- I can't say I've ever seen this before - an announcer during the Denver Nuggets and Detroit Pistons game just called out refs for ejecting Nikola Jokic by name! we'll cover all that and more on today's NBA basketball video!

@@SpeedDemonReacts many commentators today don’t speak out against reffing like Blaha did that game. Some are quick to do it in favor of their own team, but not so quick for others. If it’s their job, then not many do it the way Blaha just did. After all, that’s why a whole video was made about it.

Jokic frequently gets mauled in games as you can see from the scars on his arms. These maulings result in a mediocre 5 free throw attempts per game.
Exactly, whereas Embiid gets 15+ FFAs a game as he flops and milks for fouls, hence leading the league in PPGs as he gets to the line more than Joker!
It’s insane to me that people try and argue that Jokić gets called the same as Giannis and Embiid. I legitimately think those people either have brain damage or are blind. There is physical evidence of the opposite being true, not to mention just watching games and sports media and seeing how blatant the favoritism is.

It's not always about what you see tonight. It could be a lingering battle between the two. I know. I officiated for about ten years. Certain individuals just get a ejected sooner & they know they will but their ego won't allow them to shut up.

Jokic getting hacked like no center is hacked in the league past few years. Nuggets are first by points in the paint and last by free throws.
It literally took Aaron Gordon questioning it last season for ref's to start calling foul's on Joker but the consistency is bad as Jokic has the scars to prove he gets mauled!
Only Draymond Green is allowed to bark at a referee for 2 minutes straight and not get a tech.

There has been a recent study: in the last 2 seasons, among the top 20 players in the league, Jokic is dead last on missed called aginst...by FAR! He leads the league in points in the paint and He still doesn't get half the FT of many guards or soft floppers like Embiid! It has gotten beyoind ridiculous...He is breaking the league and refs are fighting so hard to prevent it! We got robbed against the Lakers 3 years ago in the playoffs and we were told...when He will be MVP He will get respect. Then He got 2 MVPs and we were told, become a champion and things will change. We just became champions and WE ARE LAST IN THE NBA IN FREE THROWS PER GAME!!! GIVE ME A BREAK, THIS IS MAFIA!!!

Welcome to Ref-ball. Joker had a reason to be upset and was getting mugged. I don't what he said and there is a 50/50 chance it wasn't even in English. Refs need to just call the game, had the refs done their job and called either of the two fouls on the previous play, this is a non-issue.
Worse was the Giannis ejection, that was one solid cart of manure.

I've been watching the NBA since the 80s when I was in grade school. Refs have always been this way. They've been ruining the game 40 years. Great video.

Watching him shoot 3s to avoid the mugging in the paint is the result. The only way to beat crooked refs is to shoot 3s where they don’t call charges and do call touch fouls…

What I hate is the refs waiting to see if the shot goes in before deciding to call the foul. That is not in their job description. If it is a foul, then call it.

I also believe that many fights between players, literal fist fights, start when Refs simply mess up. When I used to play, our coach explained that if Refs are making unballanced calls and the players of one time are getting hit physically by the other team, without any Ref calls made, the players who get hit all the time, will "handle" it themselves.
Biggest fax i ever heard. When i used to play. Sometimes we would loose literaly cause the ref. and the coach would just say "forget about the ref. You need to learn how to play and win even with a 6th player on the court." indirect way of saying : the refs are part of the strategy of the game... we were the fastest team in the league and we won games because we ran the court a lot, executed fastbreaks very well and attacked the basket at an insane efficiency. The refs clearly gave us no calls that year because we would wreck everyone on bonus. So they tried slow us down to make closer games. So when we would loose composure, we would loose because the other team gets 20 free throws and we get 5. Because the refs could see our frustration and add salt to injury. The more you get mad the more the refs bugs you. They need to make the game interesting you know. Took me years to understand.

