Yeah honestly that comment about this cartoon being made for kids ONLY really shows not only are they uneducated about what Disney was intending for his audiences at the time (NOT just for kids, heck maybe only for adults then), but also really shows how much animation is STILL under-appreciated not just in Hollywood but everywhere else in our society. Honestly, I just assumed that Mickey talking about abusing animals at the beginning of the "Turkey in the Straw" part in your Steamboat Willie dub was just you mocking horror adaptations. And then the cat showed up for him to abuse.
Also, I commented in that "chewing tobacco" comment chain, but I was at least trying to be funny there by combining what other people were saying with the joke from the dub.

That teacher obviously doesn’t know how comedy/humor works. It’s subjective, depends on one’s perspective and opinion on the subject. What they may not find funny may be funny to someone else and vise versa. Just because the teacher didn’t find it funny, that doesn’t mean that others who did don’t understand how comedy/humor works

He did go on a rant about communists putting his animators up to striking against him, but that was because he had a very corrupt company higher-up in his ear that convinced him that the red scare had invaded his studio to further their own ends, and Walt believed him because he was a very loyal person and was simply misled.
