    I bought an NZXT C1200 PSU with significant coil whine / electrical noise issues. I sent it back and the replacement was actually worse. After extensive testing, it was confirmed there was an issue with the PSUs.
    NZXT have since confirmed that there are issues with the capacitors on some models / batches.
    I have since put in a different brand of PSU with no issues.
    Sharing on the off chance this is helpful to someone. Happy gaming all.

      @@Apurbo_ I also bought it after seeing it on the same list. You can get a decent Seasonic for the same money depending on what you need from your PSU .
      NZXT gave me this reply:
      "Our team seems to have identified the root cause for the noise and is working on fixing it in the future. ... it looks like there was an issue found in some models with the capacitors producing the coilwhine."
      I tried two of them, and they both had the same issue (second one was even worse). After checking their serials, they were only a few digits different and likely in the same batch. The customer service was also not great. But this is just my experience.

    Do they do a 1500W PLATINUM rated ATX 3.0 PSU? With electricity so expensive we want a PSU with max efficiency to save on energy bills (platinum better than just gold rated), & as GPUs keep needing more & more power, & these PSUs should last at least 10yrs, a 50% latency above the minimum recommended 1000W for RTX4090 PC seems sensible. If they don't, can you please suggest who do? Minimum 1500W PLATINUM rated ATX 3.0. Thanks

      I've seen a lot of tests about the efficiency of Platinum and Titanium vs Gold. From the findings the amount extra you spend on the Platinum and Titanium isn't recouped in your electricity savings. You will only save a few dollars a year. So you only go for those PSUs if you want the best of the best.

    Hello friends, please guide me. Do you think Silverstone HELA 1300R platinum power is better or Corsair RM1200X SHIFT?

    • @trsskater
      @trsskater 5 месяцев назад

      I've never heard of the HELA but if its made by Silverstone I'm sure it is great. Cosair also makes great PSUs So really it just depends on which has the price and the amount of connections you want. Personally I would never buy a corsair because they are so over priced and you can get a 10 year warranty from most brands. It would be one thing is they lasted longer or had better components or something, but if you get any good brand you'll likely never think about it again until your power needs change. Especially if you are in the market for a platinum PSU they are all good.

    I recently bought this PSU. Unfortunately NZXT uses proprietary connections that have no aftermarket support. So this is essentially a NON modular power supply. The included cables are extremely bulky and stiff. Most of the cables have several long bulky redundant pigtails. If you’re working in a mid-tower or smaller or just want clean cable management, I’d strongly recommend NOT buying this PSU.

    • @mattiagatti1200
      @mattiagatti1200 Месяц назад

      What do you mean with proprietary connections? That I can't buy a third party cable for the motherboard?

    • @richardbixler
      @richardbixler Месяц назад +1

      @@mattiagatti1200 most modular power supplies ship with about a dozen single ended cables. This PSU only has about 8 cables. Each cable has 2-4 pigtails or adapters spliced on. This left me stuck with about a yard of cable and a half dozen connectors I didn’t need. Totally negates the benefit of a modular power supply.

    • @richardbixler
      @richardbixler Месяц назад

      @@mattiagatti1200 I ended up buying a Seasonic Focus V3 1000w. They also make a slightly more expensive Vertex line also. The Focus was cheaper and more reputable than the NZXT. The nice thing about Seasonic is they almost never change the pin layouts for there PSU’s, so aftermarket cable options are plentiful. Also, they’re almost always capable of more power than their advertised rating and more efficient. My model was able to handle sustained power draws of 1,150w with a nearly Platinum efficiency rating according to KitGuru. Seasonic is a Japanese brand used by other companies such as ASUS. This NZXT C1200 is an obscure Chinese supplier(CWT I think) that doesn’t really have any aftermarket support for cable upgrades. The cables are really durable and nice looking but also flexible. I know I sound like a shill, but it really was a 1,000 times easier to cable manage than the NZXT was. I have the H5 Flow and I really love the case and I really like NZXT products. But the cables on this PSU are really terrible. You might need either cable extensions or a replacement cables for a large case like the H9. That said they’re easy to find and inexpensive for Seasonic PSU’s. In fact you probably will still save money. NZXT charges a reasonable but sizable markup for their products. For example my NZXT motherboard costs $300 but is a $200 ASRock. It’s got a really clean look and the BIOS has a great UI, so for me it was worth it. But a PSU, you’ll never see it so the markup really doesn’t make sense imo. Hope that helps

    Meh ! It just has too little connections ! With an AMD card this is a no go because AMD still don't use the new 12VHPWR , this is more viable for nvidia and ! And you have to daisy chain AMD CPU's with this thing on AM5 , i prefer 3 separate cables ! On top of that if you are going to AM5 with an AMD card this PSU will not have enough slots to optimaly accomodate all components without daisy chaining ! AM5 requires 2 CPU cables ! So it seems like quite a poor option for the future ! Also alot of comments about coil whine related to this thing ! A decent guide tho !

      @@gundarsengelis1975 But the problem is if you look at other PSUs like the FSP Hydro PTM PRO 1000w ATX 3.0 (say that 3 times fast haha) it has more PCIe and peripheral connections and still includes the 12vhpwr connector. And it has does all that at 200 less watts. I think they are trying to make a price points with ATX 3.0 PSUs for the number of PCIe ports you get. Because FSP does the same thing as the nzxt but at 1000w and 1200w for gold. And then platinum gets 1 extra port. Then titanium gets another extra port for 1200w. Years back the power supply size was based on how many graphics cards you had. So 650w was for people with 1 GPU, 850w for 2, 1000w for 3, and 1200w+ for 4. And I guess now that you pretty much only use 1 they don't need to worry about having all these extra ports anymore.
