I have used a stamp to get perfect designs! As for writing I use my edible ink pen and sketch out my lettering (or designs) and pipe over the impressions. Another way to get perfect lettering is to print out the words or designs and use it under parchment paper to trace on. I find these methods to be very useful! Thank you Jemma for your fantastic decorating tips, tricks and ALL your wonderful and yummy recipes ❤️

Maybe it's my weird brain but I found watching the words being piped quite calming. I used to get flustered when I tried to pipe icing so my brother sent me on a decorative piping class for a Christmas present. It was just one lesson but it was really helpful. We didn't learn about writing though so this lovely video has been very helpful!

I remember royal icing writing being one of the first videos you put out for Food Tube, and I was already amazed by the skills you displayed in that video. Not only did you revisit the topic years later, you even went more in-depth and provided more tips, and I really appreciate this dedication of yours! You explain the techniques so thoroughly that it gives me the confidence to try it myself! Jemma you’ll always be my favorite baker on RUclips!

This was so helpful, Jemma! I've done my first practice run yesterday. My icing was a bit too stiff, but your tips made sure I managed to get some cursive writing done within 20-30 minutes of drawing my first ever line of icing. Managed some lovely snow crystal designs too, which is exactly what I'll need for the Xmas cake I'm making next week. I know this is an oldie, and you're not going to read my comment, but I wanted to thank you anyway!

Please When is the right time to add eggwhite if you are using normal eggwhite? How many pieces of egg is ok for the powdered sugar you used? I can't get hold of powdered eggwhite.

@@jenniferogochukwu6886 Crack an egg into a bowl, and put the egg white into a bowl, and whip it until soft peaks. Then add icing sugar until a stiff enough consistency is made.

Hey Jemma, I hope my comment doesn't get lost in a sea of comments. I love videos like these because they are so informative!!
My parents 25th anniversary is this December and I'd really like to bake them a somewhat fancy 2 or 3 tiered cake. I've learnt royal icing, how to place two tier cake and even how to layer fondant but I'd really, really love if you could do a fondant recipe too.
Thank you so much for the lovely content you post. My family absolutely loves your cakes. :)

I'd love to know, Jemma! PS I'm in love with your merch, dude!
