Glitter sinks in resin. To avoid that, let the resin sit and thicken about 30mins before adding the glitter, then you won't have the clear type layer on the back!
Oh thanks so much lovely .. that's a great tip ! That clear layer was annoying for sure x it didnt happen to the smaller pieces but I'm guessing I really packed It in there for those xx
From the US.....just listening to you makes ya feel happy. Wish we could work these ideas out together. I am waiting for my First supplies to arrive....wish me luck...and Thanks!
@@MsMerrye oh heyyyyy lovely .. sorry just seen this !! You tube doesnt notify me of comments underneath other comments xx good luck for sure !!! Hope you've been enjoying it xxxx
That was an excellent first time with epoxy resin, you have learnt a lot from those experiments already 😎 The best couple of tips I can give you following that: Firstly, don't put fresh flowers in resin, as anything containing moisture does not do well in resin. You already know they go yellow pretty quickly, but they will continue to decompose and eventually turn brown. If you want to use flowers, go for dried ones. Secondly, when using those silicone pendant moulds, fill them right to the top and then keep adding resin a drop at a time until you see a slight raised dome. Then as the resin shrinks as it cures, the surface will level off and not leave that concave effect with a sharp raised edge. Looking forward to your next resin adventure already 😊♠
wow thank you ! Great advice .. that makes total sense about the flowers ha ... I literally picked them straight from the garden lol x And great tip on the concave ... really appreciate you taking the time to help me out ! x
Hi I'm a Resin Ace stalker, you won't find a better tutor then him, just watch out for his Alexa, she's a bit entitled. I'm trying to figure out how altitude and desert climate affect the resin. BTW I'm a new subscriber.

Claire’s Crafty Corner me too am a total begginer , I have question I bought some of the moulds but they really small and I am struggling to take it out, is there an easy way to do that? I appriciate your channel is very helpful.
You've done really well. Bit of advice: cover your work surface with a bin liner so you don't get resin on your work surface. I got resin on my desk and it will be there forever now! Also, do try adding all sorts of things to your resin. You can add alcohol inks, crushed chalk - seriously, finely crushed chalk looks amazing in resin. You just stir it in. Also you can colour your resin with acrylic paint, nail polish, spices like paprika and turmeric. And there's a great book which is perfect for beginners called 'Resinate' by Jen Cushman. I've got it and it's brilliant. Good luck, love Amanda
Amanda thank you so much xx my desk is destroyed you are right ! haaa .. I spent the morning chipping off chucks of resin with a Stanley lol xx great advice .. I do use something under the mould now much easier xx :)
You advice about different additives is great! But it's important to note you get difference results depending on the resin you are using. I've had some pretty epic fails with crushed chalk. I do a lot in polyurethane resins, and they don't seem to play as well with others.
**ALWAYS WEAR A proper Respirator mask AND GLOVES** I know my nails are shockingly terrible in this video ! I was due a refill but figured I would destroy them with resin before that .. Sorry in advance... they get wrecked on a daily 😩😩 Already noticing some editing errors here. It's taken HOURS to upload and caused me lots of problems. So some of my sentences are cut short. Apologies. I am also aware mold/mould is spelt differently accross the world 🤣 I hope the main fabric of the content is easily understood.
@@janettemoore3191 well I have now learned that you can layer the resin ... so if you want it half and half like a domino ... pour the clear at the same time as the glitter but dont mix them let them just sit xx if you want half and half like a sandwich... pour one layer .. let it cure .. then top up with other layer xx hope this makes sense
I have been doing resin for a bit now I would recommend wearing plastic gloves and as for the lighter part you can put rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle and it works great for getting rid of the bubbles
Oh...and I just want to let you know that all the resin I have done and research I have done it says to ware a mask because the fumes are bad for your lungs. 👍Just be careful and good luck
Disabled mom with a toddler & needed something constructive to do while the little one is napping or visiting with family. I had seen some of the resin crafts & were super intimidated, but your video & your excitement gives me hope & the encouragement to try this.....Thank you💖

