This is very funny to watch now, lots of very bitter people who were on the periphery of the band, who thought they were oh so important and who will now be eating their words. Robbie’s ex-manager especially seemed like a nob.
That's why I love Howard. Down-to-earth, wise, self-conscious, he keeps doing what he had always done in his life, doesn't need to stake his claim to fame like any Robbie coming out of nowhere does, and Robbie did it, always did, because he could never expect he'd be such a star, so he became big-headed... Gary always expected he'd be a star, instead, and the backlash was painful indeed... Mark couldn't go on being a baby beauty, he needed to grow, all he could do was looking like Robin Gibb when he stepped out of Bee Gees, and that was it... Jason is a humble man, he'll always be, I don't even think he cares much about the way it all ended up... Howard's got a different class...
This documentry is very Nigel and Robbie orientated! I love Mark's and Gary's solo stuff, Howard is an extremely talented DJ, dancer and singer and Jason is the most under rated member! He's a great all rounder and the more relaxed member. Sure Nigel was brilliant to them but there is a lot more to this whole story than this documentry lets on.
This documentary is funny. I guess they were all so sure that Robbie and Gary would never make up and Take That would never be succesful again and here we are now, they all get along even though some have gone their seperate ways. I guess their manager was the real poison pitting these young impressionable minds against each other. I'm glad it backfired on him and that they're all doing much better without him now.
Great documentary, but there's one thing, that can't go out of my head: someone saying that Gary Barlow was boring!? At least, they thought he was boring? Really? By the way....what i hear about his career!? I think he's a real strong person! Sad to hear, that he didn't want to be "Gary Barlow" anymore, when he had a very difficult time. But when i look at him now....man....you did a really great job! A beautiful family, best friends who loves you, and a sublimely career! (Did i mention a great body to? Hihi) But seriously, i became very late, a Gary Barlow, and Take That fan! So i never saw you guys in real life! Really hoping that i see you, one day, in The Netherlands! Good luck, and a lot of love! xx
that woman said they don't have a good relationship or no each others children etc etc........yeah they did! they were all at gary's wedding party (except obviously robbie and nigel) and howard dj'd. only gary and howard had children at this stage and they were best mates. mark stayed in touch with everyone and even stayed at gary's house for like a week cus those 2 wrote one of marks albums together. they didn't live in each others pockets anymore. they weren't a band they had their own lives!
Most of the people speaking in this documentary are Nigel and Robbie centered. The truth about Take That actually is that they had the best singer/songwriter in the world that was Gary Barlow, the best dancers in the world that were Jason Orange and Howard Donald. Further, Mike Stevens was their musical director... The major things that go behind success are the creative aspects and not just the management and the fanciness that it builds.
OK, well it's true that Robbie it's more entertaining on tv...but not all of us girls like men like that. I would love to have a man by myside who loves his family like Gary. Also...I still love Gary's songs! I liked them both as solo artists!
take that for the record was a manipulated documentary .They handled a version for mark, howard, gary and jason and a different version for robbie williams make him look like the bad guy.
Nigel got the band together built the them up and they have him to thank for that so he was key to their success in some ways but he was also bullying and manipulative from what I can tell. They don't all hate him. Gary said some nice things about him in his book but I think they're better off without him now. And yeah the documentary does boost him too much. I think his company might have made it.
I think Robbie put's a front (and some front on) when he goes on stage or TV. I find him to be very charismatic. It's not the real Rob, I don't think. Like Rob but 10 times the personality. Showbiz is a place of ego's and showing off. That's all it is. If you stripped all that BS, he's just a vulnerable little boy inside. No older than the 16 year old that joined TT all those years ago. Obviously grown up, but in the shadow of all that. It's enough to fuck anyone's head up. All the best to you TT fans out there.
I personally think...that Gary Barlow was the brain and the music for take that and a product of it was Robbie Williams that...with a bit of luck (called guy chambers) became better.

Time proved this doc wrong.

Why do people think these guys should be best friends? They were jammed together by a third party, they were never really friends to begin with.

Great documentary. I say that because there are a few eyewitness accounts from people who don't appear to be bullshitting...
When was this made?
That woman doesn't know what she's saying. As if the members are still in touch with her.

Take That's return proved if there was any resentment it could be sorted - though I don't think there was any ill feeling!

i knew that was a load of shite. only howard and mark spoke the god damn truth
You forget there would be no thak that as we no without gary look at him now lush and loaded eat that rob. Love u gary xxx
OMG! is that Gary in 7:57!!
ebbandflow yes, sadly, that's Gary when he was dropped from the label and was made the universal laughing stock stage.

Robbie is much better singer than Gary
He's not. He's different.
