    I want that shirt

      Nice shirt, right?! I asked the Meatloaf team if they had shirts for purchase. It was suggested you head over to the Meatloaf discord and check over there. Good Luck! -Cheers, Steve

    TY for the video. I remember watching the live show of them opening that vault in Chicago. They only found a few glass bottles.

    Maybe it was hung off the underside of a piece of furniture unit or something?.

      @@TheVintNerd the only other time I see that happening is when it's part of a mainframe. Maybe it was used for a business or something?

    Too bad! I agree it is very weird! Maybe the seller installed those to drive up the price LOL. Looks like a nice 64K unit though.

    "What's in the box?!" (movie reference) Maybe I should skip "ahead"? Comparison of IC manufacturing date markings? That PCB is definitely an updated version. Can't figure out those six bolts/screw unless they mounted something to the TOP of the unit.

    Monitor mount possibly?

      Good thought, but the bolts seem a little small for that. 🤔

    ATR 8000, eh? Let us know if it does anything suspicious. Getting some residual temporal anomaly readings, like this just happened. However, no bugs were detected in this video. Interesting... We might be in a different timeline altogether now. There is also a trace Meatloaf temporal ripple, as if there is some strange continuity happening. Not sure. Don't worry though, we're monitoring the situation.

    I had an ATR8000. 1x SIO makes it uninteresting as a floppy controller. as a cp/m machien the issue is the atari's 40 columns. Ultimatley I don't find the ATR8000 to do anything useful.

    • @TheVintNerd
      @TheVintNerd  3 месяца назад +1

      Certainly, a FujiNet can do it all & more nowadays. Back in the day though, the ATR8000 could save you money if you wanted a 4 drive system with serial and parallel ports; with CP/M to boot (there are 80 column solutions for it). Thanks for checking out the channel! -Cheers, Steve

      I think it’s needed to run 8”

      @@sideburn Yup, the ATR8000 will work with 3.5", 5.25" & 8" drives :)

      What I've seen is the ATR originally came with an 80-column terminal program that used the Atari's high-res Graphics mode 8. That's how the Atari accessed CP/M, through a serial link (the SIO port). There's a video somewhere on RUclips showing this. It felt familiar, since when I was in college, I used a similar terminal setup on my 130XE to access my university's computers, except I was using it with a phone modem, using the RS-232 port, through a P:R: Connection. There was a competent, free VT100 terminal emulator called VT10-Squared that ran on the Atari. It had a very similar setup, creating an 80-column, scrollable text display out of Graphics mode 8. It was readable with a small black & white TV I had. The main difference I noticed was the terminal program that came with the ATR appeared to have faster scrolling.