From what I’ve seen you need to sealant on flowers first to avoid what happened here. Also with anything paper, you can seal it with Mod Podge and then use it. As far as this batch goes, I actually like the scrabble tile off center 🙂
Heyyyy Erin thankyou so much x yes ... I know now we need to dry our fresh flowers first x you can press them or put them in silica gel to dry them whole .... great idea about mod podge not tried that yet xxx So glad you like the scrabble tile off centre so many do ha ❤❤❤ thank you so much lovely xxxxxx Merry Christmas xx
Im setting my eye on resin project as well but im intimidated as shit... I'm so glad to see a beginner... your excitement makes me want to go for my goal of trying this craft.
I was totally intimidated !!! But honestly ... it's all in the mix ... get the mix right ... and the world is your oyster no rules..no limits ! Just go with it its FAB !!!!! ❤❤ enjoy x
I have been watching resin videos of all kinds for awhile now and am quite intimidated, however, Claire’s Crafty Corner excitement is somewhat contagious. I know that I’m close to making the purchase of the things I need to try this craft. Although I haven’t even tried the craft I would like to suggest that you watch the video by The Frugal Resinesta on jewelry making. She has great ideas and what appears to me to be a wealth of knowledge. The other suggest I have is to try some resin pigments to get some of the colors you’re looking for. Today I saw another artist doing a pour using several pigments, but one of her colors was spray paint. She sprayed the color of paint that she wanted into the cup and then immediately added her resin and mixed the two together and got a beautiful color. Good luck on more successful resin crafts. I’ll be watching for more videos.
@@maryellenrichards391 hey lovely ... I've only just seen this ... I dont get notified of new comments if they are written under existing ones 😩 sorry. Thanks so much glad you like this I will totally check out that channel for inspo. I too have since used spray paint in my resin a few videos back I did an art piece on canvas it came out stunning was quite impressed. Xxx thanks so much for taking the time to help me and send me in the right direction ❤❤
I was just going to mention; when I use resin, I wait a minute or two and then gently blow through a straw on each resin filled mold. For me, the bubbles just pop out! I was surprised how well that worked. I repeat that method after a few minutes if I see new bubbles have formed. It was amazing; and so easy, too. No cords to plug in and I don't have to worry about the dryer blowing so hard that the resin overflows the mold. Maybe just try it and see what you think.
@@ClairesCraftyCorner You're very welcome. Let me add that the bubbles pop because my breath is just warm enough to bring them to the surface. It sometimes happens so quickly they all pop at the same time. Of course, I always check multiple times to see if new bubbles have developed. Once in a great while there will be a stubborn one that refuses to surface. In that case I use a needle to gently pop it. Then I follow up with the straw again because the warmth of my breath will soften the resin just enough to fill in any dimple that's left and level it all out again. Thanks again for your videos and your humble attitude while showing us. Making mistakes is a part of life and we'll all make them. But you smile, sometimes even laugh, and begin again knowing that you've just learned how to do it better in some way. That's a great example to follow and I appreciate it. :)

I know it works but please don't do this you're basically inhaling the fumes off the resin which is TOXIC. There is no such thing as non toxic resin. As soon as the hardener and resin is mixed fumes are released till it's fully cured which depending on the resin can take 3-30 days.
I absolutely loved this video. Your enthusiasm is so contagious and I very much appreciated that you got right to it without a lot of chit chat that has nothing to do with the purpose of the video as so many others do. Well done Claire and thank you for such a straightforward video on resins!
Hooooray a british crafter. I watch so many from everywhere but can never find the products they use or we don't have them in the UK. But I must say your video is absolutely fantastic for a first timer. I love resin art but never tried it but I think I'll give it a go. I had to subscribe to your channel it was great to watch and learn. Thanks for sharing 🤗
i totally agree.. not enough UK crafters. Ive ordered this resin set and so I loved you using it. cant wait for it to arrive. I dabble with polymer clay too and hoping to combine the 2 mediums.
I just started with resin and it’s really encouraging to see other people just starting. I also bought all the pretty things to put in it too, lol. 😄 I’m also learning a lot from all the helpful comments. First time I’m actually glad I’ve read the comments!

