Cap00 you mentioned in this video a couple tricks to get zombies to fall into a hole by adding a ladder or something. Could you do a video on this and possibly elaborate? Thank you!
Capp00 thank you, I'll go look for it now. I usually play using a type of fall pit. My most current fall pit works rather well but originally it was difficult getting the zombies to fall in. I absolutely love your videos and I'm very grateful you do them.
It doesn't actually help in this instance, I've tried it and night vision. The problem is youtube. Everything is darker when youtube compresses it. Which is why me and so many other keep our mining lights on all the time, so you guys can see. :)
So a base backed up to the radiation zone hypothetically has one general direction (possibly more if the base is set up in one of the curved borders of it) that zombies won't be charging in from directly. Interesting.
Holy shit. You do 7dtd now? Wow. I remember when you did all that MC, Black ops, and Terraria. Damn it’s been years, and I mean years since I’ve been here. But I do love these new damn 7dtd videos doe!
hey capp00, can you test out how to keep zombies from spawning in the base? I randomly get spawns in my house but not the underground base. I've searched google and people tell me to use the claim box and bed rolls but I've always had them in my base yet they still spawn sometimes. Some people tell me to replace all of the poi boxes with my own. I hate finding a cop zombie sleeping in my house just so it can explode and destroy my stuff. Also thank you for your informative videos, I love them all.
Dude, that legit should not happen. Is your base lit up well? Might be too dark. I don't drop land claims or anything, and I still have not had that happen...ever. Try lighting that sucker up like 1000 suns and let us know how you go :)
Capp I love your videos. You are always so informative. A lot of the information you provide has been used to make my own play throughs more stream lined. When I'm base building I think a lot about your videos and what will and will not work or how something will work with the zombies. Thank you for testing these things because a lot of times, us console plebs can't test things as thoroughly.
@Capp00 I'm sorry but I disagree with you. You can survive and I uploaded second more detailed video about it: ruclips.net/video/S2QOMJ9MktM/видео.html
You are welcome to disagree, but it's not a debatable topic. Unless you mod the game, or edit system files, the radiation zone is the edge of the world zone. It will always hurt you unless you have god mode on.
It's so long because I'm showing that there are not modifications and such... As it's said in my comment: Very Detailed Video. There are no video editing also. That's why it's so long :D
No, the spawn in a certain distance from your current location. If they only spawned at 0/0, it would be way to easy to avoid. Because it would take them half the night to get to the top corners of the map, if your base was there.
thanks for the video. one question, and i'm not sure if you already covered it or not, but can you tunnel under the radiation zone and not take damage? just wondering, cause in RL if you build deep enough it will stop the radiation from reaching you, perhaps not for ever, but for a while.
Yeah, Capp00 hit the ground too hard. No additional status updates since he is in God Mode (maybe?). Would be fun to test to see what all hurts you in God Mode. Zombies Angry Animals (Puppy, Vulture, Snake?) Ground Impact (both regular falls and flying down. What about sideways impact into the side of a mountain?) Spikes Cacti Electrocution by Hitting Vending Machines Mines in Wasteland Biome Self Damage from Player Explosions (Exploding Crossbow Bolts and Rocket Launcher) Thirst Hunger Heat Cold
Cool, answered some of my questions about the spawning, alot of potential here! Is there any way to bait zombies to go in a direction or different path? or is the player the only bait / path setting thing in the game?
In previous builds, you could throw a rock and it might distract zombies a little bit. Not like old Metal Gear Solid enemies, but a little. Other than that, no. They go by line of sight mostly.
Actually your earlier videos showed that zombies go for a door or ladder that leads to you. You could build a path or two to your hanging base through doors and build your zomb defenses there.
