Love the nuances that you share. Specially talking about the nature of sound itself. My brother has a rave neo 1. I happened to open it and saw that the treble solution is the simplest one in the book by using a resistor before the connection to the tweeter, works like a rectifier blocking the low frequency signals from going ahead. Depending on the resistance value of resistor, as in higher the ohm value, higher the range of treble passes through it. The full range driver is actually the woofer. Theres no crossover.
wow well that explains the strange way it measures. i dont know about the neo 2, the woofer seems to have a gentle roll off from 400 hz and the tweeters a gentle roll off from 3khz but its not a crossover, its just a shallow slope down. hard to really know what it going on but a poor quality filter like a resistor would explain it i guess. so not one thing or the other 🤷♀️

Hope the Blast is still holding its throne for pound for pound world champ or has there been any potential contender?

@@Voidpkm neo 2 goes deeper, boom plus is upper bass heavy
Thx
If you can get the motion boom or the rave neo 2, for the same price, which just seems like you can, sounds like rave neo 2 is the better but eh?
just bigger and heavier, or two booms???
How does it compare to the motion boom & jbl extreme 3?
less deep bass heavy, more aggressive fast paced speaker
Good review Alan. I don't have any of the two speakers but going by just the sound comparison the NEO 1 sounds better to me than Neo 2. The adjectives you used to describe Neo 1 are exactly the kind of sound i like in a speaker...i will add a cleaner sound. With the Neo 2, i heard more upper bass, upper mids (in your face and a little jumbled) and despite having 2 twitters...i didn't hear the twitters unlike what i heard from the Neo 1 with just one twitter.
I will go for the Neo 1 just for the way it sounds. Maybe if i hear them both live i might think differently but doubt it.
They both offer vfm so you can't go wrong with either
can you pair this to the motion boom plus?
as far as i know yes with other partycast speakers
He does not miss!!! Great video as always Mr. Ross 🤪🤪🤪
Actually decent sounding speaker, but a little too edgy for me. I’m surprised they sent you this speaker though 😂😂😂
well you know the warfare that was unleashed to get that far 😁 luckily while being a small channel im actually big enough now to be annoying to theses companies when i want to be 🤣
@@alanrossreviews We’ve come a long way!!!
😜
Do you have a preference between the Rave Neo 2 vs the Onyx Studio 6?
Rave neo 2 if you want a lively upfront sound, studio 6 for a lovel warm deeo bass heavy sound.
@@alanrossreviews - what if it's for outside like patio or pool area use (not plugged in, likely more for ambient/background noise vs being super loud)? Would the worse battery life of the Studio 6 be an issue (likely would be getting two to pair up and would be 3-4 hours but potentially much longer)
Alan I've gone thru many speakers amd finally settled on just enjoying the hell outta my insmy m226 for smaller speakers ... does the blast sound better absolutely or boom plus yes bit for my uses and not worrying about my kids wrecking it the insmy is still my Lil hidden gem tale care alan and great job
Oh yeah the blast is different level, the motion boom plus is not one i particularly like
.
The insmy m226 is going for $27 right now on Amazon US. Despite not needing another bluetooth speaker I had to partake in this outrageously good deal. That is if it sounds as good as you say
@@waynedexter its decent for that money, that's not to say its a great speaker but certainly enjoyable. i didnt review it cause the price went up after i bought it but if they hold that price i think for a lot of people its one for the shortlist for sure.
@@alanrossreviewsfolks are comparing it the Motion+ but with a smidge more bass. Your thoughts?
@@waynedexter mark my words you're in for a treat
Love my rave neo 1
Its still nice for a warmer sound, the neo 2 is more upfront and aggressive
I'm looking for a bigger version of something like this. Is there anything out there you recommend?
@@dosstheboss100 stormbox blast and go play 3
@@alanrossreviews was meaning a lot bigger at least 10in speaker
can u share the custom eq for soundcore rave neo 1? I have no Idea how to have better eq on soundcore rave neo 1
It's called comb filtering..as you move around the horizontal axis you get peaks and nulls when the two tweeters go in and out of phase.
Hi David. any news on a minirig 4? 😁
comb filtering would be a specific type of phase shifting as in constructive and destructive interference i believe? but would not describe all the issues of having two drivers that close together? that was my understanding and why i didnt outright mention comb filtering. You are better placed than me to answer this question, thanks for the comment. 👍
Hi David, is minirig 4 even a thing?
@harisshaukat4780 we all want to know this answer 😜
good inform
Cheers 👍
Nice detailed review as always, good speaker for its intended purpose(party & outdoor listening mainly), i thought the little speakers at the top were tweeters, never knew they were full range drivers, i still prefer deeper bass & warm sounding speakers like the boom, what i want is a real boom upgrade with merciful weight😅, can't be hauling the blast around for now, Soundcore is always good with light weight speakers, with the type of competition out there, its only a matter of time....
Hope the Blast is still holding its throne for pound for pound world champ or has there been any potential contender?
im not sure if they are tweeters or full range drivers but they measure like full range and the rave neo had a full range top driver. for me the last is still pound for pound but you could make the arguement for a pair of booms.
@@alanrossreviews Oh, i see!
I don't know why sometimes youtube wouldn't give me notifications about some of your new contents, as Mifa Wildbox is a good alternative to the Boom, which speaker is a good alternative to the Blast?
maybe the encore but the battery is shite!

Now i know exactly where to look into
Thanks Alan!
Put it up against the "KING" W-King T9
trouble is my t9 is the original and i think there have been 3 revisions since so dont know how current ones sound.
@@alanrossreviews it would be extremely upsetting if they changed the near perfect tuning that the original had!!!
Hi Alan, I want to buy a speaker mostly for listening while driving (the speakers in my work car stopped working ... )
I'm not looking for volume and nasty, muffled bass, but clean bass, details, and a clear voice.
I was thinking about the Party 2 but I understand that there is no USB connection for charging so I could keep it plugged.
The other option is Neo 2.
My question is should I take it instead? And how much better is the party 2?
P.S I love your vibe, pleasure to watch your videos 👌👍
its more powerful, slightly less warm sounding
@alanrossreviews
Wow, thank you very much for your ultra-fast response.
I'll probably take the Neo 2.
Keep up the amazing work 👌👌👌
@alanrossreviews
Sorry, last thing.
Maybe I should go with the W king T9 instead?
many versions all sound different
