Exactly, I hate it when people make him out as an evil dictator that enslaves sentient machines against their will. He has way more heart than British rail, people should see what British rail did.
Powerful editing here. You managed to make 11 minutes of 2 characters talking to each other interesting and wonderful. Clever way of giving purpose to Henry's special coal fix, which I always felt was rather unimportant in the grand scheme of things since it's irrelevant by the end of the next story!
Dude thank you!! I’m with you brother, it really did seem like it was all for nothing, and I’m sure it would feel that way for Henry more than anyone! I’m so pumped you liked it!!
Ey, the guy who recommended this in his pick of the week. I got to thank you mate, you're the one who's video convinced me to watch this after two foolish months of putting it off.
This is the real Fat Controller. Not a Tyrannical Dictator, he's a loving authority figure. He's a father to his engines and will see to their wellbeing whenever he can.
In all honesty though@@realchristian77010 all the stuff that Topham had to put up with Thomas (up until the grand chase) Topham had every right to be cross, derailing express coaches, causing countless amounts of properity damage, and dont forget ignoring the workers which led to the cavern collapse he had every right to be at his wits end, and what pushed him over the edge was (from his POV) Thomas running forwards with a train of LOADED AND FUSE IGNITED DYNOMITE and running towards his Newest steam engine Ryan, and so he cant be faulted when he (figuratively) Blew up at Thomas even though from Thomas (and our POV), Thomas was trying to get rid of fuse lit dynomite that Ryan (and Thomas by not telling Ryan about the bad coal) had accidentally lit and Ryan had gotten in the way of disposing of the dynomite
Poor Henry. Built with a small firebox to begin with. Stuck in a tunnel because of rain fear. Can never get enough steam. Gets Welsh coal to get better and then crashes due to ice and snow. Henry is expensive. You can't help but feel for Henry. Thank goodness for Sir Charles Topham Hat. Bless him. A beautiful adaptation to the Flying Kipper story.
Wasn't sir Topham Hatt the 1st who sent Henry to Crewe? He retired in 1954 as far as I know and this happened in 1935 as far as I know. During this time Charles was probably still studying. ( I cannot be bothered to open the IOS book but it is there....)
Every time we saw the Fat Controller’s face up close was a perfectly chosen moment. A technical marvel and an emotional masterpiece. You should be incredibly proud of this Will. Sincere and powerful. What I got from this was even better than the book. Loved hearing Isle of Dogs in there. Excellent choices all around, but the best choice was when you listened to your gut and said what you wanted to say. I hope you had fun doing this because I enjoyed this so very much. Bravo!
William, this is the best thing you've ever made. I am just FLOORED by the power it has! I use the word "film" really liberally to describe what people make in our community. Technically anyone who makes narrative driven videos is a filmmaker. But not everyone pushes the boundaries, and not everyone wants to. Not everyone aspires to make something moving or deeply immersive. There are so many talented people in our community, but being entirely honest, I can't call just anyone a "great filmmaker". You, Will, are a great filmmaker. We all know this scene. And hell, while the dialogue hear is wonderful, its not like you shook things up drastically with the story. What is utterly enthralling here is HOW you told it, and how you used film to heighten this moments significance and emotional impact in a way that can ONLY be done through film. I love the slow pace of this, you let the viewer take in every single detail. We see the taxi snowed in, the signal busted, the trucks sitting quietly off the rails waiting to be rescued, and James looking oh so forlorn as he cleans it all up. And I was sure that was all just to set the scene, and set the pace. No, that was the POINT of the video. It was all to set up a sudden and overwhelming change in Henry's mood and hopes. His relief is so striking and palpable that it floods into ALL his surroundings! The Fat Director decides, definitively at last, that he will not give up on him, and that Henry should not give up on life. He decides it is WORTH IT. And THEN the signal clangs to life! Then the taxi finally starts! And even James is relieved! Topham has two options here; he can cave to life's endless pressures, scrap his engines for cheaper ones and replace what is "broken"... Or he can fix it all. And fix it he DOES. The way the color and sound floods back into the world when Henry is finally convinced that he is, indeed, worth it... It's just SUCH a ride Will. It's one scene, but it is a whole story. The conflict is that Henry thinks he's a waste of space, and