It's amazing how room temperature and humidity can affect the results. Divinity is made on a clear cold day. Meringue won't stiffen right on a rainy day.Resin didn't want to feel left out. Anyway. I really like the black border and the nebula colors of these. Maybe add a little bit, just a tiny bit of shimmer to the purple and blue to add another layer of depth. And don't forget, nebulae come in many different colors, so play with the endless combinations. (Hint: take a look at NASA photos. 😉) Except for the doming, I think these turned out great. Keep reach for the stars! 😄
haha you're absolutely right. All the good things in life can be fussy we just have to be patient :) oh goodness nebulae photos are so incredibly inspiring- maybe next time i make some of these ill use them for more inspiration !! Thank you!
I always watch your videos when I’m anxious or nervous and they always make me feel better. They’re so calm and pretty to watch. These are still so beautiful!! Wonderful job :))
These pieces are stunning, even with the slight defect. I really hope that you sand and redome them rather than throw them away. I love all your work, to me everything you make is always beautiful ❤️
That's so heartbreaking to do all that work and have that happen at the very end. I see that some of the doming is pulled away from the edges of the pieces. Is that part of the same problem? Thank you for sharing this. I will research it, too, so I hopefully never get this problem.
When I had this happen, I honestly just scrapped the piece and remade it. That amine blushing is really hard to sand and fix, if it's all through the doming. Especially if it's due to humidity, any leftover moisture will make it happen again when you re-dome it. Such a bummer. These pieces are really gorgeous, I just love your work! 💜💜💜
These are amazing! I love the black sides. I've tried to make these and mine always look terrible. You make it look so easy. I wish I could do them and they turn out as nice as yours. I've been wanting to make one for my grandson, but I threw out my mistakes cause they were that bad.
Thank you so much for this. I just ruined some of my shakers yesterday... I was so hard on myself... I'm sorry that your pieces 'failed' (cause they still look pretty!!!) but I'm happy to know that pros like yourself make mistakes too! Makes me feel a tiny bit less crappy, lol. Keep doing what you're doing!!!
i had that happen to me right before you made a post about this, and i had no idea there was a name for it or what it was caused by! super bummer bc it ruined 7 of my shakers. i didn’t think to sand and redome them though so i’ll have to try it! i really love watching your videos bc i feel like i always learn new things :) thank you!
Aw thank you for watching! Its so frustrating. I think I'll make a video on troubleshooting resin issues cos theres definitely many problems you can encounter
Hey, i understand your pain folk, i've had some of my resin pieces didn't cured properly and stayed tacky somehow. But these are still beautiful! I am a space person, i love spaces. But at least it's a happy accidents. 😊
The whole video im like what? I was just watching the preview on my home screen and I had to come comment. Those are gorgeous!! As for the blushing, I think you can just sand it off a bit
I absolutely love your videos, especially when you show imperfections or oopsies. I don't have anywhere near the experience with epoxy/resin that you do but I am curious though... doesn't the epoxy/resin you use give recommended working room temps and humidity levels for best results? As always, I learn something from you just about every time I watch your vids. Thanks so much for always sharing with us!!!!
Thank you for your kind words! It gives a room temp but didn't say anything about humidity. I will start sharing more fails for everyone to learn from, i do make mistakes more often than i show lol
I've had this happen to me as well. It is very annoying and discouraging since it takes so much work and time to do (had it happen to me on a batch of 20 shakers, not nice). Only thing to do is to sand it all evenly again and redome. Idk if exposing thrm to some level of heat also could help with the curing process. Either way, there's still hope of saving them. They look very nice either way!
It is so frustrating! I have been using a heater to warm my studio and that has helped a lot 😊 im sorry you lost so many shakers to this happening. I guess all we can do is learn from the process lol
What's the thing that you use for the back side that looks like a glue & the thing that you use to for shaker mold that look like a plastic or mica plastic or glass?? And did you use a glue or resin to stick it with the cured-resin??
I'm sorry that Shann H lady went so insane on you. I think she's actually very jealous she can't make such beautiful fails as you do lol. Even as failures these are inspiring! 💚💜💙 Keep crafting my friend! I need more inspiration!
I LOVE them!!! I was expecting some really bad goof but they all look fabulous, even the one with the crackles. May I ask why glue was brushed onto the back of the pieces and then peeled off? Just curious, thanks!
This video is really cool and i learn something. Thank you so much.. I'm just beginner want to learn about resin craft. And first i make mistakes and now still have a problem with my resin. I’m curious if that was liquid latex you use on the back of the pieces. I can’t remember if I’ve seen one of your previous video on this or someone else’s, but it’s usually used to help with the doming process, right? However, I saw that you peeled it off before the doming, so I’m just curious what the process you did here? I always hate doming my creations because it doesn’t come out as smooth, but it looks so shiny when you do. Thanks for videos like these. I think having a video on troubleshooting would be great and helpful for still aspiring creators like me. Plus, these shakers still look so amazing girl. I can only wish. Lol. Hopefully I’m time.
Yeah im working on a troubleshooting video!!! But yes the latex is meant to protect the other side of the piece from overspill when doming. Doming honestly stresses me out lol. The process i did in this video was a but different to how i usually do it (i domed the back first which i don't usually do)
@@SeriouslyCreative ohhh. I see. That makes more sense now on your process there. Lol. Thank you! ^^ And can't wait for the troubleshoot video. Thank you again. :3
I just wonder why you dont wear more PPE? Especially since that dust when drilling is really toxic if the resin hasnt cured properly. Does it just not irritate you?
You don't need to wear gloves with cured resin, only when it's uncured or still very tacky. People often do wear them during demolding, but usually it's just to avoid putting fingerprints on the cured pieces. (Or sometimes I'll wear gloves handling my pieces in my own Instagram videos just to hide an outgrown manicure lol.)
hi people i'm brazilian and don't have a lot of information here about resin in my country, someone who knows what it uses at the beginning of the resin? in the end she takes a film out of the products or what is that? it seems that it keeps the shine of the piece, could someone help me? sorry for misspellings, I'm translating on google

Hi I have a question for you what protection do you use for your face as I’ve seen many people use respirators
Yes i use a full face double filter respirator 😊
So what was the glue for? You put glue on the back then removed it once it dried?
Its a mask that keeps the rice from scratching that side while things cure.
Liquid Latex! And Reven is right. :) :D
It keeps from overspill when im doming the other side 😊 i have a video explaining it too
