Same fix on FP205200RB. To be honest I’m so thankful. Living paycheck to paycheck right now and a new compressor was really gonna put my family in jeopardy of not being able to pay our bills. You saved the Victory Garden project. Praise God I found this video. Thank you for taking the time to record it.
Thanks! All I had to do was watch your video, return to the basement and as I was feeling around the switch to see if I could remove it, the machine turned on! Thanks again!
I just fixed my 1 gallon version thanks to your video! Wouldn't start. Unplugged, yanked the switch, hot-wired it. Started right up. Blew canned air into the switch and re-installed it. Bingo! Thanks!!!
Thanks so much for this video! I just fixed my 1 year old 2 gallon Cambell air compressor by taking the switch out and bending the little metal flip switch inside so it made contact in the on position. I didn't even need to order a new switch! Surprised myself that I was able to fix it, thanks again!!
Thank you so much! This is exactly the unit I had and exactly the same problem. I just took the switch apart and cleaned out the sawdust, reassembled, and it works perfectly!
Thanks for the video and the parts you used. I have the same one and it had the same issue. removed and replaced the switch and it works again. Thanks Sir.
Good stuff brother. See? A small amount of work & voila, discovery & savings…savings on buying a entirely new air compressor. Again, sir, good stuff. 🇺🇸
It's on the Ohms setting. The symbol is the upper case Greek letter Omega (Ω). My multimeter has a separate Ohm setting (With the "speaker" icon) that works just like the regular Ohm setting except that it makes a beep sound if the switch is working properly when it is switched to the on position. If you don't have the same option, use the Ohm setting and watch for the needle to move instead of listening for a beep.
Sir one question what model number yours have. I would like to know i have one that it has a fuse that keeps blowing it, any thoughts on that Sir. By the way thanks for the tip how to check a switch.
Picked up one at a house clean up, same scenario, no power, did exactly what you did(used speaker wire tho, all I had) wahhlaaahhhhh, vrrrrrroooommmm...Thank you so much for my new to me mini compressor
Well shoot. I plugged mine in and it wouldn't start I checked everything. I finally realized that it was full of air and as soon as I started using it it kicked on. This probably would have been a better secret. lol.
what if you've replaced the motor and it won't start? I've tested power from the wall and get 120 on each side, tested the motor contacts from the pressure switch and have 120 at the motor with the switch on, but it still wont start. It's a single phase 5hp 240v straight out the box
My compressor starts working and builds pressure up to 150psi but sometimes during work it will not start and won't keep tank charged. Sometimes it turns on only for a few seconds then goes quiet. Sometimes I hears something that it wants to start like air going somewhere through the pipe for about 2 second and then quiets and stays like that. Fails to keep up pressure in tank when I use it. Pressure goes low as 50psi but compressor doesn't start. Then I had to open drain valve to release remaining air pressure in the tank. Disconnect it from AC power for few minutes and it starts working again build up to 150psi again. I don't hear any air leaks. What could be wrong??
I’m not sure, but it sounds like maybe the sensor that’s supposed to turn the compressor on is getting stuck. This is a total guess, but maybe you have a compressor that needs to be oiled? Maybe if you oil it that will fix the part that is sticking. Find out if there are any maintenance recommendations for your compressor.
Yeah... I totally agree. I turn it on and leave the room while it comes up to pressure. You can get quieter ones but they are, of course, more expensive.
I just watched the video and what I noticed is that when I disconnect the cables from the switch, I remove the red from the circle side and the black from the side of the line. And when I connect the new switch, I connect the red cables from the line side. and the black on the side of the circle... I would like to know why and if it has nothing to do with connecting to the opposite
I took mine apart one time and it magically started working and didn’t know what I did , it stopped working again and you know it might have been the switch the whole time haha 😂
@@LifeHappensLetsFixIt good idea, I’ll use my other bigger, less mobile air compressor and blow it out. This smaller one is pretty convenient to lug around thanks 🙏
seriously??? why didn't you label this as how to test and replace an on and off switch......OH, because everyone and their mother already knows how to do that.....

2 mins after watching ur video I paused and connected the wires and compressor worked. Going to order the part. Thank you so much
Thanks !! Saved me spending money on a new compressor that was not needed.

Glad it helped. Thanks for watching.
Took the switch off, disconnected the wires, reconnected it and it worked! Thanks
Thank you for this video! You just helped me start my compressed that has been sitting unused for a few years.

Video Worked perfectly. Dirty switch. Thanks a ton.
Awesome. I have the exact compressor. The same thing happened. Can't wait to get home to try this!
I think I speak for everyone who heard their compressor start with a jumper bypassing the .50 switch - awesome!
Thanks for sharing! I have the same one that won't turn on, so starting with the switch!
Thank you so much sir you save me throwing away this compressor I have the same problem I am about to buy another switch👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Great 👍
Thanks for the video and the parts you used. I have the same one and it had the same issue. removed and replaced the switch and it works again. Thanks Sir.
thank you! fixed a similar model

Thanks a lot . I could not understand yesterday . It was the same ting . The switch
What setting did you put the multimeter on?

That’s probably what is wrong with mine. Won’t start. Thanks a bunch

Thanks! I have the same compressor and if ended up being the same issue
Same compressor, same problem.
Thanks
Thank you! Just happened to mine. Switch bad

I am not well versed in motors. Keep searching RUclips and I'm sure you can find an answer.
Ah, this is no less than a miracle for me. The switch was corroded or something ... from sitting in the garage! Utmost blessings!

I got the same compressor? Doyou knew of a way to quiet it down? Mine will also wake the dead. Must be a common problem with small compressors

The switch just breaks the connection and reconnects it. It doesn’t matter which wire goes to which side.
@@LifeHappensLetsFixIt ok thanks
I took mine apart one time and it magically started working and didn’t know what I did , it stopped working again and you know it might have been the switch the whole time haha 😂
It may just have some saw dust or other small debris. Try blowing it out with an air compressor, canned air or just some of your own "hot air"!

Mine Runs but is Not Building Pressure ! Any Suggestions ?
This is basic, but make sure the air drain valve is closed all the way. Other than that, I don't have any advice.
mine is a KCD5 and I can't find it anywhere
Try this link amzn.to/3QG4yZW
It IS loud alright!!!!!
Haha. I’ve upgraded to a much larger and quieter model.
Where is the fuse
I am not aware of a fuse on mine.
Should be right next to the switch it has a small round cap that says "fuse" on the top, mine keeps blowing the fuse any thought my friend.
nice video! ONE suggestion. at the end please please please STOP with the friggin music!!!