the resolution is that Topham convinces him he isn't. That's a full narrative, and a powerful one! I really am wowed, which is why I haven't even talked about the technical elements, because they all come together to form such a rich and poignant final picture that I'm more preoccupied with the message of your work than the bts, which is really the ultimate goal of any film, to get lost in the world. But I will try to be specific for at least a paragraph lol. Your distinctive style and model work is on show more here than anywhere else; I LOVE the painted faces that echo the illustrations and are so, SO expressive, the basically brand new Henry whose shape is SO different and cool and again, really brings the book to life. The missing buffers are SUCH a great touch, you translated them so well. The vans all look so great, I love the one shot focussing on that one just waiting to be put back on. The Fat Director turned out AMAZING!! The build up with him walking over mixed with the music is just SO powerful, we are LIVING in Henry's head in this and feeling his emotions with him, the whole thing is from his perspective. The fact that you wait so long to show us the Fat Director's face and reveal his genuine empathy is just SO powerful. And the way you painting him (I hardly want to call it painting, he just feels like he's THERE) is SO brilliant! The flies on the spoiling fish and the absent minded cow observing it is SUCH a good place to start this, the flies immediately bring looming death to mind. And the MUSIC throughout this is just brilliant! You always make the very best choices, and The Fat Director's slow monologue over the bittersweet one in the second half is so complimented by the music, the slow build of Henry's trust and Topham's faith in him... Like, God damn. This is the second the railway changed. Anyway, I could go on and on, but this was just SO stirring Will. Thank you for bringing it into existence! No pressure to follow it up with something even half as moving, hell no pressure to make anything ever again unless you want to. But I know you have more ideas cooking, and whatever you make next, I know it will be phenomenal and make me feel something. You really are an amazing artist, watching your art evolve has been a great joy for me and I can't wait to see what you do next! Also I'm Sam in the credits I think I'm Sam for real now haha
Dude Sam, you’re real, and you are awesome!! Thank you so much dude, you have such an incredible understanding of this world, model making, filmmaking, and who I am; I’m so glad this all came through to you, it really does mean the world!
Honestly, this should get more attention. It's so poignant and the slow mellow music absolutely helps. This really expands on Henry's character so much! He's one of the most saddest and the most inspiring character the series and this is the most respect he's ever gotten in years! After the show literally freaking dumped him into the garbage bin without even acknowledging the absolute legend this guy was and the inspiration he gives to people. As someone who as a child was always sick, always in and out of the hospital with more than 5 new perscriptions of medication, Henry speaks to me so much and I've heard he also speaks to people with some form of neurodivergence or any disability. He did not deserve how the show treated him. And THIS is what treatment he deserves. If only the books and the show was allowed to sneak more beautiful and dark moments like this. The cinematography and the delivery is so freaking beautiful! I love this! Great job! This was bloody brilliant!
Whenever the media talks about Thomas, they always talk about the engines as metaphors, and I always thought they were wrong. But to talk about the trains as metaphors in this amazing video would indeed be accurate!
I almost shed a tear at this, bloody hell is this amazing. I can imagine the idea spurring all from “Why is Henry smiling in that illustration?” And if so, I am AMAZED at how all this spurred from that. Spectacular, in every way.
Nothing brings a tear to my eye quite like Sir Topham Hatt declaring his undying devotion to his engines. Reminds me of what my parents would say to me whenever I have doubts about myself for any reason.
Will, you somehow manage to knock it out of the park further with each and every video. This story genuinely brought tears to my eyes. The true heart of the fat controller is displayed wonderfully here. I will think about "I buy engines for their hearts" for the rest of time. And the custom Henry model is gorgeous! Always love seeing what you can build with simple supplies. A true craftsman and storyteller!
The conversation between Henry and Topham was really touching. It really puts into perspective just how much Topham really believes in bis engines and doesn't give up on them. For a conversation with only two characters, you managed to make it visually stunning and pleasing.
