I will admit, I did kind of have a soft spot for this show when I was kid. I mean, it sounded stupid, but I remember not hating it whenever I watched it. I will say, yeah, I do remember that the dog was actually, weirdly, barely a factor in a lot of the episodes. I vaguely remember thinking "where's the dog in this show" or something along those lines when I watched it back in the day.
Yeah I recall defending this show a bit as it had some weirdly deep heart to it with an oddly interesting Arc for Stan. Corny for sure but it could have a bit of an old school charm, like one of those old gimmick sitcoms. Usually it was cheesy but harmless, so not one of the worst despite the premise. Frankly my problem is that the blog was Barley a factor in it lol Oh boy on the next show.
Truthfully, I was one of those who thought this show was the absolute low point for Disney Channel but when I saw some episodes some of were actually funny. Avery and Tyler are the best part and even Chloe has her moments. Stan is fine but the parents can be a little much sometimes especially Ellen’s catchphrase of “Good one, Ellen” at some joke she makes.
Me and my dad used to watch this show all the time. I didn't even know this show got hate until much later.