Love that you were willing to share the flaws and can only suggest that when you are mixing the resin that you scrape the sides and stir stick more, as it will help fill in the negative space at the back of your pieces. I also loved your enthusiasm about learning something new!
Thanks so much Dayna .. really appreciate your advice xx it's been so much fun hearing from others and really sharing great tips to help me xx ❤❤ I will for sure do that xx
Yesss thanks so much Lauresa ... that is such a good idea ... I actually have some somewhere... I must dig them out xx making some more soon so I'll need to find them 😁😁
Hi Claire, I am relatively new to resin and a couple of things I have learnt around flowers is that they have to be dried, fresh flowers will turn yellow and then moldy after a while so I dry my flowers in silica gel for 24 hours. With the scrabble piece and anything like that I.e coins etc I usually put a small amount of resin in the mold and then stick the item onto the resin let it dry and the fill the mold with resin
Eye shadow ? Wow that's so cool I did not know that .. thanks xx I know we can use acrylic paint and chalk but I guess there is still a lot for me to learn x thanks Kathy xx
if you are going to use eye shadow get the ones made with Mica Powder, non mica can clump and not mix in well, do to the fillers used in some.. I have also used acrylic paint, water color paint (the dried stuff) When using glitter do not be afraid of the chunky stuff.. gives it a whole new look.
I have bought a resin kit & am a bit intimidated with it, too. I enjoyed your vid ... you know how when you watch vids of peeps who have worked their crafts for years and make everything look so effortless? I HATE that! It’s nice to see another resin noob working the kinks out so I won’t feel like an idiot. I appreciate your posting the good & the not so good ... thanks!
Hey Kim .. yes I totally get that ! I'm the same when I watch videos but I honestly do prefer to just keep it real and let everyone learn from my own mistakes or at least share a few things that I would do differently next time xxx I'm so glad you found this helpful honestly it means I'm doing something right xx yay ! 😁😁 thanks so much 😘😘 really appreciate you taking the time to leave a comment ❤❤
@@TheWoowoo36 sorry Clare .. (great name) haaaa sorry only just seen this .! I am so intimidated by things I dont know xx I think we all are just some dont like to admit it is all xxx hope you try resin it really is so much fun xxxx
I am thinking about getting started in this. I also know someone probably told you by now, but for anyone else needing to know- the scrabble piece may have moved because the table wasn't level. Always use a leveler to make sure the table you're working on is perfectly flat
Thanks so much Hayley .. yes a flat surface is ideal for sure ... I still havn't managed to get that part right since I filmed this a year ago 🤣🤣🤣🤣but definitely the best advice xxxx thankyou
Someone's probably already said this but if you want layers of different colours the best way is to mix up a smaller batch of resin with the glitter in put it in the mould (which can be at a slight angle, but not so much that the resin overflows) & allow that resin to set to the point where it is very thick and/or tacky then mix a batch of your next colour & add that (you can change the angle it sets at too). This is also the way to add different layers of inclusions including scrabble tiles, etc.. With the leaf or other intricate object that may not let the bubbles out, try "painting" the resin on the item before putting it in the mold. I'm a newbie too but have picked up a few tips along the way & did make some resin items when i was at school.
Draco this is so amazing thank you ! Nobody has suggested painting the item with resin first ! This is genius I need to make some flower petal pendants so this would totally work for that too ! The air bubbles wouldn't get in underneath this way I think x tha k you so much for helping me ❤❤
I use UV resin because I don't have the patience to wait 24 hours lol. Also I like that I can layer it (you can also layer epoxy resin, but have to wait 24 hours between each layer! 😂). I have used stickers in UV resin (not paper stickers though; plastic ones, like the type which are a bit 3D or look like they're slightly raised?), and I've put in tiny polymer clay roses as well. I've seen people use acrylic paint to paint tiny paintings onto a layer of resin and then pour clear resin over it to seal it, but I haven't tried that. As you said, I really love that we can put anything we want into it and the sky's the limit! We can go all out and give our creativity free rein!
I've just bought my first batch of UV resin .. its definitely super fast at drying.. I'm making huge batches though ... so UV resin seems way more expensive KG v's KG .. I think it's easier for me to pour and walk away lol .. UV resin has been a dream for connecting keychain and when I get home I need to attach necklace chains to pendants I've made UV resin is totally going to do that easily xxx

