Brilliant video, doing a full service on my daughter’s Note that I owned and it’s never had a diesel new filter fitted at 89k,but after watching your video I’m full of confidence to do it myself many thanks much appreciated.
Hiya "@lesnicholas2433" how you doing ? Thanks for the kind comments. The jobs a bit restrictive and there's not a lot of room doing some of it, but just take your time, make notes of where things come from and to help with the engine restart ( when the jobs finished) ...warm up the engine before you start and pump the diesel through to fill the filter BEFORE you try to restart it, it definitely helps. Having said all that it's not really as hard as I thought it was going to be, you'll be fine. Thanks for watching my video and taking time out to comment, good luck . Cheers ... Jimmy ...

Hi Darren, Thanks, you've just made my day, referring to me as a "pro" haha. Good luck with your filter, I think the diesel one's are the worst one's, petrol filters are usually better to change. Cheers ... Jimmy
Hiya Dennis, How you doing ? Thanks for watching my video and taking time out to comment, it great to get feedback from people, good luck for Sunday ! and not just for the job haha (weather too) . It's a little bit awkward but just take your time and don't loose your rag with it and I'm sure you'll be just fine. Thanks again, Take care & keep watching haha. Cheers ... Jimmy ...
Hiya "@kennydonohue5566" how you doing ? It doesn't really matter if it's diesel or air in the hand primer as there's a one way valve incorporated in the fuel line so air or fuel will be pumped in the direction of flow and not aloud to flow back ( against the direction of flow ) so should be pumped out when bleeding the system. If your bleeding the system because you've just changed the filter, it'll probably have fuel in it, on the other hand if your bleeding the system because you ran out of fuel , then the hand primer will have air in it. Thanks for watching my video and sending me your comments, it's much appreciated. Cheers ... Jimmy ...
@@jamesstringer8172 thanks Jimmy. The engine cut out and wouldn't restart without easy start spray, then ran really rough before cutting out again. Garage suggested it was one or more fuel injectors gone, which wouldn't be worth my while fixing, but I just want to try all possibilities and the fuel had gotten pretty low beforehand (without ever running out though). So I'm trying to bleed the system just to see if that resolves anything. The hand primer is full of air so if I understand your comment correctly I need to bleed that out. After you bled your new filter did you then bleed the whole fuel line right up to the injectors? Just wondering about the air that would have gotten into the line that you disconnected to bleed the filter. Thanks once more
If you've been very low in the tank, I'd refill with new fuel and replace the fuel filter too, incase you've drawn the sediment and dirt from the bottom of the tank, you'll need to get the air out of the hand primer if it doesn't start, but if it starts the "self bleed" system should cope with that. I'm assuming you have the same setup as me here by the way ! Good luck ...
Hiya Alan, sorry for the very slow reply, I pride myself in prompt replies to all queries, I have a good excuse this time though, I was in Barbados on holiday ( video coming soon if your interested haha ). Well you've probably worked it out by now, but if you haven't, the filter housing is secure to the body by a, sort of picture hook type design ( push & slide ) , give the filter housing ( part of the filter itself ) and it should pop out, as they have a very long replacement interval it's probably not been mover for a while and might be tight. Good luck with that if you haven't already done it. Thanks for watching my video and talking time out to comment, much appreciated, hope you'll watch the holiday one too hahaha. Cheers... Jimmy ...
@@jamesstringer8172 thanks for that Jimmy, not done it yet but will be sorting it over the next week or so and thanks for putting the video up it’s very informative. I’ll look out for the holiday video. Thanks again Alan

Thanks for the video. Should the hand primer be full of fuel or is it normal for it to be essentially an air bubble?

My filter seems to be in a holder of some kind, how does the filter come out of the holder?