Idea: dig a spot out in the zone and fill it with water like 3 blocks deep and see if that does anything. On starvation mod it works in their rad zone. Maybe if the dmg is same purpose it would work
Does the pc version of 7DTD have the dreaded MD5 issue? I believe that's what it's called. Basically a map rewrite that causes you to lose everything that isn't in your or your minibikes inventory. I'm on console and am sick of losing everything I spend countless hours acquiring. If not I may be switching to pc gaming, lol.
Capp, if you look in the cm there is a button that says dev blocks (developer blocks) this includes stuff like road signs, bedrock, sleepers in different positions and the gasmask. They are for the devolpers to work with, that's why you cant wear the mask. Hope this is useful! Keep creating awesome content my dude!
Oh I know, that's where I found the gasmask :) I just had a lot of people telling me in previous videos that if I had worn 1 on top of the other stuff, I wouldn't take damage. And thank you for all the support bud!
That would be cool, but no, it's not the blocks that's irradiated. It's the chunk. If you dig up the dirt, and move it somewhere else, it's just regular dirt again.
Ok so I assume you killed the bear since it is laying dead to the north of the road when you start talking about building the base over the edge of the world?? Also, on XBox the stags die a lot faster, all the other animals die except bears, we don’t have boars.
Capp00 well rats, I was hoping maybe they eventually died in the nuke zone. It makes sense if you think about it, the bear, dog, boar and wolf too (I guess) are irradiated like the zombies so more radiation wouldn’t hurt them. The stags, rabbits, pigs and chickens seem pretty normal like humans so radiation is a killer for them. I love the green feet on the bears.
Sweet, questions answered! Great info Capp. Two suggestions, if you're doing night video, grab some night vision goggles. You should be able to see them spawning. Another is us a line of torches to delineate the radiation zone, like one on each side of the road and a couple further apart... when you come back... which may be never. ;)
Thank you :) Ive used them in the past. Problem is, during blood moon hordes, it is much darker. The goggles help "me" to see better but the way youtube compresses videos, it doesnt help you to see. Still too dark, but now green instead of red lol
They spawn from different locations and directions too. It's all random. I've used them in lots of videos. They seem to come more from the direction I'm facing than anything, but can't prove that.
:) Ive used them in the past. Problem is, during blood moon hordes, it is much darker. The goggles help "me" to see better but the way youtube compresses videos, it doesnt help you to see. Still too dark, but now green instead of red lol
Capp is right. Not to mention that night goggles are kinda awful, as it's all grainy, and you still can't really see much. I personally refuse to use them. Would prefer a mining helmet, lol!
Is there any way using a bucket to fill a hole with water deeper then ankle deep? When ever I try and make a water tower or pond it seems like I can only get a tiny amount of water per block wide but depth doesn't seem to matter. Am I doing it wrong?
Water is wonky at best in this game. If the hole is 1-2 blocks deep, it seems to only fill it about ankle deep. If it's 3 blocks deep, you can sometimes get it to fill up to waist high. It's a pain on a good day.
Capp00 really, because I play on console and a few times I've bumped in to a bear that was on the other side of a mountain but they don't attack me. But I do see them attack zombie's sometimes.
I've had bears come after me and kill me on PC and on PS4. Not fun early game when you going back for your loot & you have no additional weapons and the bear is still there.
I've answered this before, but night vision goggles during the blood moon don't make it easier for YOU to see, because YT's compression makes the videos darker. I've used them before in videos during the blood moon, didn't help. So instead of dark and red-tinted, everything is dark and green-tinted.
Back to the radiation zone? You're going to grow a second arm soon.
Patrick Towey lmao so he only has 1 arm right now?😂
I already have a second arm. ;)
lel
Cap00 you mentioned in this video a couple tricks to get zombies to fall into a hole by adding a ladder or something. Could you do a video on this and possibly elaborate? Thank you!
Hey there. I did explain it a little bit in my video of a fall pit with blade traps if you want to check that out.
Capp00 thank you, I'll go look for it now. I usually play using a type of fall pit. My most current fall pit works rather well but originally it was difficult getting the zombies to fall in. I absolutely love your videos and I'm very grateful you do them.