I had tears hearing the Fat Controller talk to Henry, he was so heartfelt and wanted Henry to know the impact he had on the Railway, even if he wasn't perfect, Henry did not want to fail and would do everything he could to get a train to its station, you can tell Sir Topham Hatt was changed by Henry, and wants him to be better off, which is why he got Henry the welsh coal in the first place, and why he sends him to Crewe after this scene.
3:56 They ask you how you are and you have to say that your fine when your not really fine but you just can't get into it because they would never understand.
Truly amazing work. A Pieta in coal, steel and fire! I’m not ashamed to say this made me cry several times. This is why I am a Henry fan. This is why I am a Thomas fan. Thank you!
An absolutely incredible piece of art, every frame and line's sewn together with loving needles and thread. Genuinely awe-inspiring, from the way the two talk to the way the shots are framed.
this... is just perfect. The Fat Controller at his true form. He isn't some dictator or evil corrupt politician. No. He's the father figure to the engines. He listens to them. He understands them. 1000/10
This is the best Flying Kipper adaptation, if not the best Thomas video I’ve seen. Everything about this has been strung to perfection in ways that I have never seen before. Let me start with the writing first. The whole plot is on point, setting up the crash with the Flying Kipper, plus Henry and how he kept thinking he was a waste of space, wondering why Thopham still decided to keep him around even with the amount of issues he had. You can feel how he’s gotten to the point where he has completely given up on life. What really sends it for me is the scene at 3:43. The long pause is PERFECT here, as it gives the immersion that Henry is debating on whether to finally let out what’s been on his mind for a while. It honestly hit me right in the feels like a cinderblock wall to the point where I actually teared up. I relate to this deeply, as I’m struggling with depression myself and to see something that describes EXACTLY how I’m feeling right now, in a Thomas video of all things is insane. Sir Thopham Hatt here is portrayed exactly how he was intended. shots of the camera panning from Henry to Thopham. You can see and feel the pure worry and sadness on his face. He WANTS to hear what Henry has to say and WANTS to know what’s been on his mind. The fact we also see him also finally come clean to one of his engines about everything, and how he buys his engines for their hearts really tugs on your heart strings. His pep talk to Henry was very motivating too. He wants to pull Henry out of the slums and give him a new lease on life. He isn’t some fascist dictator who uses the engines as his slaves, but a loving, caring authority figure. THIS is Sir Thopham Hatt. THIS is how you write him. The music was also a great choice. For the most part, I’m not really too fond of music in Thomas videos, as it’s usually the same themes and nothing original. However, you have completely taken the concept and RAN with it. I think using music not composed by Mike and Junior really added to the emotion of the video. The song that plays at around 5 minutes in was a tear jerker. It really added to the atmosphere of how everything was melancholy and made Thopham’s speech hit harder. Another thing is the ending, it’s beautiful. I adore the small details of everything going like clockwork, the taxi finally starting up, the signal being lubricated and working again, the trucks starting to clear up the accident, and Henry finally breaking a smile for the first time in the video. The accident being cleared is a key point here, as I feel like it’s a metaphor that Henry’s troubles are finally over with. He can rejoice as everything is in the past now, and how he has a new lease on life. I also am in awe with the model work as well. Everything is pulled straight from the books, down to every last detail. The models look exactly like the Dalby illustrations, and the faces are the icing on the cake. They really add to the immersion and atmosphere and I love it. The cinematography is a pure work of art, especially with the set. It really drives home the lonely, empty emotions that Henry feels. The camera shots are another thing too. Low lying camera angles really help make this feel realistic. We can see how massive Henry is, and nothing really feels like it’s made with models in a way. I also love the panning shots. The ones showing the crash with the fish van falling over is nice, and so is the one with Thopham and Henry as I’ve discussed before. On that final note, thank you William for making this video. I didn’t find it, it found me. I’m looking forward to seeing what content you release in the future.
I’m disappointed I didn’t watch this sooner. But I’m glad I got to. The emotion is felt throughout with the music and the dialogue. If Thomas was a soap opera, this is how it should be done.
