Very good sooooo informative
Hi guys. I have found your videos to be extremely informative and easy to understand. I go back to them when I need to remember something I forgot that I had learned from you. Thank you❤️
Thanks for your effort and support, big love from us.
This was excellent. I especially enjoyd watching after I made these mistakes and acquired some of these accessories like the ND filters. Really commits everything to memory during the learning process
really very useful i learn lot from this video...thanks a lot🎉😊
Thank you for including the typed summary pages for each setting. Your content is always well produced and extremely helpful, particularly for folks like me that are just learning. Thank you very much.
You're welcome! Thank you for watching 🙏
@@Gemini_Connect It’s true. My wife commented on how easy it was to watch and understand the content. I’m older and just have shot video on a Sony HDR when the kids were little. Editing was nonexistent or poorly done with flipping screen transitions and that kind of stuff. I am trying to figure out the best way to film our son’s college football and lacrosse games. I just got the Hero 9, so it is very new (the old Sony records in 1080p at 60i but in MTS format - which is a pain). Please consider doing a video on best settings, filters, and simple edits for folks filming their kids football or soccer games. I think you’d get a lot of interest from both old and young parents that want to share those moments with other family and friends. In any event, I will keep watching. Thx.
Thank you again for sharing your knowledge. Awesome information that I will be using.
Thank you. Outstanding information for everyone especially a newbie. Semper Fi

I always learn something when watching one your videos. We have somewhat similar work flows so its easy for me to incorporate many of your setting's in to what your doing. I use the Hero 9 to make not only travel videos, but also to shoot B-Roll for drone channel. Great video, and thanks for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for watching Ron 😊

You're very welcome! 🥰
Great video! Shooting Cinematic and setting your camera speed let's say 60fps. How do you know which ND filter to use or is this a case of trial and error?
Thank you for the tips!! Low light preset please 😊
Thank you for this video! Exactly what I wanted when I searched for "Best GoPro Hero9 Settings for VLogging.) Clearly, I needed this before my last video... HAHAHA!!! Get it? Because my video was not so, clear? HAHAHA!!! I'm viewer number 42,136!!! And... Subscribed!
🤣
This is very helpful, thanks for this. I wish i had watched this sooner. I’m a new Gopro user and I have screwed up my footages by using Hypersmooth in low light which resulted in jittery videos. Do you have any tips on how I can save them? 😭
Found your channel yesterday and I wish I found it earlier. Fantastic videos and very helpful content
Thank you for watching 👌
Good One Mam..Well Explained
Thank you my friend ❤
@@Gemini_Connect you are welcome mam
hello , very informative video. I thing I would like to ask about gopro11 . do we have lens to make background blur also ?
5:28 This summary part is clutch! Saves us from scrolling back n forth through the video.
I’m thinking about getting this GoPro. When I go to Puerto Rico this summer I want to take some nice shots and videos, in land and in water.
Being an absolute novice and just bought the GoPro Hero 9 for future vlogging, this video is absolutely amazing ……. One question do you use the light filters on all modes ? And underwater settings please as in stuck in a shark tank …….. Thank you so much…….😘
What do you mean by light filters?
Underwater settings, I'd use the action settings, definitely with Hypersmooth Boost.
I love your videos, thank you... any videos on GOPROS that lock up or Freeze the display screen?... I have a GOPRO 9 and I have encountered this problem
The Hero 8 and 9 have lots of freezing problems. The Hero 10 has none, in my experience.
Hi. When you use a wind muff / small dead cat on the lavalier microphone with your Rode Wireless Go, do you keep the small foam cover on the lavalier microphone on with the dead cat over that as well (or do you just have the dead cat on it's own over the microphone head without the foam ?
Yes, high sharpness is absolutely terrible! The videos look so digital and pixelly. Love the GoPro Color! Again, love your voice too!
Totally agree 👍 Thank you for watching!
Very nice explanation. Hats off. As I edit in mobile phone so want the resolution 1080. Then what would be fps ? 24 or 25 or 100 or 200 (Hero 9) ?
Go with 24 or 25 fps for normal video, or 100+ fps for slow motion.
Have question can i use this seting for go pro 10 ? I see you use most on 4 k, can we use the same setting on all of them with 1080 p ? I am still learning and Thank you fkr thks video.
Now to go in and see how to actually change all of these settings.
Do you recommend those for someone who is now getting in to vlogging ?
Is there a way to have the camera make up for the lighting? My Google pixel records so much brighter and in focus. How can I get my Go Pro to mirror this?
