This is incredibly helpful thank you. Ive literally been looking for this exact information. I love the landscapes with buildings in them, they're really something.
So cool. Thank you. I’m going to get some paints . I have no training but I’m trying to do art to process grief. I really like your channel, it is approachable yet it teaches me without getting so far over my head that I get intimidated. Thanks for sharing! I have my box now to get my paints!!
Beautiful approach to paints! I usually dilute my heavy body paints down with Golden's GAC100 (which is basically considered a universal extender) but it is more of a satin sheen as well. This is a great idea though especially for matte finish!
Oh wow!! Thank you. I didn't know this. I can't wait to start mixing. I also got the clear container you suggested but I'm so scared the paint is going to dry up. I noticed yours is still juicy. I'll try all this tomorrow. Thank you for the awesome tip.
The paint really lasts in there! It can firm up just a little but it’s still really soft. I leave it open when I paint too. Just a little mist of water keeps it good to go!
Oh wow, I’m autistic, have mcas and get migraines, scent means I can’t use loads of mediums and I’ve never seen another artist mention it in recommendations or videos like this THANKYOU! 💜
I’d love a video based around scents and fumes etc, especially for glue, I’m bedridden so have to order things online, and I have to send so many back bc of the scent. X
My painting hack is, because bedridden, and spasms, I can’t always use a lot of wet mediums. I do ok with waterbrushes and watercolour pallette most the time, but even with that, I sometimes throw/spill the pallette and the water mixed paint goes everywhere. I now have a rough piece of plastic, that I draw on with neocolor 2 and stabilo woodys, then pick up the pigment from that on a water brush. 💜
This one is tricky because it depends what your level of tolerance is. Like regular gel and matte medium don’t really have an odor to me. Stuff for oil painting does have an odor but I don’t notice it for acrylic. If the acrylic medium odors cause issues for you the best I could probably suggest is to stick with water based - so watercolor and gouache if you’d like something more opaque (not the acrylic on though as that might cause the same issue as acrylic paint. I don’t notice an odor from Holbein acrylic gouache though)
Hi! I do still use this as it’s more economical. If you can swing the Liquitex soft body I’d say go for it! I haven’t tried it but from what I’ve seen it’s very similar in terms of body and having a more matte to satin finish to it. I’ll probably switch to them at some point just for convenience but for now I’m enjoying the savings. What I use ends of being like $8-10 for 8 ounces of paint. I think the soft body is 3 times as much for the same amount.

Awesome! Art is really doable. Little by little. It eventually makes for a lot of learning. You’d be surprised what you can do within a few months!
Wonderful paint tip to help us all paint better-thank you. I can relate to your style of painting-beautiful!
Thanks Melinda! ❤️
I will have to try this. Thanks. 😀
You’re welcome!

That’s a great idea too! I haven’t tried GAC 100 but I’ve seen artists use it for a ton of different things. I’ll have to check it out!

The box looks do handy for quick set up, may I ask for the details? Have seen many but not sure how well they keep the colours separated.

@@LaurenBellArt if I get well enough to use acrylic again that's really helpful thankyou💜
Hi Lauren! Do you still enjoy this formula? I’m thinking of trying it out… it’s between this or Liquitex soft body.

Lauren … I might have missed it, but what is your ratio of fluid to medium body?
You didn’t miss it! Totally forgot to explain. I do 1 to 1. So 4oz of fluid and 4oz of medium body. Hope that helps!
@@LaurenBellArt thanks!
Get video. Thank you!
Try Nova color paints! High quality smooth good pigments, soft body decent prices!
I’ll have to check them out! Thanks!