Thank you so much Jac that's amazing to hear ! Xx so glad you found this helpful honestly .. I'm still very much a beginner but I have been playing around with more xxx I hope you enjoy it as much as I do xx ❤❤❤❤
I have only been playing with resin for less than a month and have like buckets of pieces already. Have no idea what I'm doing with them but just love them! So fun!
Great first time. To keep the back from getting a resin space, full the mold half full, then gently take a toothpick and run it to the bottom. Move the resin in the mold a little with the toothpick, around the outer edge and thru the center, then fill the mold. Breaks up lower bubbles the heat can't get to.
You’re very brave to do your first resin work on video. Thank you. I’m also a beginner, and have had some good results and some real failures. Keep it up, we’re all in the same journey ☺️
Oh Penny thanks so much x I honestly love the fact that I'm learning at the same time as anyone who might watch xxx a lot of my videos are beginner ish... I just enjoy loads of different crafts xxx
Hi Claire! Great video! I'm a newbie too. One thing though please make sure to wear PPE and I've seen the comment below. DO NOT use a straw to get rid of bubbles. The reason you're meant to be wearing a respirator mask is to not inhale the fumes and by blowing on a straw defeats the purpose of the mask. Resin+hardener=toxic no matter what the box says. By themselves they are fine but it's when they're mixed! Better to use PPE or perhaps a lighter to get rid of bubbles or better yet a toothpick or tap them!
Heyyy lovely thanks so much xxxx Since this video went out a year ago I purchased a proper respirator and have been using this since .. replacing filters when needed x thanks so much for your great advice ! Safety is so important xx
@@ClairesCraftyCorner no problem lovely! May I ask where you get your respirator mask from? I've been having a look but I'm not really sure which one to get 😅 I've just been looking at Amazon and don't know whether to splurge or not considering I only do it as a hobby hehe x

Your winner is mine too. I also love the gold leaf. You need to dry your flowers in silica powder first for 3 days then it become crispy and keep its colour. Now if you want to put something in , let it set for about half and hour before you add something solid then you can centre it. Thank you very much . I am a beginner too and I am amazed to see how good are yours

Hi I am new to resin myself and I just found your channel today. Great tutorial by the way. I found that when using stickers or like the scrabble piece it is best to put a layer of clear resin and wait for that to get tacky and then put the scrabble piece or sticker that will help avoid them moving about.
Kind of reminds me of candle making. I get bubbles in my candles often. And I usually have to add more hot wax on top. I actually added jewelry to some candles once. I'm excited to try my hand at resin.
hey lovely .. sorry for the delay I have not been getting my notifications xx I tried candles once .. but used cheap stuff .. and it just does not work ! investment is needed … I do love scented candles xxx

i am a jewelry designer, i just started doing resin to try it and i love it! those molds are great i love mine. you are doing a great job so far! hint on pendants put hanger screws in when you fill the molds, support hook with a toothpick it works!
Ahh amazing Zena ... hope you enjoy it xxx I've done so many resin videos lately you might find helpful .. this video feels like an eternity ago xxxx ❤❤❤❤
I wanted to buy this exact kit but wanted to research everything before I bought the resin etc. then, I found this video, which was perfect! (Especially as I am definetly a beginner) Thank you!
When I was a child I had a 'plasticraft kit', which was basically resin, with thickeners and setters. It came with little plants, shells and colours to make paper weights in layers. You could add flowers BUT anything natural needs a preservative added first. I made a weight with a passion flower which lost all of its colour. My mum still has it! The tiny starfish and seahorse and aquatic plant had all been treated with preservative to stop them losing their colours and possibly rotting. (especially if air is trapped in with it).
Ahhh hey Marie .. wow that sounds so cool ! I dint remember anything like that when I was little .. I had an Etch-a-Sketch haaaaa that was the highlight of my youth xx thanks so much lovely .. I've really been enjoying all the resin lately xxx