My pleasure. I'm glad you enjoy them and find them useful :)
Capp night or turning the gamma up would have really helped out on this video. Thanks for testing though.
It doesn't actually help in this instance, I've tried it and night vision. The problem is youtube. Everything is darker when youtube compresses it. Which is why me and so many other keep our mining lights on all the time, so you guys can see. :)
Maybe mining hat light ? I see other youtubers using that for night time videos.
So a base backed up to the radiation zone hypothetically has one general direction (possibly more if the base is set up in one of the curved borders of it) that zombies won't be charging in from directly. Interesting.
I believe so, yes.
Nice video Capp00, still cant figure out how to make the blocks that are at the prison. Lol . I learn alot from your videos. Keep up the good work.
Thank you sir!
Holy shit. You do 7dtd now? Wow. I remember when you did all that MC, Black ops, and Terraria. Damn it’s been years, and I mean years since I’ve been here.
But I do love these new damn 7dtd videos doe!
:) Gotta evolve. I'm glad you can still enjoy the videos after all these years.
hey capp00, can you test out how to keep zombies from spawning in the base? I randomly get spawns in my house but not the underground base. i did and i still have zombies spawn in my house

Try lighting that sucker up like 1000 suns and let us know how you go :)
it seems the animals which can attack take no damage from radiation and the passive animals do take damage, did you test chickens aswell btw?
I did, off camera, because I had forgotten about them while recording. They died instantly like the rabbits.
Probably works for the pig too, since it runs away while the boar attacks back.
@@ladwarcoffee I've chased pigs into the radiation zone and seen them die (playing in xbox)
The zombie that went in to your house is a fan and wanted meet you instead you killed him ;)
Well now I feel bad. Thanks!
;)
you can actually make that base float if make it hand to a couple of plates , so zombies won't ecen be able to attack the building .
I've very thankful for that :)
it's the first time i saw what's on the other side.
scary.
Excelent !! thank you
My pleasure. Thank you for watching :)
Well I reinstalled the game in this video so I didn't modify anything... watch it.
I clicked on it. I'm not watching an hour long video. If you can tell me a timestamp of where to watch, I will.
It's so long because I'm showing that there are not modifications and such... As it's said in my comment: Very Detailed Video. There are no video editing also. That's why it's so long :D
Yes a capp vid
Glad you get excited about them :)
I thought they came from the 0/0 Co ords direction..... supposed to be "ground zero"...?
No, the spawn in a certain distance from your current location. If they only spawned at 0/0, it would be way to easy to avoid. Because it would take them half the night to get to the top corners of the map, if your base was there.
It seems that no entities that could be hostile can takes Rad damage. Probably to keep players from trying to kill enemies with the area.
have you tried crossing radiation zone on full speed minibike?
Isn’t a heavy bandit mask a gas mask ?
Looks like they used some scrapped parts of a hazmat suit but no.
thanks for the video.
one question, and i'm not sure if you already covered it or not, but can you tunnel under the radiation zone and not take damage? just wondering, cause in RL if you build deep enough it will stop the radiation from reaching you, perhaps not for ever, but for a while.
Check out the previous video ;)
Capp0 get a bunch of minibikes tohether and then have their lights on
3:09 wait. Did you just. Take damage in godmode. Oki Doki.
Bears suck. lol
Lol, looked like rad damage when the stag died
I think you took damage because you pressed the fly down key too hard and smashed into the ground. We would have heard a Bear or something else.
WishYourLife I dunno, wouldn't he have a broken leg then?
Yeah, Capp00 hit the ground too hard. No additional status updates since he is in God Mode (maybe?).
Would be fun to test to see what all hurts you in God Mode.

As far as I know, it doesn't change how it works in standard mode, because it's based on the chunk, not the blocks.
So perhaps the passive animals die, but the ones that attack you don't. Either way, I can now get my radstag meat. Thanks Cap
Happy to help. Might want to take some Rad-X first, just in case.
