      Except it doesnt add any power, only maintains it at elevations above 5000’. Spend the same money on a 850 and a real turbo setup.

    • @fnatomagan
      @fnatomagan 4 года назад +4

      @@ChuckBeefOG It does at Power at higher elevations, you know where a "Summit" is meant to be ridden.

    • @ChuckBeefOG
      @ChuckBeefOG 4 года назад +2

      Franklin Natomagan It maintains the stock 165hp at elevations higher than a NA 850 would. So you will still have 165hp at elevation, not down to 135 like a NA motor.
      This set up doesnt add 1 single horsepower, it simply maintains it as you climb higher. A real turbo set up will make 250+ even if you are at sea level. This is a power maintainer, a Boondocker kit is a power adder. I am at 1500’ but we get 4’ of snow per year, unless you stay on the trail 121’s and 137’s dont cut the mustard so we buy 144 crossovers or mountain sleds. Would be cool to have a 200hp Summit here but this aint the sled.

    • @fnatomagan
      @fnatomagan 4 года назад +2

      @@ChuckBeefOG it has 30 more horsepower at elevation? Power added. Btw Bikeman already cracked the ecu and has a 200+ HP tune at all elevations.

    • @ChuckBeefOG
      @ChuckBeefOG 4 года назад

      Franklin Natomagan good news. I would still buy an 850 and put a Boondocker on. Same cost really. One year warranty is all you get on this one i heard so might as well do it right. Still glad to see OEM venture into the game tho.

    Geez, and I thought some of my sleds turbo noises got a little annoying after a bit. That bov/airbox/bypass valve/12 different valves and tubes and who knows what else is kinda annoying. That little turbo whistle sounds pretty good for a stocker though. Very cool...good work skidoo.

    Best thing about the new turbo? Pretty dang quiet. I'm sure the aftermarket can wreck that with a loud obnoxious "mountain can". Lol

    • @specforged5651
      @specforged5651 4 года назад +1

      Our turbo sleds are usually more quiet that the na sleds anyways. Isn’t I funny how years ago we had the loud as hell triple pipes with these tiny little silencers (sometimes none at all lol) that pretty much did nothing. We thought that was cool and that it meant our sleds go faster if they were louder.....right!? Haha my how things change. Now all our sleds do is run clean, quietly and all we hear are whistle and the bov. It will be interesting to ride though. I’ll get me chance Sunday to compared to our aftermarket stuff. Ya we run race fuel and a lot more boost, so I’m sure the really hard hitting power isn’t there, but have ridden plenty stockers with just a pump gas kit. We’ll found out in a couple days I guess. Good work ski doo....I’m proud of you, I have plenty of buddies who need to be on a stock turbo. As far as I’m concerned, if you can’t install the kit yourself and can’t fix anything....you have no business being on a turbo sled anyways. However, I know there are a lot of people out there with more money than brains and riding ability....I ride with several on occasion. This will be a perfect sled for them. Sorry, got a little sidetracked there. Lol

    Be interesting to see a dyno graph at 6000+ feet to see the difference through the RPM range. Do you feel the power everywhere or just full throttle?

    • @semlalagerol3262
      @semlalagerol3262 4 года назад

      A swedish company Oktan tested the sled and claimed that they felt more power down low compared to a naturaly aspirated 850, but the same power when full throttle (this was in sweden where the mountains range from 1000-3000 feet.)
      Bikeman performance just posted this video though showing the performance gains with the turbo.
