I have one and rate it highly. It is *much* more stable if the poles are interwoven at the top - in other words if each pole crosses *over* one of the others and *under* the second. That way each pole is supported vertically by the two others. The top hooks of the fly are also designed to lock both poles together at the three crossover points, strengthening the whole tent laterally as well. It's more of a faff this way but if you're expecting wind it's well worth it (and it's the way Naturehike recommends as well).
Good idea to film a pitch when you’ve done it a few times. If I had filmed me putting up mine yesterday no one would be keen on getting one. I would like to have seen a close up of pegs and poles position and also how to attach the footprint. Good tip to shorten the top piece cords.
I have one of these tents and they are superb, very sturdy indeed, a bit weighty for multi day hikes, i use my Bobcat 1 for that so i can save a bit of weight, but this cloud peak 2 is highly recommend. Great video, thanks.
Hello mate, I've just bought this tent 2022 version and going to be using it in Galloway on the 28th...so pleased I've seen this video. When I did my trial setup I couldn't see as to which way to place the top fly. Yours is the first video I've seen that explains this, using cable ties. 👍...good video mate 🙏
Hi mate thanks for watching. It’s a good tent for the money I used cable ties to indicate how the top cap goes on but you could also take 2 of the hooks off and tie the elastic straight to the hoop this would also prevent to possibility of it blowing away in the wind. It would be secured to the tent. Hope you enjoy your adventure 👍
My mate has a naturehike cloud peak 2 he has done mods to his thicker guylines and thicker bungee cord for the top to stop it from flapping in wind. I'm thinking of buying one for UK winter conditions , can't go wrong with the money for a beast of a tent with the mods make it stronger. Great video mate 👍
Good afternoon fella, great review of this tent. I made the big mistake after pitching in my garden to take away the inner as it was covered in insects etc. The problem I now have is remembering which toggle goes to which anchor point 🤦♂️ Am I right in thinking first that you connect each corner of the base of the inner (toggles with yellow hook, onto the hooks of the fly which have the tent anchors on? Sorry for the newbie question but any guidance would be appreciated as I cannot find anything on refitting the inner on youtube.
Afternoon pal, yeah the hook at the bottom of the inner go onto the hooks where the poles go. I would suggest putting the outer up with the poles. Then you will have a door either side. Lie the inner inside so the inner doors are matching with the out doors the hook on the 4 corners at the bottom. Once you have to corners connected then just work your way up going round like you would hook the outer clips to the poles. Hope this helps give me a shout if you need anything further.
Does anyone know the actual (not guessed) diameter of the poles? One blog claimed they are only 7mm, which is ridiculously thin for a tent like this. If anything I would suspect they might be the standard 7.9mm (which is still thin), but I know people are upgrading to after market 8.5mm or 9.5mm poles. Thanks.
yes i became one of the few million who own a cloud peak 2 i have not been on my first camp with it as i have only had it a week or two put when im opening the door from the inside the zip gets snagged on the door flap have you any tips on it not snagging
Great review. How did you find it for your feet/head hitting the inner when laying down? I'm 6'4" so find it difficult finding a tent where I'm not too restricted!
@@AloneAdventures I will, I was looking at the wildcountry helm 1 but there's not enough space for my backpack in there, only in a vestibule that unzips and it would basically be outside but sheltered, shame as it looks like a nice strong tent, the helm 2 is too expensive at £200, the helm 1 is £130
I need to test it in more varied conditions before I can give my proper verdict but for the money I don't think you can go wrong and seems sturdy when pitched.
I'm looking for a tent for up to £150, on my list are Vango banshee 200, Vango Nevis 200, Robens Starlight 200, Naturehike cloud up 2, and this cloud peak 2, the more I look the harder it gets lol, which would you pick?, can go up to 2.5 kg weight, I'm 5 ft 8, and will be wildcamping in Dartmoor in the highest parts in the North
@@stevenvitali7404 hi, did you get one? I recently purchased a eurohike backpacker dlx 2 man tent. Spot on. Five consecutive nights in Snowdonia. Wind and heavy rain, I did put a & 10.00 ground sheet under, it was the dogs ganglies, I recommend
Let me know if you have a Naturehike Cloud Peak 2 and whether you love it’s quick pitch time and value for money?

Thank you. Bought this and used it. I like it and it works well.

Yeah great tent I use the Lanshan 2 for long trips to keep the weight down as well, thanks for watching 👍

I’m still not sure what goes where on that part. Is there a clear way of knowing before you have the zip ties fitted - ie first time pitch?

Yeah I have a couple of mods I am thinking of doing but tent is brilliant but haven’t really tested it in any tough conditions yet
Great review. Thanks mate. Dave.
Thank you 🙏
Naturehike cloud peak 2 is come back!!!!camperlists
Thank you so much for this video, the instructions on the tent were very poor for a novice like me!
Glad the video is some help 👍
I thought so too 😢
The water from the hood drips down straight into the tent!!
Yeah that is one negative about the tent if you have anything in the vestibule area!
@@AloneAdventures i thing he doesn,t like them 😛mr mods
Used this tent on Dartmoor on top of a Tor in high winds and rain and it handled it no problem.
I’ve not tested it yet in tough conditions but hope to put it through its paces soon!
Nice review bro..great tent from naturehike
Thanks for taking the time to watch the video. It is a pretty decent tent for the money!

@@AloneAdventures Top man, really appreciate you taking the time to reply and explain over the weekend. Thanks pal 🙏
to be fair this is the tent i wish i had bought great video
Which tent did you buy instead?
How to avoid the water coming inside the tent from the top during setup? (Before you put the top fly)

Naturehike zips are crap... Just like their tents!
@@mrmods7912 yes
@@mrmods7912 there not thats the only time its snagged there zips are shit but the tent is a good tent fella.
What a pain to setup... I prefer the mongar 2 and star river 2... way easier setup.
Great review. How did you find it for your feet/head hitting the inner when laying down? I'm 6'4" so find it difficult finding a tent where I'm not too restricted!
I am 5ft 10 and for me the size is perfect when laying down my head or feet do not touch the inner part of the tent hope this helps?
@@AloneAdventures Cheers mate. Looks like it's a lot less sloped than the Jackal 2, so this should help
Yeah plenty of room to sit up in and move around 👍
I see one for sale for £62, looks like it's new but doesn't state it so I'm not sure whether to buy it, looks like a bargin
That’s cheap if it’s new? Sometimes they say when things are to good to be true they are 😂
@@AloneAdventures yes, all other places selling it are similar priced, I'm not rushing into anything, I also like the look of the Robens starlight 200
Let me know which one you decide on 👍

Popular tent and I believe they are good in bad conditions!
Anyone had problems with the zips?
I have a few problems with the zips snagging but probably down to user 😊
@Rich Reuben Hobbs I was thinking about getting the Helm 2
What's your verdict as keep looking but can't decide as seems so flimsy

Too much messing about, especially when it's raining .. There are far easier tents to put up. Three separate poles on a two person tent is archaic!
Ähhhm, ähh, ähhhhmmm, ähhhhmmm, ähhhmm, ähh. 🙄🤮
