For everyone saying 33rd, losing to Riddles and KEN who were both seeded higher than him isn't anything to be ashamed of. It was unlucky Riddles was sent to losers through an early upset, he's a monster of a player and Marss also lowkey struggles against FGC characters
and playing them in ironmans lol
it sucks even more that if he lost this set he had a really good chance of making it into top 16

Did I miss the memo? Why is everyone hating Marss all of a sudden? Just because he isn't in prime and has been placing less doesn't mean shit, he's still a strong competitor and just needs a little bit more to break out back to top 10.
This is like the first major he has not placed top 8 in recently. Guy is still top 15 in the world

I think if marss really gets on the grind, he can win a major. He just doesn’t really care about competing, but even with minimal effort he places fairly well in tournaments. You can do it marss we believe in you.
Lol if he doesn't care he wouldn't compete at all, no need to John for him. People just simply got better at the game and he fell behind because he focused more on content creation, simple as that.

Eh, bias would be them unfairly favoring Marss for personal reasons, usually to some benefit of one party. Plus a commentators job is to speak about and react to what they're watching. Them commentating on Marss utterly destroying Kurama isnt REALLY biased lol he WAS beating kurama down pretty bad. Them speaking as if Marss is a better player also isn't biased, because he is. The commentary on any of that doesn't help or hurt anyone during the game.
Who did Marss lose to for 33rd place? Figures they wouldn’t show it, they don’t want it mainstreamed.

Looking at the comments… Marss kinda does this to himself. It sucks to see. Still a great player but things ebb and flow hopefully some humble pie would serve some good.
Yeah, post-quarantine Marss is a bit unfortunate to see as a long fan of his, but he’s living the good content creator life now lol. As for the competitive scene, I really don’t know what to say, since he’s one of the most fundamentally driven players I’ve ever seen. He has the skill and willpower, I just think he isn’t as motivated as he was pre-quarantine. He will rise up soon though, I hope so…

There’s a lot of reasons tbh but you’re right. The competition has gotten better, marss has gotten worse, and the meta has changed so much that different traits are valued more in other characters, so zss is becoming more irrelevant. The monster that was the Marss Zss was a top 3 player playing a top 5 character. It’s now become a top 25 player playing a top 30 character. Feelssadman

While he certainly isn't nearly as good as he used to be, and has some ways to go adjust to the meta, losing to Ken and Riddles is nothing to be ashamed of. Recently he's had bad luck with getting bad matchups with olimar and steve, so hopefully encountering top level players will be good for him to regain form. Wish he'd use joker more though tbh.

In my experience it’s because people who tend to be full of themselves deserve it, feels so good when they get taken down a peg.
Marss is one of those people I would never invite to my house since he’s known for breaking TVs and being temperamental.
