For focusing and framing I also use a remote control app on my phone - DSLR controller. And some manufacturers have their own apps that work really well, makes the process way easier.
Wow this is actually super interesting topic, we all wish to have a friend that helps us shoot tho. definitely trying some cinematic sequences filmed by myself in my next vid :D
Good tips. If your a 1-man-show I would highly recommend something like the Canon SL2 with flip-out screen and auto-focus. It's a great little camera and gets the job done 100% of the time. I'm in the same boat and shoot nearly everything myself and those flip out screens really save you a lot of time. Good luck in film school... 😎 😎 Oh, and if you haven't heard yet the Skydio 2 is coming soon...the perfect drone for someone doing it all themselves. Can't wait for it to start shipping....
I’ve been waiting for this! I like how you pointed out having a variety of shots. That’s sometimes overlooked and forgotten when filming yourself - especially for a video like this. Great job working on the TMS title during screenwriting. 😂
Great tips! You guys are rocking it. I use my phone and the Canon wireless app for framing and focus control. The flippy screen on the 80D is a big help for sure. The voice commands on the Gopro7 are handy as well.
Hey Tommy! It would be awesome if you could make a video about your experiences of film school in Vancouver. As a fellow Canadian (also from small town interior bc) considering doing the same thing, I am very interested in this topic! :)
You’re going to filmschool!? In the future can you please make a video about your experience cause next year is my final year of high school and I wanna go to Toronto film school, and I’m wondering if that’s a good choice (I wanna work in the film industry) thanks!
set your shot up wide enough that you can ken burns it any way you want. set a start/stop point with different sizes. Thats how I fake dolly shots in iMovie.
Making breakfast with the hoodie up, must be autumn in Canada.
