It's just preference. It could be because they may go faster with gloves, it protects their fingers, they can do certain tricks like types of grinds easier, etc.
Even though he messed up alot, this is still awsome!!!!! The yo-yo he used was the limited edition freehand MG red. There were only 200 of the red ones made and the normal price for the other colors is $400
if you wear gloves the string tends to be more smooth as your "tricking" wether as to no string if you have sweaty fingers the string hurts your fingers and gets like a rope burn
Looks more like a speedmakers to me, speeder has metal rims. This is about the time he was launching and marketing the speedmaker, makes sense to assume he'd use it in competition. Of course I could just be horribly wrong.
I can do about the first 1:00 of this video, this guy is freaking great. I was gonna enter in the US National 1A tournament in Chico California, but I never got around to getting the time. Maybe this year :P

I mean, people see a white man do something and say, "Oh wow, he's good at that" and may even say, "Oh wow, Germans are good at that" or "Italians are good at that" etc. But when any Asian ethnicity (Chinese, Japanese, Cambodian) does something, everyone goes "Oh wow, Asians can do everything good". Don't put them into one singular group and recognize that they aren't the only ones that can do everything.
Ok it's getting really annoying that people keep posting videos saying yoyoing is stupid or lame or whatever. If you dont like yoyoing dont bother even watching the video.