Sir Topham Hatt is not just an authority figure he’s a father figure to all of his engines and doesn’t care if they are faster or stronger or better in any other way possible he only cares if they work hard and are equal to one another that is his railway is so special and different to any other railway in the whole wide world and I say god bless him
Henry is my favorite character. “The Flying Kipper” is my favorite story in both the RWS and the show. I expected to love this after hearing Tug pitch it as one of his picks of the week. I wasn’t expecting to be in tears by the end. This story. THIS STORY. It’s so perfect that I’m convinced I’m going to have a hard time explaining why it works so well, but I will try. First off, the models are very PR Wickham in terms of design. If you’ve ever seen those weird black and white photos of models of the original six engines pre-Thomas and Friends, that’s who designed them. Wickham’s models have a very handcrafted feel to them, and these models are no different. Henry… man, where do I even start with him? This is EXACTLY how Henry would feel after blowing his chance with the Flying Kipper even after all the good his Welsh coal did him. He’s devastated and feels even worse than he did earlier in the week. He’s the most emotionally sensitive engine on the North Western (to a fault), and this nails that aspect of his character. And then we move onto Sir Topham Hatt. Henry’s book felt like the place where we got the first glimpse of the real Topham once Wilbert figured him out- the caring savior of any engine in need of a new home and the father figure these cheeky little engines needed. He was willing to spend anything he could to ensure Henry’s well-being when several years prior he was willing to shut him away in a tunnel because of his frustration with the big lug’s stubbornness. And this story gets him right in ways that even Lost Treasure (best depiction of Topham since Season 5 hands down) failed to. He admits to his frustrations with Henry, but he never let that get in the way of his care for him. He saw in Henry an engine willing to be really useful, and that outweighed whatever flaws the Atlantic/Pacific hybrid suffered from. He was worth it. This story is worth it. You are worth it.
The writing alone can stand for itself, but the jaw-dropping visuals are what makes this video perfect. I would call this perfect, for its story, for its modelwork, and for its heart. Thank you. You never fail to amaze.
So proud of you Will!! I see the BoJack influence so much in Henry and I absolutely love it. I also love how you used a BoJack quote that has been my phone background for years. This was such a positive spin on a BoJack like character that we never get to see in the actual BoJack Horseman. Henry was a great character to pick for this. Of course the models, network, and thumbnail is fantastic. Some of the best I've ever seen from you. Such a great second video of 2024, and I cannot wait for more videos like this in 2024. Hooray for William!
I have seen so many different takes on Henry and his kipper accident and how the fat controller was never happy with purchase of henry at first and then later on he sees how truly special Henry is. This by far is the best take I have ever seen it just brings so much more character to this scene and really just allow further character development, truly this is a great film in my opinion just like masteroflemons this is a truly unique and amazing film, and not just another thomas video you see on the internet this is a one of a kind film to me and many others that see that way as well, keep up the great work and looking forward to your next piece of work
I loved the RWS Influence on Henry's model, the set looked amazing, the dialogue was amazing. And obviously the cinematography was great. All if it. Bravo.
My god this was good. If Wilbert was here, he would absolutely love this. For this reason, and many others, Henry is one of my favorite characters of the franchise.
This video is incredible. How does one even have words. The gravity of the situation is emphasized so resonantly by the brutality of the opening crash. The snowy environment builds such a vulnerable and depressive atmosphere you're able to provide warmth to at the end - even through visuals alone, seeing the smiles of STH's engines is such a rich payoff. There is such little Thomas media that focuses on the emotional complexity of The Flying Kipper *after the crash*, and even less that shows such a holistic characterization of the Fat Controller as a stern but deeply loving man (one with flaws, one with GROWTH). You humanize every aspect of this situation - from the audio design, to the tiny details that fill in the scene. It's beautiful. This is a beautiful video. It made me me tear up. It truly embodies what Thomas is at its core and why the classic stories resonate with so many people. How much love exists within every facet of this universe, and how much love exists within the narrative's frameworks, even if untapped in initial material - thankfully tapped by talented people like you. You should be proud of this video. You should be proud of the style you have made for yourself; the artistic vision for this story was executed so well, it feels as if The Railway Series was brought to life straight from the page. That Henry model is banger asf!! There is so much here to love. How does one even have words. You are incredible Will.
