There is no way I would ever get back up if I laid down to do make an image. I proved that this spring. I sat down on the ground to hide behind a bush so some bufflehead ducks would come close enough to get a picture. It worked, I got the image, but I had to wait for a passerby in the park to help me to my feet. I was like a turtle on it's back. I had just turned 80 years old and my mind didn't realize I wasn't 30 anymore. :))
Recognize quality, and in this case the first few seconds..and decided to subscribe! It wasn't till after I commented that I looked at the gear: We share apparently the love for Olympus.
Just wonderful. Stunning birds, great light and your own skill all coming together to make fantastic images. I'm sorry this series is over. Really enjoyed it.
Cinco vídeos con una calidad indiscutible, me alegro que vuestra estancia en el Taray fuera del todo grata. Seguramente en un futuro volverá a visitarnos y a disfrutar de nuevo. Saludos.
Hi Mike enjoy your vlogs, thinking of getting om 1 what lens do. you use? I need to cover landscape and flora and fauna so 2 lenses. Currently Sony Rx10 but need more than 600mm when out birding in uk.
Great video Mike. The birds look so good at low level but I couldn`t last 2 hrs lying down. Maybe 30 mins and then my back and neck would be killing me.
I shoot most of the video with Panosonic cameras, now the GH6. Om-1 for stills mostly. When I do use the OM-1 it is 4k at 60fps, so as I can slow it down a little. I use H264 codec. Shutter speed priority at 125th. I still regard myself as a novice at video and do not understand much of it.
love your videos and this set , how easy would it be for a woman to do this.. ie ..you mention" bladder" are there toilets on the site ? do they cater for females .? thanks mike keep up the great vids
There are plenty of female photographers visiting sites like El Taray. Toilets at the main building where we gathered at the start of each session, but not in the hides. 3-4 hours would be a typical hide session.
Great video Mike! I would love to find a place here in the United States to do something like this. I do have several places to go for herons and waders but no permanent hides. I might have to buy myself a hide. Check out my channel if you would like to see the herons I have captured here in the United States.

I am getting there!
Thanks for sharing these videos of El Taray Mike, I’m going there myself in June, so it’s been good to see what’s coming my way.
Take swimming trunks for wearing under wetsuit in floating hide
What a wonderful series . Thank you Mike.!
Great series

Mike, you do a mighty job. Appreciated every time. It's a bastard of a thing, when all those young mans' hinges', start to get a bit rusty.....
Just beautiful--wish my back and joints would tolerate lying down on my stomach to photograph. There's nothing better than that low angle!

I'd love to visit this place. Excellent video.

I use the 150-400 99% of the time.

Fantastic images. I'd be interested to know how you set up the OM-1 for video.

@@MikeLaneFRPS thanks
Lovely images 👍🏻 are you missing the A1 yet or still happy with the om1?
The larger file size was useful with the A1 so I could shoot smaller im the frame, but I am enjoying the OM1.
@@MikeLaneFRPS Thanks 👍🏻
I have just got my OM-1 and was wondering what you use for photo editing.
For editing or culling of images I use Breezebrowser. For raw processing I use DxO Pureraw. I then use Photoshop for anything else.
Worth adding that the Lumix G9 has always had the pre-burst mode at 20 fps (SH1) and 60 fps 9SH2) modes.
Mike, you need a pee bottle when you’re going to be in a hide for a few hours. lol
