JFYI (oil painter here) It is fine to use oil paint over acrylic but you don't want to put acrylic over oil. You can totally do an acrylic underpainting and use oil paint over the top so your marker use should be fine.
Boy am I glad I mentioned that I didn't know what was what about oil vs. acrylic! This is so helpful to know! TFW! 💜

Oh my gosh I love all of them so chute!!! I enjoy using tissue paper lol I use to hate it but just worked on some ATC where I covered them in tissue paper lol.. oh my gosh the one with the wiener dog is my fav I love dachshunds!!!! 💜💜✌️

Oh yeah! You just spray water on both sides, then put it under a book/heavy thing overnight. You may have to cover it with parchment paper or wax paper or something if any of the color may come off on the book/heavy object....but that's how I do it -- usually it curls up again later, but it's REALLY dry where I live, so everything curls 😂 TFW! 💜
I love Bosco. He reminds me of my neighbors dog that would try to soil my border collie, until one time my guy just sat on the little guys head.

also.. you can add oil on water but not water on oil! so.... you can add oils ontop of acrylic paint but you cant put acrylics on oils. this is true on crafting paints all the way to house paints.. same as cooking.. once the stuff is oiled.. you can only add more oil or you gotta make a barrier on top of the oil to make it ready to accept water again!

Thanks for the tip about the matte gel medium vs modge podge. Its super humid where I live, so I will be picking up some of the matte gel medium asap! These are great, Laura! I love your wide range of people, from digitals to magazine faces. Such a cool style! I'd like to see what you'd do with distress inks. I have done ink rubs with that stiff white shiny packing foam and the result is really interesting. Sometimes I spray water on it, sometimes not. But I always finish with a mix of distress speckles in different colors all over the paper. The effect is almost like Terrazzo tile, and they're meant to be backgrounds, like gel prints. However, I haven't been able to bring myself to do anything except look at them. LOL! I don't know what I'm doing, but I'd love to see your version. Cheers!