So thankful I came across yours second ..watched your video and went straight to the kit and made some pendants... they look fantastic so far..can’t wait to see if they set...thanks so much for such a simple and informative tutorial.
I'm not a expert, but you can use hairspray for the flowers when using that type of resin. i've recently started usung UV resin and its much friendlier to fresh flowers. i've used both types of resin with flowers and the UV works best. If you do sand them i have found a 120 grit works good or a fine grit (for smaller pieces) for me it works better with wet sanding, and i finish my pieces but usuing a clear gloss. If they are still tacky after the cure time (which can happen if not completely cured, or mixed wrong) the gloss works great . It can also lock in paint if you use that on your resin. but fabulous job!!! Your pieces came out great!
Heyyyyy sweet ... this is really great advice thank you ! I did try UV resin but I never did get to a point where it wasn't tacky .. I just couldn't get on with it. I do use it as glue though it's perfect. Gloss is a great idea .. I am going to invest in some for sure !
You can layer the resin, so, put a very thin amount of resin let it set for a couple of hours, then put your initial, picture, leaf or what ever you desire, then add a little more resin until you complete your mold. Of course you can do it as thin or thick, you sand corners the use an adhesive spray or nail polish for an extra shine. Good job
Acrylic gems do melt with the chemical reaction that increases the temperature of the resin when it’s curing. You are so energetic and positive! (I meant to say this first). You can prevent the gems from melting if you do a shallow layer of resin first and let it cure, (the heat is less in smaller quantities of resin) and then add another shallow layer of resin let it cure and so on until you cover all your gems. It is only worth your time if it is a very nice gem. Try glass gems next time. Keep up the good work!
Oh gosh do they ? I so never knew that thank you so much ... 🙈🙈 and thank you 🤣 glad you liked the video .. its definitely something I need to look into getting glass xx
You and I started around the same time. All of your creations turned out beautifully. On the scrabble peices just let the resin harden a little. Then and the piece and then do a top coat. For future watchers.
I love how excited you were in this video. I'm new to resin too, I had the same excitement after the first batch. 😆 That long blue pendant turned out great!!
Heyyyyy Ellen, I am so glad you enjoyed it ... the excitement never goes away and it has been nearly 2 years now since this video ... I fell hard in love with Resin xxx
With the letter piece. Try pouring half, use the lighter to pop bubbles, place letter piece in and tape it down. Just one strip of paint tape over the top to lightly keep it place. Once the resin cures, remove tape and pour the rest of the resin to cover and finish.
So glad it helped M Jane x I honestly was ummin and ahhing fir around 8 months before I finally just bit the bullet and bought some xx I was so intimidated by it ... but I'm over it now just need to keep in learning more stuff x

Check out AliExpress, they have awesome prices on resin molds, resin tools, colorants, and dried tiny flowers. Another thing that works in resin- nail art charms! They are tiny and made to work with resin. As for the scrabble piece, you can try a smaller mold or to ensure it’s centered, mix up a tiny batch of resin just enough to coat the tile. Place it in the center of the mold shape and let it cure halfway then mix more resin to fill the rest of the mold shape. The partly cured resin tile will be heavy and stay in place. Like putting a weight on an item to sink it. The “pre layer” on the tile is the weight needed to sink the tile and keep it in place. Hope this helps! Very nice pieces, you did great for a beginner!!!👍🏻
Wow this is amazing thanks so much FGC ... if you dry in silica crystals small flat flowers take about a week. You can also used pressed flowers. they take a little longer. I use just a old heavy phone book, then add more books on top for weight.. the nice thing about pressed flowers is that you can pick them on walks and just add them in. it doesn't work well with thicker flowers like rose buds though.
I have been meaning to try these experiments for a while. I'm still unsure as to going about it but you have given me the extra boost that I need. You did really well as a beginner, doing things that works for you through these experiments it what matters most. What's the job is being done regardless.
Please wear eye and respiratory protection as well as gloves. It’s so important for people that share their experiences, experiments and talent to also share basic safety tips. I urge everyone to read the MSDS/SDS on every product they use, and protect themselves accordingly.

I cast with glitter have had no issues
@@karinaashmon I havnt had any issues to be honest .. not since this xxx it works really well x
I literally picked them straight from the garden lol x And great tip on the concave ... really appreciate you taking the time to help me out ! x

Im 100% with you both on being a beginner and suffering from anxiety and depression much love
I got some on my glass desk and I could just reheat it and wipe it but I guess that wouldn't work on wood!
My plan for fixing my wood us just to make a resin top on my table so it covers my early mistake.
@@chelseascott6360 no need to reheat it on glass, let it cure and scrape it off

I know my nails are shockingly terrible in this video !
Hey I have been wondering how you could get a pendant to be half clear half full of glitter/different color resin?

Herovely thanks so much for the advice... I've never tried a straw .. definitely something to have a go at thankyou x

Hi Claire, I am relatively new to resin and a couple of things I have learnt around flowers is that they have to be dried, fresh flowers will turn yellow and then moldy after a while so I dry my flowers in silica gel for 24 hours. With the scrabble piece and anything like that I.e coins etc I usually put a small amount of resin in the mold and then stick the item onto the resin let it dry and the fill the mold with resin

if you are going to use eye shadow get the ones made with Mica Powder, non mica can clump and not mix in well, do to the fillers used in some.. I have also used acrylic paint, water color paint (the dried stuff) When using glitter do not be afraid of the chunky stuff.. gives it a whole new look.
I use nail polish to color it.