Would you recommend editing software(s) for the gopro 10 other than gopro quik?
I use Final Cut X and Da Vinci Resolve. Both are better than Quik IMO.
Out of the park AGAIN. Thank you.
I have GoPro 10 black. I shoot 1080p coz my Pc doesn't support 2k editing. when I upload to youtube the picture quality drops too much. I have seen many videos and tried exporting from editing software using the 4k setting. still no use. how you do it. Please tell.
So I get there idea of travel but when you use the cinematic setting? Is mostly for the broll? Or do you integrate the cinematic with the travel? And how do you merge these 2 to gel? Thank you
Good question. We'll dive more into this topic in a future video. But yes, we save cinematic shooting for b-roll. It fuses pretty well with the rest of the vlogging footage.
Question about the Sermonic Blink 500 Pro: What are your settings for the mikes/transmitters? I’d like to end up with ONE audio track IF that’s possible (and as easily as possible). I’m more into the videos showing our hikes, etc., however, I’d like to add audio from my BFF that’s actually audible. So, my Saramonic set just arrived. What are your recommended transmitter settings (other than turning off the mute button).
Turn off mute, and make sure sound is set to Mono (instead of Stereo) if you want single track audio. Test out the mics on your subjects and with your camera to make sure the audio levels are where you want them. May need to dial up or down the gain. But other than that, those are the only settings we tweaked.
2:34 from the other videos about Gopro Settings i have Seen so far, i would really recomend Setting the white Balance to 4500k. (NEVER left it on auto)
your videos really convinced me to get gopro 9. I did some shooting in the city but the results were not very good. Especially the sky on a sunny day made the sky glow and the buildings that were white also glowed. another RUclipsr suggested turning down the exposure while others suggested getting an ND filter. Some suggested that ND filter will not correct the brightness captured by the gopro on a sunny day and will only slow the shutter speed. Could you please explain this? Thank you I appreciate any advice.
Both turning down the exposure and using an ND filter will help with shooting in sunny weather. ND filter explanation - ruclips.net/video/44lYINWF0Mg/видео.html
Thanks again - you are my go to for my new and first Go Pro. However I could not find any mic settings in preferences. Does not seem to matter as the unpowered mic works, but I was wondering...
Interesting...mic settings may only be available if an external mic is attached. It's always been under Preferences - Mods for us.
Found it. Media mod. 'Camera mic' is greyed out. When I connect the camera to the external mic the 'wind/auto' goes from white to greyed out
Can u guys make a vid on the best settings for the DJI Osmo Action?? I would really appreciate it..
Good idea! Will add that to the queue.
@@Gemini_Connect nice!!thanks😊
This is very helpful. I have the Hero 8. When I set up your standard preset I’m getting a 4:3 image. Do you edit that to fit better on RUclips? Is the Cinematic the correct 16:9 format for RUclips?
Yes you need to set it to 16:9 to fill the screen. There's a setting
@@Gemini_Connect I looked for the setting but didn’t see it. I’ll look again. Does hyperboost crop appropriately to maintain the 16:9 ratio?
@@adventureswithtime it can be easy to miss. Hyper smooth crop does maintain the ratio
@@Gemini_Connect I found it. It’s one of the RES/FPS options. Yes very easy to miss. Thanks a bunch
Good morning, I am thinking of buying the GP Hero9, in one of your previous videos (October 2020) you did not recommend buying it .. to this day (May 2021) with the updates made, do you recommend or not to buy the hero 9 Thank you, your opinion would be very helpful.
Our official Hero 9 review - ruclips.net/video/BnT__zJt1tc/видео.html
Two question, i use my GoPro H9 at my work, and i work in tunnel construction, do you have any tip on settings, all my videos is dark, and its almost impossible to bump it up in post production, (i am pretty much an amateur), and how to get rid of the blinking from led lights? The lights we have are modern led-lights and you get som kind of blinking from them, i guess it has something to do with framrate and the led-lights HZ number?
Lasse
Two things affect darkness: ISO and shutterspeed. Try setting ISO Min to 100 and ISO Max to 3200, or even 6400. If that doesn't work, also set the shutterspeed to 1/120, and the resolution to 4K60fps. This will give you the best odds of shooting in low light, BUT if you tinkered with shutterspeed, your footage will be shaky, so I recommend using a gimbal (the Moza Mini P is my favorite for the Hero 9). The blinking LED lights are due to the light bulbs in your workspace. The only way to avoid this is to use a bigger camera like a Sony A7sIII.
@@Gemini_Connect Thank you, i bump up the ISO and see what i get.
