Not much is known about Little Hat Jones. He recorded 10 sides for the Okeh company in 1929 and 1930. This song was recorded during his third and last session In San Antonio, Texas.
It's a very melodic tune and not really a blues in form. The chords are simple and the song itself is distiguished by its beautiful simplicity.
Standard tuning G position capo I
I'm playing a copy of a 1934 Gibson L00 made by John Greven.
In the background you see the cover of Roy Book Binder's first LP on Adelphi Records. I came to know the song through that album in 1972.

Lovely playing, I was lucky enough to see Roy Bookbinder live twice many years ago, he plays this song, loved it ever since. Your version is brilliant also.
Oh, Daddy, you make me want to pick up a guitar and sing! If only I sounded like you.

Can you teach “Savannah Blues “ or “Who Carried You”by Malcolm Holcombe RIP?
Sorry, no time for requests (I would be swamped). Try a professional transcriber, this one is a good one www.custommusictranscription.com/
By the way I like the tone on this guitar. Always enjoy your playing.
