Aaah! That is so cool! It's too bad animatronics and puppets are being replaced by CGI. Same with 2D traditional animation. It really was an admirable feat to accomplish and it really is an art.
There are plenty of videos available of how to make a cored mould for casting skins. This seems to be aimed at purely mechanics which in my opinion is much more rare to see, and incredibly exciting!

Hey, Stan Winston Studio! CGI is beating out animatronics (unfortunately), but how do you guys feel about Krampus? They used practical monsters and it looks great! I wish more movies were like that!
Well, the latex foam is made from the same mold as the vacuum form that the animatronics are built on, so it all fits. To see precisely how it all comes together, you'll have to check the lesson. - David

Part one is over 3 and a half hours. Part two is over four hours. We haven't released the third part yet. The fabrication took about a week, but we weren't able to shoot it consecutively. And it goes a lot slower when you're trying to explain to the cameras as you go. - David
