Oh dear not liking some of the comments here, improve is certainly not an exacting science. Love the rays of sunshine, cool block. Looking forward to your next video. Quilt on!
I like it! It absolutely goes with the sunshine theme, no matter which way you turn it. Also made me think of drawing that ray design and turn it into a paper pieced block. The result would be the same, just a different technique.
It looks cool but it doesn't look like any sort of 'sunshine'. To my eye it seems to be a bit of a 'mountain' or 'hill' in the middle. That's just a trick of perspective, I know. A whole quilt of that would be very neat looking - peaks and valleys.
For some reason looking at your block makes me feel dizzy. I think that is supposed to be good (when looking at some types of art). It does make me feel like I might fall. Great job!
Hmmm…if this quilt were just for you, and you were making all blocks in the same manner, then it’s very interesting and certainly “improv” - but if this block is part of a larger “sunshine quilt” made collectively by your quilt guild, then I don’t think this block works so well…

I think it looks great. Improv is all about personal interpretation.

I liked it before you switched it and I noticed that one blue piece is sewed on the wrong way - point out rather than in ?