Which video editing software should we use for editing GoPro hero 9 videos except gopro quick for beginners . I normally use i movies.
IMovie is great. I use Final Cut.
Hi. What do you use for video editing? Thanks
Final Cut and Resolve. Editing Video coming in the new few weeks!
I just got the gopro9 with the 64gb pack and i upgraded to the 256gb compatible SD.. i shoot on highbitrate and i noticed it doesnt save the video if it's 15mins or longer. i get the buggy stuttery bug. how are you shooting on highbitrate everytime?
With hero 9 is better Media Mod + external mic
or Ulanzi Cage + adapter + external mic?
The Media Mod is a cleaner and more compact rig, so it is what we prefer.
Hello, will these settings work with GoPro 8 hero as well? Tks
Yes, for the most part. There are some things like Hindsight and Horizon Leveling that are not on the Hero 8, but you can replicate most of the settings.
Hello what will I do for my gopro8 for setting..I have a long video for example 20 minutes video but if I transfer the video to my phone was divided by 4...not entire video..what will I do madam?how to transfer my entire video to phone from goprohero8?
Hey, You are quickly becoming my goto source for video tech. I just started shooting on my GoPro Hero 8 in 4K 30 FPS. I edit my videos on iMovie to upload to RUclips. My first complete video (about 7 minutes in length and 2.6GB in size) is taking very long to process. It uploaded in about 10 minutes and then quickly processed the SD. But HD Processing is still running after an hour. Is this normal or have I done something wrong or have something set incorrectly in my process? As always, thanks for your help.
RUclips takes awhile to render 4K video -- sounds pretty normal.
@@Gemini_Connect Wow. It's been processing HD for about 20 hours. In your experience how long have you waited for a 4K video to process? Is there any way to speed it up?
hi ive got a gopro hero 9 and when i set it to 4k it only gives me options to shoot in 24, 25 or 50 fps... not 30. Which should I select and how did you manage to get 30? thanks
Go to Settings and find the Anti-Flicker setting. You can then toggle between 60Hz (for NTSC) and 50Hz (for PAL). I think you are in PAL currently.
Hi I just wanted to ask for hohem isteady pro 3 it works for hero 9? I read the review in Amazon they saying it won't fit hero 9. Thank you
It fits, but not very well. We recommend the Moza Mini P instead - ruclips.net/video/7nWqUHntY6w/видео.html
@@Gemini_Connect thank you so much 😊
Road Wireless go 2 mic can connet to media mode ?
Yes, it can.
I wish you would show us how to change the settings.
my footage on GoPro Hero 9 is always blurry and had some blocky images, after editing in video editing software and then uploading to youtube. how can i resolve it ? thanks
btw i use 1080 60fps
Hard to say. Make sure bitrate is high and the video fully renders and exports properly.
Thank you for this.... I just got a Hero 9 Black and out of the box the videos and photos captured sucked! They are so blurry and the video is choppy. I purchased a book, which I thought would help, and I changed the presents, but it is still blurry. The firmware is up-to-date, therefore, no miracle fix is waiting for me on that end..... I will try your settings. If it doesn't help I'm over it! :0)
Are you shooting indoors or outdoors? How is the lighting where you are? Sounds like it might be a Hypersmooth or lack of lighting issue.
@@Gemini_Connect I live in Southern California… plenty of sun. I have tried to shoot in both types of lighting indoors and outside. I tried your activity setting today indoors, it improved the blur, but still not as sharp. According to the Quik app, and several videos I have seen, the previews on the camera and app are low resolution, therefore it is hard to tell if the reduction is on point. I will keep adjusting the settings and hopefully I will get a better result. Thank you, thank you! 💚💚💚
Can I record without an external mic? Is the internal mic good enough?
Yes, it’s pretty good for most purposes
hi can i ask whats is the meaning of FPS in camera ?
Frames per second (aka frame rate).
Do you have any settings to capture high speed motion with sound?
Are you wearing the camera, or planting it somewhere to capture something going by? What kind of sound do you want? Ambient, wind noise, narration...?
@@Gemini_Connect Set in place and the sound would be whatever sound I make as I'm working. Wood working, landscaping, etc. Thank you for responding.
@@haynerbass gotcha. I would do cinematic settings if you have ND filters to balance out the light, or just put everything on auto if you don't want to fiddle with settings too much. Make sure you have enough light in your space, otherwise GoPro is not the best canera to use (it sucks in low light). GoPro on camera mic should do decently, but if you want to level up your sound, consider adding a shotgun mic or recording audio separately on a recorder and syncing in post.
