Why does everyone seem to think that '2nd place' is a curse? The guys that place highly on a consistent basis at contests are all phenomenal yoyo players. Once you get to the level that these guys are at, I would imagine that some of it comes down to how good of a day you are having. I love watching Mickey. (who doesn't?) This is a solid performance that showcases his amazing skill. Why can't we leave it at that?
hey man, even though its a repetitive move, but the judges score based on ROUTINE, its a part of scoring, if you check out the world yo-yo contest page, and look under scoring points, You'll see that repetitive routines get you more points, like everyone else, Black, Paul Han, Augie Fash, etc. Even in all other Divisions, 2A shinji saito uses pretty much same moves, 5A Numa uses same routines. I know it gets boring, but its for getting maximum points.

Mickey is a great entertainer, is very skilled, but he also did some mistakes (i counted 6 or 7 ;). Considering that Mickey plays almost the same way from the past 5 years and Ando is something fresh, i must've said he deserved to win. But just a lil' bit ;P
4 me mickey is steal the best... john ando made a clean performance but he dont have mickey's speed... ..yes maybe he missed something sometimes but if mickey use john speed he probably miss nothing... and those horizontal thiks r insane!! i think they dont want mickey win for some reason.....
he uses speed maker which evolved to Speeder which also evolved to aluminum Meteor, very fine grip and lighter. many people say dark magic is good, but i would have to say speeder or meteor, try speeder first if u like it get meteor

自分今高校生だけど小４か小５くらいにハイパーヨーヨーでヨーヨーにトリックがあるということを知って、中３くらいにホリゾンタルとかごちゃ系コンボとか知ったからヨーヨー界でメタルが主流になったのはハイパーヨーヨーブームが終わってからだと思ってて、ホリゾンタルとかロングコンボとかはヨーヨーの回転力とかにもよるだろうから、メタル機種が出だした2011年とかそのあとに出来たトリックなんかなとか思ってたら2008年の時点でやっちゃってるからビビったwハイパークラスター出る遥か昔から既にこのレベルだと考えると小４くらいに「ブレインツイスター！」とかいってヨーヨーしていた自分を思い出すとバカらしくなってきたw

john andos routine was twice as cool, this routine was twice as challenging, this is yoyoing for yoyoers. ando was yoyoing for spectators. imo.
