  • Wearing glasses since childhood this topic is all time present in my life. Eyeglasses can be expensive and very so if you have very poor vision.
Not for money reason but as a person who wants to use and reuse things as long as they can be repaired, I think what can be done with old things.
Designing and making my own eyeglasses is a good hobby, really not too easy. That keeps my brain busy when thinking who to work with one mil screws and how to make beautiful and strong joints to very small wood pieces. And it is a good test of your design skill if you put on your own designed glasses and go to the mall. There you can count the of number of people who feel sorry for you. But perhaps someone asks where did you buy those glasses.

Thank you for the encouraging comment. In each video I try to introduce a new idea or a technique that was helpful to me and maybe helps someone in his projects. In this video the air sausage was a test whether bicycle tire pressure is enough to press the veneers firmly together. This sausage creates an uniform pressure which helps to compensate variations of the veneer thickness. Secondly the lens is held in in place only by the bending tension created by the laminated ring. When laminated with epoxy the ring is very rigid against bending. How rigid it is, I have a diy device to measure it. I have to think about measuring arrangement. Anyway, thanks for following.