"It's because of you Henry, I'll always buy my Engines, Henry, for their heart..." - No, I'm not crying, you are crying TwT! This is by far one of the most wholesome stories based on the books/the series I've watched so far, not only the models are amazing with that aesthetic of being drawings that came to life, or the nature of the Fat controller at last represented accurately; And don't take me wrong, there's creepy stories of this kind that are amazing too, but this is simply the essence of TTTE at its finest. Not to mention that you made 10 minutes of ONLY two characters speaking without faltering or making the story an apex less interesting, and that only has a name... Talent. Last but not least, I would like to propose you, only if it's possible and you wish to, dub this short film to Spanish as I think that more people deserve to see this and I'm sure they'll love it as much as everyone here, however they are limited by the boundaries of language.
Dude thank you so much, it really means a lot! I don’t have too much experience with re-dubbing, but I hope one day I could retranslate my stories for others to enjoy, it really is a great idea! Thank you!!
@@wilburpyt I got a bit of experience on it as I dubbed a couple of stories from the fandom, thats why I mention it. And your welcome, again this was amazing!
This was absolutely SPECTACULAR!! The dialogue, the voice acting, the models all wonderfully crafted and executed! I love the tone of the Fat Director's voice, the pure raw emotions you can hear in his voice all conveyed through a tiny plastic figureine?! Wow. I also ADORE the faces of the engines, they look like they were ripped straight out of a Railway Series illustration and that's not even mentioning the brilliant set dressing and Henry model! Well done all around, I would definitely say watching this video was "Worth It." 😉
I could talk about the story but I'm gonna talk about the visuals instead because they were awesome. I know you had fun making the crash, it looked so cool. The little detail of the rail being ripped apart by Henry derailing especially was a nice touch. Also damn the snow on the ERTL vehicles looks very convincing
So, it has been a hot minute since I commented on any Thomas video, but I felt it most appropriate here. I absolutely ADORE this video. First, the model work is absolutely AMAZING. And I don't just mean the models themselves. I love the set design. You have put in so many neat little details sprinkled in, and I love the fact the snow is used as both a visual of the cold air and cold feelings of the characters. Second, the voice work is amazing. Henry sounds so defeated here, it sounds like he gave up all hope. But the highlight is the fat director. The performance is absolutely SPECTACULAR. I love the passion behind it, it works so well. Combined with some pretty good music, this is an all around fantastic video. I think you have some potential to be one of the BIG Thomas users, if you keep going up from here. Someone like TradisRescue. I wish the best on whatever travels you have. P.S. I did advertise this video on my Twitter, but if you have a Twitter, I would to advertise that as well if possible.
Dude thank you so much! I really am out of my depth in voice acting, but Anthony is just incredible dude!! He really is the best man, and I'm so pumped you enjoyed! Your comment means so much! And I do have Twitter hahaha, thank you dude!!
This was so heart warming. The way that Henry felt and how the fat director understood and gave him a pep talk just makes the episode The Flying Kipper more understanding and it fills in the gaps that Every Fat Director and Every Fat Controller that the NWR has ever had the Hat faimly always and always will care about there engines not for the fact that there a live and they do what the controller says it's the fact that every engine that was ever on the NWR was cared for was that there hearts and gratitude to communicate with eachother to learn with eachother and even grow with eachother matters and the Hat Faimly represents that even though some people have problems there is always that special someone or that father or mother figure will always love and care for them and that's what Thomas The Tank Engine has always been about love and compassion and making mistakes and learning from them and making friends that is what Thomas and all his friends are about and that will never change just like the reverend him self did for the son and hell all the kids around the world and as a fan that has watched the show and read the books every journey with your friends will always be special and always be happy for who you have and what you did together as friends and as a community. Thomas and all your friends your my number one hero.