Also, Kristaps Porzingis has the most techs in the league, and the Celtics almost lost vs the Grizzlies cause of it. Most of them have been hanging on to the rim too long, or getting mad at themselves. Refs need to chill…
Kristops has been balling this season, but seriously he doesn’t even hang on the rim that long he hangs because he dunks with power so his lower body swings a bit so he has to hang so he can get off the rim safely and not get injured. Which by the way is actually completely legal and there is actually a sub rule allowing this in those instances because they don’t want the players risking injury 😐.

probably has to do with inside sports gambling, certain teams are supposed to lose or win ect. seems to be kind of a joke now with all these weird calls, they let alot of double dribbling and traveling occur when its convenient for the refs or whoever is majority betting on that team. its all about money

He said all the refs had a meeting before games…and went over how many times certain players were gonna go to the line and how many points they would score. And what fouls to call and the narrative. It’s quite shocking

When a commentator from an opposing team says this, goes to say how bad refs are in the NBA. They have to be fined and held accountable when they make bad calls and when they cost a team a win or loss.
This began last year as the NBA was concerned about the players aggressively arguing with the new influx of inexperienced women refs. The NBA knew it was a bad look and mandated all refs to have a shorter threshold. THIS is what happens to mens sports when you try to enforce a new dynamic and then force civility in a sport where men can become heated.

Joey Crawford was one ref that was out of control. I was at a game in row seven and said 'He's out of control' rather loudly. He stopped play and looked in the stands. What a nut.
Years ago it took players to go headbutting each other, literal rumble to get tech and get thrown out of the game, now just a small complaint on the ref and when the ref doesn't like it they can just easily throw you out. Unbelievable.
I think world sports are coming to a time where referees need to be put in their place. Soccer/Football in general has used VAR (video assistant referee) to make calls (and non calls) that support either an agenda or just supporting the original decision no matter how wrong it is. Refs needa be ejected/banned the same way players are; if not more harshly. It’s shameful to see this type of bs happening more and more.

Being a curry fan I watched this man get grabbed, scratched, and just straight up jumped almost every single night for the past 15 years and the refs let it slide. There’s a hole compilation of no calls for curry even when he doesn’t even have the ball. I know the pain and frustration. When the warriors lost to the nuggets they were mauling tf outta Jokic and the refs were RIGHT THERE. I watch lebron basically take a rasengan to the face and the refs process unit just shuts completely down. Something has to be done. Giannis getting tossed for mean muggin, Klay and the other guy getting tossed because draymond decided he felt like practicing his BJJ on gobert, Tatum got t’d up for clapping at himself. I love the new era and I personally believe it’s the most exciting era to watch but the refs are definitely a huge buzzkill and it sometimes becomes to much to watch tbh
Even if you're a Pistons fan imagine going to see your team play the best player in the league and having an idiot ref toss him in the first half. The NBA better do something about the officiating, refs that are never noticed during a game are the ones doing a good job. The players are the ones who drive the bus, more than either the NFL, MLB or NHL. The only place players have more leverage is in the PGA.

Solution: Still give players T's for arguing, but don't throw them out of the game for 2. Give them unlimited T's. Only throw them out for flagrant 2's.

I see this as a three-party food fight. The NBA like the MLB seems to enjoy these dramas between the players & the refs. I think they purposely create rules & such that instigate tension between players & refs. I think many ''fans'' view on TV hoping for a fight. The players don't understand how hard it is to call a game with such big bodies & such physicality that isn't natural to the game. Both parties are over-worked but making more money because of the long season so they don't complain.
Refs needs to face ejections and suspensions for missed/wrong calls and need to be regularly vetted to ensure they are not corrupt.
Even the Commentators were being more truthful than the damn Refs.

The refs are absolutely horrible this year. All the veteran guys have retired, and the newer refs, who all seem to be tiny, are intimidated by the size of the players, and they call really stupid techs when the players try to approach them. Jaren Jackson was the DPOY for 22-23 and he doesn't even get ONE GD call, every time he moves they call a foul.
I feel ref’s should answer questions after the game on why they made these calls. Your man enough to call it, then be man enough to explain why. Players answer questions everyday.

This isn’t the refs, it’s the NBA. It comes down from the top. This is how the refs are told to call techs.

Prime example; Eric Lewis just last year was found to have potentially had a burner twitter account in a controversy that spilled out to him potentially rigging games in the Celtics favor. Leads up hint that Celtics always had favorable odds in games Lewis reffed for them and that he was potentially betting on the games. League opened an investigation. Lewis announced he was quitting. League decided to just close the investigation just like that because he said he was leaving. No repercussion at all. It would have not only damaged ref credibility and proved of fixing but also could have amounted to a league wide bust if found Lewis had associates, and they just closed it.
Players cant even critique refs even a little without having a 5 figure fine slapped on them. Only calling them corrupt can even get you suspended. They have absolute authority and it goes unchecked.
Fire all these entitled refs.