Great first time. To keep the back from getting a resin space, full the mold half full, then gently take a toothpick and run it to the bottom.

Heyyy lovely... it's the perfect kit to start with for sure ! I fully recommend it xxx

Hey Crystal amazing! I'm so glad you're going to go for it xxxx
Really loved your beginners resin video, has given me inspiration to do my own.
Tha is so much Caroline xxx so glad you loved it .. definitely having fun with it xxxx
Good job
Thank you so so much Elizabeth really appreciate you taking the taking the time to help xx I'm a tad obsessed right now 🤣
Loved watching my first items are now setting 🤞. I’ve printed photos of my dad to do pendants for my girls as they miss him. X
Ahhh Sian that is such a beautiful idea xx ❤❤❤ thanks so much glad you enjoyed x
It's not going to be a resin channel she said 😂 oh Claire.... You're so cute!!! Stumbling upon this video made my day! Much love 🤗
Claire’s Crafty Corner I just learned that from another you tuber I watch. We all learn as we go along👍🏼😄
@@rosaerivas395 very true Rosa .. it's one big lesson xxx thanks so much for letting me know ❤
Claire’s Crafty Corner anytime! And thanks again for a very informative and entertaining tutorial!

You and I started around the same time. All of your creations turned out beautifully. On the scrabble peices just let the resin harden a little. Then and the piece and then do a top coat. For future watchers.
Ahh amazing ... I hope you're loving it as much as I do .. that is great advice thank you x
@@ClairesCraftyCorner yes I do! And you're welcome.
I love how excited you were in this video. I'm new to resin too, I had the same excitement after the first batch. 😆
That long blue pendant turned out great!!
Thank you so much Lucky .. that's great advice for sure xx when I try it again .. I will do it in sections for sure x
Thanks for this tutorial! I have been wondering how to do this and this video definitely piques my interest!
So glad it helped M Jane x I honestly was ummin and ahhing fir around 8 months before I finally just bit the bullet and bought some xx I was so intimidated by it ... but I'm over it now just need to keep in learning more stuff x
😂GIRL..my lord, You just made my night! Im giving you a big FAT thumbs up! U think i repeated this video about 4 times now.#1 because i ❤ your freaking accent you are adorable. "Just shove it in there! Grass leaves twigs ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE" yessss, you are right and i needed to hear that. Because i too have had a bunch of resin crap molds coasters glitters shrubs clovers alcohol ink ecetera but i have been in a stuck in a seriously depressing funk - afraid to fail and completely 🤬 up this incredibly awesome little hobby that i have been absolutely DYING to get in to . Your video has inspired me.. thank you for giving me a push "shoving me right in" i hope i get as lucky as you did!
Cheers❤
I've been crafting for ages....but this is on my list!
Its definitely something I can see me doing for longer than many other crafts xx I love it xx
It's a good job even using for the first time. Love all the results
Thankyou so much xxx
Thank you so much I know nothing about resin I make jewelry from stones ( wire wrapping) but wanted to try resin you showed me that it was easy to do thank you
Oooooo Nancy I'd love to make jewellery with wire wrapping ... I think they look so beautiful ! So glad I could show you how simple this is to do xxx enjoy xxx
Love your video and your great enthusiasm Thanks
your video was very helpful for me! I'm going to try to make bookmarks, Thank you!
Heyyyy lovely you are so welcome xx really glad it helped xxx ❤❤❤❤
Let me know how you get on xxx would love to try that x
Claire’s Crafty Corner I made them!! I used glitter as u did and they are beautiful!! I also used pigments pouring them at each end then i swirled it a little to blend a sort of ombré. Had no problems...Thank you for replying!!
@@aflowerofsomesort66 ahhh that's amazing ! Bet they're gorgeous 😍😍 thanks for letting me know x I hope you continue to create xxxx
Great Video-tutorial, thank you! For flowers or leaves I saw others use them dry, then they keep the colr. With silica gel submersed in them they dry quite fast and remain their 3D form
Thanks so much Joana xx yes silica gel .. I must get me some xxxx
The flowers were my favorite but i have heard that you should dry them first. Thanks for sharing.
Ahhh thanks so much x you're very welcome.. I will most definitely press some flowers ready for next time xxx
you have the absolute cutest personality
Thank you so much xx 🥰❤
Omg how are you so pretty even without makeup on??? 😍
Aww JoJo thanks ... I have a semi ok camera 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
For things like that leaf try dipping it in resin and letting it dry a bit first. This will remove the air pockets when you put it in your mold.
hey lovely thanks so much xx that is a great tip :)
The best way to add flowers is to dry them first, before adding them to resin, but great first attempts.
Thank you so much Sam xx I've learned so much since doing this video and now I am pressing flowers .. still havnt gone as far as using silica gel x but looking forward to that 😁😁