This made me cry cause I thought Henry was trying to commit… this is the true emotional depth of how it played out and it changes my views on how the story went. Thank you for making this amazing piece of art ❤
I love the wreaked train bits just showing the damage done to the line and to the rolling stock. It's so real. Henry is just sitting there with his tender off beside him just shows the extent of the crash ... but the crashed train bits ... mint my dude
This is amazing and heartwarming. From a film production perspective, I give it a solid 10/10. Ngl, I legit felt like crying cause it gives such a sad yet relaxing tone. From the camera angles and awesome music fittingness, to the editing and character interaction between Henry and the Fat Director. This short film is awesome.
WILL!!!! I genuinely can’t find the words to express how in love I am with this video!! How you were able to tell so much with just one set and two characters is mind blowing. The faces and Topham closeups are SO well drawn!!!!! You have such a fun unique style the whole thing feels so fresh and different to anything i’ve seen before thankyou for making this
This was absolutely wonderful! Henry has been my favourite engine since childhood, and I'd never even thought that this scene could be expanded upon so brilliantly. And the charm of seeing real models again, combined with artful cinematography AND a truly crafted and moving script! You are a craftsman, sir! Please do make more, and I look forward to seeing what you make in the future.
dude holy [____] this is so much more than just a kipper adaptation, it's something special enough to get me to shed a couple of tears over even though it's quite literally taking place during the kipper it just IS its' own standalone story and that's beautiful been following your work for years now and this one REALLY hit so close to home for me for a multitude of reasons, thank you.
Every "normie" thinks that sir topham hatt is a dictator who scraps engines if theu don't behave, that is incorrect, you've proved that sir topham hatt is a man who, despite all the stress and sleepless nights, still cares about his engines and loves them all, he doesn't buy engines who are the "Best", he buys them, for their hearts. Amazing short, i. loved. it.
This video reminds me of a song. "And though I know, since you've awakened her again She depends on you, she depends on you I'll go alone and never speak of you again We depend on you, we depend on you And though I know since you've awakened her again She depends on you, she depends on you She'll go alone and never speak of this again We depend on you, we depend on you And though I know since you've awakened her again She depends on you, she depends on you She'll go alone, and never speak of this again We depend on you, we depend (I depend) on you" -Sad Machine, by Porter Robinson The entire song really. Beautifully done. **Standing ovation**
This has just blown me away! Dude this was sick!! Everything here was done to such a level of expertise its honestly mind blowing. Definitely worth it! And a huge well done to everyone involved!
This is beautiful, I love this ! From the music choice to the models and the dialogue between Topham and Henry it just shows how much Topham cares for his engines even if their builders swindled the money out of the railway. This is a beautiful video, good job
Fantastic stuff! I'm an absolute sucker for introspective stories like this, filling the audience in on a lot of emotional beats that just weren't present in the original narrative. Also those dalby inspired models are both amazing and inspiring, with the darker shading and streaks of reflective white to indicate edges and corners just like the illustrations, so much to love here.
I relate to saying I'm ok when I'm not ok. I feel terrible almost every day, but I don't tell anyone because I don't want to bring anybody else down with me. I know that isn't good for me, but that's how I go through life. This video gives me shivers.
Stuff like this makes you one of my favorite creators, Will! So much happens with so little action, and the impact is like a slowly grasping hand finally clenching what's in its palm. I really needed this after a many stressful bouts these past few months, and it is a truly inspiring, uplifting piece of art. I hope after this, everyone who did watch this will feel they are truly worth something as long as they have good character and heart like Henry.
The video is wonderful! Also, Sir Topham Hatt was beautifully drawn! And also, I burst into tears while watching the video, because Sir Topham Hatt's conversation with Henry touched me to the core. Thank you for creating such a wonderful video!
@@Akio09 Dude thank you so much! Was really not so confident on my Digital Drawing enough to put it in a video, but I did and I’m so pumped you liked it!!
