged to be straight up with higher on the day to the right and lower on the day (and a negative value) to the left. Not sure if it's possible to make a slice of a pie chart with a negative value. Thanks.

    Question. As a Jr. Analyst...what's the importance of a dashboard and how do u maintain it??

    • @chrysanth267
      @chrysanth267 Год назад

      Your manager's job is to run your department, and they typically can't sit there and get intimate with the data like you can. A dashboard is an often automated tool that easily communicates your granular understanding of a topic to your manager, so they can make impactful decisions. No more running to you at at all hours with random questions about the numbers, now they can find the answer themselves in the dashboard you maintain.
      Try searching "dashboard maintenance", or something like that into RUclips.

    • @KenjiExplains
      @KenjiExplains  Год назад +2

      My bad! Basically the sum of all the ranges is 200%. So the 138% is 200%-2%-60%, where the 2% is the thickness of the line, and the 60% is the satisfaction score. Hope that makes sense.
