Ah, that is what I was going to suggest but you all beat me to it, oh well, great job. That would have brought the project to a perfect conclusion. Having no shelf would be empty wasted space. A minor point the hooks can still swivel to lock the hat in place.
That's what I was thinking. Or a simple shelf attached with metal brackets, with cup holders, or screw in ready made wooden, turned doŵles into a back board under a shelf.😢
@@CherylAnderson-qs4iq The turned dowels you are suggesting would they be like the small ones that hold eight or ten mugs? Your Idea here would be great to place the pegs spaced along the front edge of the self.
@@davidalanjonesridge9874 Actuallly, I was thinking of something shorter, just big enough to hang jackets, hoodies, maybe handbags, maybe a ⁹few scarves on, under a shelf An inexpensive option would be to cut off some of the opened ends of wooden clothes pins, & glue those into holes drilled in a board under & supporting the shelf.
@@CherylAnderson-qs4iq Ah, but if you are suggesting on adding something to the bottom of the device would that disable the use of the steel hooks/hangers?
I made one of these a few years back only I used a tree slab for the back and old hangers that we got from granny after she died, but I guess anyone can use what’s at hand, yours is very nice though, thx for showing👍🏻
Seems like making with hangars is more trouble than making with just common wood. Particularly screwing into the small dowel rods. Any side pressure on the ends of the hangars would seem to make them break, (like putting a winter coat on them in a hurry). A solid shelf across the top would be a lot stronger, tying all of the brackets together.
I love the resuse of those silly old coat hangers, perfectly good products as they are, but chopped into misshapen form and cleverly attached to a plank to permit a pseudo hanger is just out of this world thinking outside the box on a whole new level kinda carpentry flex
The value of the wooden hangers before they were mangled and raped far exceeds the value of the finished product. The same could have been accomplished by purchasing some hooks at the local hardware store. And those formerly beautiful wood hangers wouldn't be destroyed.😢
This is ridiculous. Waste of some good wooden hangers. Just put up a double row of hooks and save yourself all the trouble. And it won't stick out from the wall causing a crash hazard. 😂
I think this is a creative idea. ❤ My main issue is it bothers me to use perfectly good wooden hangers this way. For me, I would do a modification of this, using only the part around the hooks of broken hangers, so I'm not cutting up good ones. I would make it not so wide and would hang purses, belts, and scarves from it. Hats would work. Maybe add an enclosed box above it for gloves, etc.
But brilliant just the same. Or you could look at it another way. These hangers are more interesting than the boring industrial hooks. And although there is a lot of time to make them, the visual reward is quite appealing!
Brilliant idea! You only need carpentry equipment, a drill, lots of tools... easy! Carpentry supply merchants are already looking forward to profits, they will be happy to see you.
The DIY community needs more creators like you! Your videos not only showcase your skills but also inspire others to get hands-on and try new things. Thanks for being a constant source of motivation and creativity

These people are constantly looking to 'IMPROVE' Thanks for sharing your idea and the steps to get there....whether we make one or not the lesson is we need to see past what we are TOLD in everything!
A lot of work utilising three different electric saws and perfectly good hangers to end up with a flimsy strange looking structure that would not hold much weight (except for the hat he put on it)
I like when items are repurposed. I suggest a board set back from the front edge as a shelf would be a great option. Good job! 🙌🏼 I had no idea how many people adore wooden hangers.🤣

A creative idea but the end section that holds the cap seems superfluous since the cap or other light items could be hung on the same hook as the coat!

Can put a board along the top and have a shelf, hat holder and coat hook all in 1

Agreed, Danny. The tendency for the small dowels to split is definitely there but if one is careful....
So it would require a complete workshop to make coat hangers from coat hangers. What a good and practicle idea! 😄
I love your comment , very funny 😂😂😂
Agree

Why not just put up some hooks? Too much time on his hands. ❤

Good Idea, good answer.
This dude has way too much time on his hands
6 million people have watched this. That's 36 million wasted minutes. This boy should be in jail!
Could have added a shelf over hangers ??
He is a genius to get millions watching rubbish and making a shed load of money for doing it..would be silly to knock him...or jealousy
I felt like smashing my phone up after watching this!
I love your creativity. Ideas like yours are encouraging. Keep them coming and never be satisfied with traditional ways of doing things
Such a sick idea! I love it thanks for sharing with people. Really nicely done
Clothes hangers like this beauty shown here, do not get old! They age wonderfully.
There’s no such thing as old clothes hanger!
One bump and they would snap off ... not very practical in a workshop where a simple hook would suffice.
😮😊❤🎉
❤ From the same guy who brought you 4 repurposed ideas for used toilet paper 😮
...and you too can turn clothes hangers into something to hang clothes on.
I'll never get that time back. There are easier, cheaper ways to make a hat rack.
That's a good idea that's looks good. I think it'd be pretty cool put a plexiglass shelf on top
Great idea.. if you fitted a piece of 9mm ply on the top you have got a nice storage area for small items
Love seeing assemblies or combos using unusual items for new purposes - makes me think!
Add some shelves and doors...then u have a wardrobe !!! 😂😂😂
Seems like a lot of work for using them for their original purpose.
Yeah, but it looks better, is far more organised, and doesn’t rattle around like normal hangers do. 👍🏻
Nette Spielerei, aber solche wunderbaren Bügel benutzt man für weitere 50 Jahre.

Very smart idea. Looks great. I see these old hangers at times in thrift stores. I think I will pick some up next time I see them.

Upside down hangers! They didn't look unusable at the beginning. Well, I guess you'll do anything not to be bored.

Where do you find old clothes hangers in that good condition? Seems like they're not that old. Simple "?" hooks work well too.

It requires a lot of (expensive) tools and how soon will the hangers break..... maybe
You can't find hangers like that anymore! They worked so well
that they were discontinued and replaced with the junk we have today.
That's unique and i love unique things!
