  • This weeks (months) project is a beer tote / beer caddy. Made from Maple and Cherry. Finished with Teak oil.
    I was originally using Walnut instead of Cherry but ran out of wood, so some shots show the Walnut. Sorry if it's confusing!
    I cut a lot of sanding and finishing from the video. That's not fun to watch (or do!). But I did a few stages of sanding at different grits and 2 coats of finish on the entire project.
    This item will be a raffle prize at my upcoming Stag and Doe. Filled with beer of course!

      I don't have the item anymore, but I believe it was 5.5" deep, 10" long, and 10" tall. Give or take. I ended up just buying 6 beers and measuring based off that.

    What a great video, congratulations! What do you think of soda openers made of zinc alloy?

    • @mccrone
      @mccrone  2 года назад

      Thanks! I actually didn't consider the material the openers were made from. I believe I got these ones on amazon at the time. Is zinc a lot weaker?

    Brilliant, one the best builds of a beer caddie i have seen. You should make a pile of them and sell em, i'm sure you would make a bit of cash. Do you have any dimensions or a PDF?
    Just checked your other videos and you stopped 5 months ago, pity cause your work is good and i would have subscribed to see more of it.

      Thanks Barry! I actually got comissioned to make another one for Christmas so maybe I'll film that as well and post accurate dimensions and provide plans.
      I got married recently so that's why no videos. We did everything ourselves and it was a ton of work. But I got 3 videos on the way, one I hope to post this week. So you picked a good time to find me, haha.
      Thanks for watching!

    Great project and I would love to make a few of these myself. Could you share some dimensions perhaps?

    • @mccrone
      @mccrone  7 лет назад

      Thanks William! Sorry for the late reply but I was looking for my notes when I made this. It looks like the dimensions are 122 x 183 + tht thickness of your dividers. I think mine were 5mm.
      I recommend just grabbing 6 bottles and testing before ya make any cuts though. That's how I came up with my final sizes.
      I got commissioned to make another one of these for Christmas so I'll try and make a followup video and put dimensions in that one.

    what is the dimensions?

    • @mccrone
      @mccrone  6 лет назад

      The dimensions are 122 x 183
      I recommend you just get 6 beers and measure around them. In Canada we have pretty standard cans/bottles so it's relatively easy. Be sure to account for the thickness of your dividers as well. Mine were 5mm

    why do a video of building something with no info on what you're doing? what a wasteful beat off session