Do you think that if I plugged in a keyboard Into my Xbox I could press f3 and bring up the debug menu?
I don't honestly know. Not sure if the debug menu is available on console.
I haven't ever seen it myself. That seems to be a console specific bug.
Capp00 Ok, thanks. Enjoy your content btw. Have picked up a lot of useful tips. 👍👍
Capp, if you look in the cm there is a button that says dev blocks (developer blocks) this includes stuff like road signs, bedrock, sleepers in different positions and the gasmask. They are for the devolpers to work with, that's why you cant wear the mask.

And thank you for all the support bud!
Actually, do a video on the dev blocks pls. Me and my brother would appreciate it
can you harvest the radiation blocks and could you use them around your base in multiplayer to damage others?
That would be cool, but no, it's not the blocks that's irradiated. It's the chunk. If you dig up the dirt, and move it somewhere else, it's just regular dirt again.
Show us your base
Ok so I assume you killed the bear since it is laying dead to the north of the road when you start talking about building the base over the edge of the world??

It seems Wilhelm is still wandering around out there looking for more human flesh to feed on.
A missed opportunity if ever there was one.
Sweet, questions answered! Great info Capp. Two suggestions, if you're doing night video, grab some night vision goggles. You should be able to see them spawning. Did the zombies die or despawn after they fell of the edge of the world?
Ya know, I'm not entirely sure honestly.
What about swimming underwater in the radiation zone?
Still affects you.
they onely spawn in the rad zone in random gen as sleepers in POIs .
Another fun one. I am surprised the other animals don't take damage in the radiation zone. Keep those videos coming. Thanks
I was too. Seems the dangerous ones are immune. Thanks for watching :)
Should set up Olympic events, lol
That could be fun. I bet Sylvia takes the gold
Can you please explore the ocean? anything good?
There isn't an ocean. There are some lakes. But nothing in them.
Watch which directon a wandering horde comes from.
They spawn from different locations and directions too. It's all random. I've used them in lots of videos. They seem to come more from the direction I'm facing than anything, but can't prove that.
I thought it used to be that 0/0 was the HUB city, where they came from, but since a past update, 0/0 no longer was. V12 thru V16 it changed then
If you ever need a test subject, or bait, let me know. 36+ years gaming experience (I''m 44, but a gamer at heart. )
I always find 0/0 and mark it as "zero" on my map.
Another great video Capp. Keep it up mate.
Thanks bud!
will you still get radiation if you dig below it?
The first radiation video tested this.
use night googles next time :D
:) Ive used them in the past. Problem is, during blood moon hordes, it is much darker. The goggles help "me" to see better but the way youtube compresses videos, it doesnt help you to see. Still too dark, but now green instead of red lol

Capp00 thank you
Capp, make a pun ;)
Do more 7 days to die. I love your videos
Thank you :)
Do bears automatically attack you when they see you or not until you hit them?
If they see you, they will come after you.
Capp00 really, because I play on console and a few times I've bumped in to a bear that was on the other side of a mountain but they don't attack me. But I do see them attack zombie's sometimes.
You got lucky :)
I've had bears come after me and kill me on PC and on PS4. Not fun early game when you going back for your loot & you have no additional weapons and the bear is still there.
I have too. Very annoying to see the thing that killed you camping out on your dead body. I see that in Ark too. lol
Really enjoying these radiation zone experiments:)
I'm glad to hear that, I've enjoyed doing them :)
Why not use NV goggles? Nice vids though.
I've answered this before, but night vision goggles during the blood moon don't make it easier for YOU to see, because YT's compression makes the videos darker. I've used them before in videos during the blood moon, didn't help. So instead of dark and red-tinted, everything is dark and green-tinted.
Capp00 ah, sorry for making you repeat it then. Thanks for the response.
No worries :)
Great vid capp
Thank you good sir :)
