She's a natural comedian that flows well, shame ill health robbed us of her in Doubt, but one hopes that maybe we'd get something, even if it's a reading cause I belive she might have been amazing.

I will never got over being deprived of Tyne Daly's Sister Aloysius. I have a Playbill with Tyne and Liev on the cover and title page.

Having seen her 4 times in Gypsy, I am not surprised that she could do this, and she does it brilliantly!

Okay, WAIT. You're saying this was a 1999 concert "for Sheldon Harnick's 100th birthday." But he died in 2023...at age 99. In 1999, dear Sheldon turned 75. So...what's going on?

I’ve always loved Tyne in dramatic roles like in Mothers & sons and Rabbit Hole. I’ve never seen her in a musical live. Is it me or is this performance…kind of wooden?

No disrespect intended to your reaction to this video clip but since you asked here are some points as to why I find her performance not at all wooden...
She seems totally engaged with the song conveying mood/ perspective for every lyric. And, she's so smooth in transitioning to each different perspective.
For example, at the beginning when contemplating being rich, her face radiates happiness imagining that life. Her movements cleverly enliven the lyrics (like the staircases going up and down), and then seems so sincerely solemn when singing about discussing religion in the temple.
There are also other details throughout like how her chicken sounds seem musical and don't interrupt the melodic flow of the song.
She is engaging an audience the entire time. Too often this song is performed in more of a self-indulgent style.
But, I'm a big fan of Tyne Daly's so I am prejudiced. Also, there may be other aspects of performing that you find more appealing. For example, if you feel vocal riffs are important in songs you hear, then her singing might seem dull to you. She's a very good singer however her acting is where she's superior to many other singers.
Hoping you find this reply interesting and not critical of you.