I love the use of music in this. The almost somber tone as we see the full scale of the accident being cleaned up. Then when the Fat controller arrives you get this foreboding music that represents what Henry is feeling, scared the controller is angry with him. He tries to find any explanation to lessen the blow of an incoming scolding but… it never comes. And then you have this (violin? I think) and piano playing as Henry and the Fat Controller have this heart to heart. It gives such power to the scenes and makes you really feel for Henry in this moment. I’m legit typing this as I watch and I’m in awe. Got recommended this from one of Unlucky Tug’s video and I’m glad I gave it a shot. It really shows how the Fat Controller is not just an authority figure but a caring father to the engines. He understands when things were out of their control and scolds them when needed. Of course there are times he makes mistakes, but he acknowledges them and apologies as well. A simple 11 minute conversation yet shows so much character in those 11 minutes. I have to say… watching this was worth it.
There really isn’t anything I can say that everyone here already hasn’t, but I will say that this is truly something special, one of those fan projects that only comes around every few years, you’ve left me speechless, bravo William, bravo. Also I’d love to see someone call Sir topham a tyrant after watching this.
The writing, depth, and heart present here truly shines like gold. The nuanced understanding of Henry and The Fat Controller’s dynamic is an absolute pleasure to witness. I love how, in Sir Topham’s entrance, the impression is given that Henry’s days are well and truly numbered following the ‘Kipper incident,’ only for this notion to be completely subverted by an immensely moving monologue affirming Sir Topham’s integrity and loyalty to his engines. Minus the one “Christ’s sake,” this thing is so, so good.
The moment I heard Minecraft music I knew this video was gonna be amazing. This is so good, I love Topham’s speech so much, this is the real Fat Controller, not the evil dictator everyone thinks he is. Fantastic job.
This just popped into my auto play watching trampy videos. Didnt know what to expect, definitely wasnt expecting such a class writing. That speech made me stop and really listen, it was inspiring. Funny hiw youtube works, usually just plays my repeat stuff, but sometimes it leads to gems like these and new channels to subscribe to.
I love this and every other film of yours so much. They all have something to say and have a voice of their own and that's something I don't see in this fandom often. I love that after the video ends, I feel something and I find myself thinking about it often. The shot of Henry and the Fat Director from the side stuck out to me in paticular it was so beautiful. The dialouge encapsulated everything I love about the series. Thank you for this.
What a pleasure it was to be a part of this fantastic video!
A big well done to everyone involved👏
The best Fat Director ever! Thank you so much dude, you rock!!

Fantastic work!

Wasnt actually scared of the rain just was being selfish and only cared for his paint
He learned his lesson in the end though
Bravo!
Matt thank you so much dude, you have no idea! You’re the best dude!
@MasterOfTheLemons
Will there be another character gallery or is that series done?
God, These models are absolutely stunning. I've never seen any models this faithful to the style(s) of the RWS!
Dude I really wasn't sure about them, I'm a little out of my comfort zone with OO Custom Modelling! But I'm so glad you liked them dude, thank you!
That is so nice of you to say dude, seriously! Thank you ever so much! I'm so pumped you liked it!!
@@wilburpyt No, thank you! This was beautiful! Keep up the good work!
Someone cooked here…beautiful cinematography!
Thank you James!!
@@wilburpyt Hey there, this look amazing and can you put subtitles on so I can understand what Henry and the Fat Controller are saying.
Thomas fans have been eating well with these fabulous Flying Kipper adaptations.
Hahaha dude exactly! Thank you so much!!
The fact that you got me to watch 10 minutes of two characters talking and I enjoyed every second of it.... you have talent
Hahahaha dude you're too nice! Thank you!
@@wilburpyt Can I ask a question.
Nothing brings a tear to my eye quite like Sir Topham Hatt declaring his undying devotion
to his engines. Reminds me of what my parents would say to me whenever I have doubts
about myself for any reason.
Matt I really appreciate it dude, thank you so much man!!
That speech sir topham gave was really inspiring, love it!
Thank you!!
The most beautiful moment for me was when we see Henry smile. It made me cry. It was a wonderful telling of this story.
Dude I was really nervous with how Henry’s smiling face turned out! I’m really glad you liked it dude, thank you!!
