    If you don’t have the absolute harshest literal reading of ranni’s dialogue then you generally would come to the conclusion that her ending is about providing free will to the lands between and removing the influence of the greater will. Miquella’s way of controlling people and compelling them against their will is somewhat fascist in my view.

    a part of me feels that the point of St. Trina is that dreams can give hope. Miquella could spread love and compassion through dreams, yet it is only subliminal on the mind yahknow? much like how Marika gives the tarnished, regulars, hope with freewill and what not.

    • @Luaeria
      @Luaeria 2 дня назад

      that's a beautiful thought and i definitely agree with you. What i meant by what is the point of st trina was, what is the point narratively? She plays an almost non-existent role in the game, yet her effects and her lilies are all over the place. The only story we really get from her as that she appeared, was helpful and kind, then disappeared as swiftly as she appeared and that she is definitely miquella's other half that he abandoned in a chasm and that she wants to to kill him to spare him. So is that her entire purpose?

    I don't think the outcome of the dlcs events is bad per se, but the conclusion of it all seems very rushed and the dlc lacks the amount of details put into the base game. It kind of feels like the last season of game of thrones where the dragon lady does insane stuff. We kind of felt it would go down that route eventually but the execution came totally out of the blue without building up to it at all. I do think its boring though that miquella became the griffith of Elden RIng. The whole Berserk love letter stuff is cute as long as it doesn't spoil the story.

    please hear me out. Miquella in the fight calls us Marikas lord. St. trina says that Miquella cant be a god because its actually a cage. I believe we are Marikas lord because she represents free will. That is how I came to terms with stopping Miquella from becoming a vessal for the elden ring. St. trina must have known that even if you shed the "fly in the ointment", gods having the emotions of humans like gold masks mask says, it would actually be horrible or something or the other lol.

    I just realised something about Miquella. I thought he was a bit of an a-hole for taking away people’s free will, but what you’re saying about him doing it to show people what a world of compassion would look like could make sense. I’m guessing he would know that all his compelling spells would be broken once he shattered his rune, and if his plan was always to shatter his rune then his plan was always to give people their free will back.

    I know a lot of people are really disappointed about Radahn being the consort and not Godwyn, but i have a feeling that we have all the peices we need for Godwyns story we just hsvent puzzled it into place.
    Radahn being the consort is very GRRM. Him naming his horse is very Dunk from the ASOIAF prequels. What I do pick up is that its not unprecedented in its entirety, but it just doesnt have the same footwork that a novel does. I do think it was hinted in the base game in a way, but for a lot of people it was about following the most emphasis which wasn't Radahn in a lot of ways. Dunk is a title character, Radahn isn't.
    I feel like "the whole of it" is Marika's choices. Ranni is upending her choices. - death removal, pots, heroes, the Erdtree and the Shadow.
    Where Miquella is allowing positive chaos. He accepts everything that came before him, regardless of what comes of it.
    The irony is that if they were both in charge equally, neither absolute would be true and would be synonymous with a life and death cycle for souls. I think this dualism is the natural preset, until Marika changes it. I think both routes are problematic in nature, and that's the point - no one person reallh should be in charge of the entire cycle. In this way, neither Miquella or Ranni are different than Marika and all endings would be the same.
    There needs be room for both superclusters, both gold and silver, life and death.
    (More comments below.)

    • @VAL420

      I'm glad I'm not the only person who thought of grandmother trees and the melding harmoniously.
      Shamans both in the base game (ancestral worshippers) and in the DLC (pre-numen?) seem to be tapping into the same thing.
      And yeah you had it right, it's Bloodraven/Brynden Rivers and all greenseers. I'd love to hear you comparw ASOIAF mythos with Elden Ring more (I have several rants from the time that people weren't doing this, honestly 😅).
      I think a Saint in the game means "person who brings people to the godtree) - I'm honestly not convinced Romina isn't a Trina or Gowry type, or that Trina wasn't later merged with Miquella as opposed to a natural part of him. In the pots, being a saint means bringing criminals to the tree via meeting with them so that those people can in turn merge with the tree.
      I'm wondering if the Rot Romina found was Malenia, and that it was forcefully removed by her by the Blue Dancer after merging.
      With the jars, the hornsents main religious goal is being absorbed with the tree, so they think using this method is a kindness.

    • @VAL420
      @VAL420 2 дня назад

      I have a theory as to Marika's children being significant to the wars - she melds harmoniously, and death is removed from the world. If she kills her enemies, they will return *unless* she grafts them onto her essence. Her children are a safeguard against her enemies' souls returning to fight against her, or an attempt to.
      Miquella is the GEQ's, Malenia would be the rot. I'm not convinced these two things aren't related, as working with recycling life comes in many forms in the game such as putrescence- which is more a symptom of the GEQ's role not being fulfilled.

    • @VAL420
      @VAL420 2 дня назад

      I tend to believe that the mimics/albinaurics are the attempt to reuse putrescence and the wayward spirits, maybe even in attempt to direct the pots' souls from eachother. Again, they aren't actually dead. There is no death. That's why the knight appreciated the rest. Again, I think this used to he the GEQs original role, wrapping putrescence in godskin (which could be wood bark, and Godwyns body comes to mind) so that they become new bodies filled with reused souls, recycled out of death

      Concerning K8 streaming, as a small streamer with on and off success - my suggestion is just do it! I'll absolutely catch it whenever I can because I love your thought process but ALSO it really just gets easier as you get those first few mulligan streams out of the way.

    • @VAL420
      @VAL420 2 дня назад

      In regards to the Zamor, I think Kite is right that they're in relation to the jarred shaman. Indeed, I tend to think the mimics are her attempting to create new bodies for her already jarred kin to be moved into using the Primal Glintstone or a similar magic.
      The numen are literally New-Shaman, and the perfected ones are at the top ranks. But came fractures, off branches of the same process. Sorcerers started making "seeds of stars", which is not different to pots. I also think most noble houses, like Marais and Hoslow, are likely probably remnants of the original Shaman culture.

    great stream which captured a valuable and unique perspective that hasn't been fully covered by other prominent content creators, like i never felt the deep sorrow of rennala's situation until i heard a woman properly empathize with it like this, or considered the direct ties between shaman/numen and the goopy gloops, these connections seem major
    -the idea that miquella's future elden ring is in farum azula🤯
    -those theories about the scadutree avatar and the thorns🤔
    -potential lamprey people/wormface carvings in placidusax's boss room
    -why are the fingercreepers associated with carian stuff and rykard?? his hands even look like them
    between the deep esoteric knowledge and vivid dragon nightmares it's clear that k8 is tapped into something very special. i think miyazaki is considering analogies to real life politics and social issues
    we got to see marika's trauma with the jar making in a way that tragically explains her callous behavior, it really resonates with the words said about how people cannot overcome their brain chemistry
    miquella does seem fucked up in the head as well, from his eternal youth curse maybe but he definitely seems weird for the whole radahn situation and his approach to free will as mentioned. that being said it does feel like a waste that there aren't multiple endings to account for siding with him, i mean we can let death and the omen curse spread in the base game as stated

    I feel like I’m good at catching nuances and details in things people are saying that they’re not always aware of themselves. Sometimes this makes me really good at calling bullshit, sometimes it makes me completely crap at following a conversation. It is what it is.
