Jim is such a nice guy! I am not sure I would be so nice to other metal detecting channels that copy everything that I do, it gets obvious when I see Jim having great success and then all those other channels are hunting that same beach after he releases a video giving zero credit to the man whom without his skillset they would not even know where to hunt to have that type of success.
Lol! I am flattered so many of them copy what I do, as an ambassador to this great hobby I hope many more have success. However, I will not be showing hot spot locations anymore.

I simply don’t understand how people can have so much luck. I have been detecting this same beach for over 6 months. 1 hr every day 6 days a week and only found 2 decent rings one was silver with CZ’s and one plated ring with tiny diamonds. 3-4 junkers no chains, no pendent, no earrings and was able to fill a 5 gallon Home Depot orange bucket full of pull tabs and bottle caps. I have literally dug every single beep in all metal. And this is a smaller popular beach. To give an example across the street is the docks for shipping and this just hosted the largest cruise ship in the world in January. Still I have yet to find any gold anything and nothing but junk jewelry and trash.
I don't just metal detect a beach, I use data to find the perfect locations to hunt. Currents, swells and understanding how sand moves will help you become a treasure hunter rather than a person who owns a metal detector and detects the same beach. I am blessed to have 42 miles of detectable coast here in the OC that is busy year round. So do not judge yourself or compare yourself to the extremely experienced detectors who know how to treasure hunt. I hope you take to time to learn to treasure hunt instead of just metal detecting the beach.

Jim, here is an old school tip to keep water out of your boots. Take a pair of old Playtex gloves and cut the hands off. The slip the remaining cuff over your leg and the top of the boot. Works like a charm. You won't make a fashion statement but you will be dry! Bill
I hope so, but this storm is nothing like others that really produced. Swell size is small, opposing current, swell direction and wind direction are not that favorable in my area and the amount of beach erosion is just okay. Not like last years storms the brought huge erosion on west and south facing beaches.
Hey Jim, I feel for you. These "raiders" you mention are all too common these days. It is very discouraging to get to the beach and find dig holes all over the place and a ton of guys hunting. For common beaches there isn't much you can do about it. But unfortunately when you share videos of your locations you have to make sure they are generic in nature and do not show landmarks. Old school hunters will contact you to meet up but this new generation just raids a site and have no respect for the person who found it. What I really hate is places that now are overhunted by three shifts. You get the morning guys, the swing shift guys and the graveyard guys. Some of our beaches are like overplayed soccer fields they are hunted so hard. Please don't let this get to you. Your videos are easily the most fun detecting videos to watch on RUclips. Keep 'em coming! Bill