The models, the set design, it's just superb. And what a well scripted and spoken monologue by The Fat Director at the end.
Thank you so much dude!
Sodor's engines will always be gifted with the virtues of; determination, bravery, justice, kindness, patience, integrity and perseverance

The conversation between Henry and Topham was really touching. It really puts into perspective just how much Topham really believes in bis engines and doesn't give up on them. For a conversation with only two characters, you managed to make it visually stunning and pleasing.
@@winwatch9835 Dude thank you so much! That really does mean the world!!
this is the best reimagined flying kipper ever thank you its always amazing when you upload
You're so kind dude, thank you!
When people say that the fat controller is a terrible person just show them this video
The Minecraft music goes so hard with this scene
Loved this bit of a brighter take on what happened after the flying kipper and how you made the fat controller a father figure
This is the quality of story telling, model work, atmosphere, character dynamics, etc, that everyone should strive for. This is absolutely wonderful
Thank you!!
Truly amazing work. A Pieta in coal, steel and fire!
I’m not ashamed to say this made me cry several times.
This is why I am a Henry fan. This is why I am a Thomas fan.
Thank you!
Thank you!!
An absolutely incredible piece of art, every frame and line's sewn together with loving needles and thread. Genuinely awe-inspiring, from the way the two talk to the way the shots are framed.
I'm really pumped you liked it dude, thank you!
this... is just perfect.
Dude thank you so much! From the bottom of my heart dude, your words really do mean the world! Thank you so ever so much dude!
No problem man. I’m looking forward to seeing what you have planned in future!
Man and Machine have a deep conversation
I nearly teared up at this
I’m disappointed I didn’t watch this sooner.
Dude, that is so incredibly kind!! I really do appreciate it so much, and I really am so glad you liked it dude!!
Dude you really are the best! I’m pumped our love for Bojack can be shared in this video dude, thank you!!
I have seen so many different takes on Henry and his kipper accident and how the fat controller was never happy with purchase of henry at first and then later on he sees how truly special Henry is. This by far is the best take I have ever seen it just brings so much more character to this scene and really just allow further character development, truly this is a great film in my opinion just like masteroflemons this is a truly unique and amazing film, and not just another thomas video you see on the internet this is a one of a kind film to me and many others that see that way as well, keep up the great work and looking forward to your next piece of work
Thank you so much dude!

I nearly cried watching this. If Thomas had the new cinematic movie, this is how it should look. Fantastic job!
Thank you!!

I can’t remember the last time a TTTE fan story made me cry. That’s how good this was.
Well done all around, I would definitely say watching this video was "Worth It." 😉
Now this is wonderful. I'd love to see more adaptations like this, particularly Old Stuck Up or Bowler

Damn i never thought a thomas video would be this deep
Fantastic stuff! I'm an absolute sucker for introspective stories like this, filling the audience in on a lot of emotional beats that just weren't present in the original narrative. Also those dalby inspired models are both amazing and inspiring, with the darker shading and streaks of reflective white to indicate edges and corners just like the illustrations, so much to love here.
Thank you so much dude!!

The fact that I grew up with stuff like this is amazing in of itself
Beautiful. It’s even better since I love Henry. I almost cried.
Thomas dude thank you! Man that means the world! You’re awesome, thank you!!
2:24 love the isle of dogs music
I'm not crying! It's just condensation on my boiler! But really great expansion of a moment from my childhood.
This....this is beautiful!🥲
This genuinely feels like the railway series come to life, I love it so much!
This was just bloody beautiful, in imagery, sound, story and everything - just beautiful :)
Now this, this very interpretation and characterisation of the fat controller,is a good one! Marvelous even!
this is so fucking good
it's so heartwarmingly written
the modelwork is amazing
good fucking job dude this is fantastic
This is a real masterpiece, and almost made me cry thinking of the pep talk Topham gave Henry. Good show and keep it up
The moment I heard Minecraft music I knew this video was gonna be amazing.
Dude RUclips is awesome, and so are you! Thank you!!
Bravo! This brings a tear to my eye. Excellent writing and great looking shots.