I'm totally going to get online this weekend and check out Ali Express .. only recently heard of them but havn't yet had a browse xx thanks for the advice on scrabble tile .. that makes complete sense ! Xx thankyooooo so much for taking time out to help me xx appreciate it hugely ❤❤
Thanks for the great video, so nice to hear another English voice. I thought this would be fun but didnt know where to start, now I do. Thanks again Gloria
Thank you Gloria ... I got swept away with resin after this video it kind of took over my channel lol xxx glad you enjoyed ❤❤
So nice to see your lovely face! Glad you’re feeling better. THIS! This is so cool. I love your tag line: “Resin: just shove it in.” Ha ha ha you crack me up. I agree with you, the tall, slender, piece with the hombre of sequins is definitely my favorite. I can see them in all colors looking fabulous. Also love the ones with the real flowers. I wanna do this. I’m just wondering what i would use them for. Not really a floral necklace type a guy...I’ll have a think on it. Love you bunches, Claire!
🤣🤣🤣 thanks BOO 😘 honestly not entirely sure that I will carry on with jewellery ... I REEALLLLY want to create a wall art piece or a chopping board or river table that's my goal ! jewellery is my starting block ❤ 🤣🤣 I just wanted to make people see how easy it is cos I was intimidated for soooooo long didnt wanna try it ... all you gotta do is mix it .. shove stuff in haaaaa simples ! (but way scientific and a lot more to it I know)
Just caught this video and laughed when you said "this will absolutely not be a resin channel ". Same moulds and glitters, daisies, gems as my very first attempts. I'm very nostalgic about the moulds even though I haven't used them for such a long time. Love your channel. X
Lainey 🤣🤣🤣🤣 I think about that all the time ... haaaa its hilarious if only I knew haaa 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Hello Claire! LOVE LOVE this video! I’ve wanted to try resin for YEARS and never had enough courage...now thanks to you I will try! I’m so excited! I’ve even seen resin used in wood table tops filling cracks or gaps. I’d like to try both. Maybe try making jewelry with plant parts in the resin...leaves or flowers! I just love the glittery parts you made...they’re so pretty!!! Love hearing you laugh Claire...love your sense of humor. Thank you so very much for this video. Hope you are feeling better. " I spilled it." It might be because I haven't slept in days or it was just that funny but I'm dying laughing! They way you said it was like "yeah I spilled it! what are you gonna do about it?" I love that you shared all your trials and errors. It's nice to see what doesn't work too, so when I get this crazy idea, I can be like, nope, already know that won't work lol.
🤣🤣 absolutely you will know don't do it ! Haaa I'm glad this has helped x I do like to keep it real .. I cannot claim to know much at all as a beginner xx
That was a great first time video about resin. I think I can give it a try after watching your video. You said you got the molds, from Amazon. I like the jewelry molds, and the long mixed multi -blue is my favorite, the purple one is second. Why don't those 2 molds have holes so you can string them?
Thanks so much Brenda xx I think the long moulds you have to screw eyelets into them to hang chains x or screw through them completely and thread rope or ribbon xx so glad you like them though and want to give it a go xx ❤❤ I love it
Loved it. I'm a complete novice and this gave me confidence to continue x
Heyyyy Maria thanks so much ... really glad this has helped you take the plunge ❤❤❤ that means so much and what it's all about xxxx you need any advice just holla xxxx (not that I'm a pro) but I've done sooooo much more since this video xxxx
Try drying out flowers and leaves first. Some of the natural moisture would cause the yellowing.
Thankyoooooo so much ❤ x I totally have a tray of flowers drying now picked 2 days ago . I'm guessing they dont take long ? xx
if you dry in silica crystals small flat flowers take about a week.
Ashley I really hope you give it a go ... it's so much fun and satisfying ! Xxx you will love it xxx thanks so much so glad you love it xx
