Great review - covers everything you need to know about the mk3 versus the mk4. I gave up the ‘high end hi-if’ because ‘audiophiles’ end up listening to the equipment and not the music. Alan reminds us that it’s not all about measured frequency response curves etc; it’s about your own personal response to the music you hear. Love it.
I bought into the Minirig world because of your videos. Been waiting to see what your thoughts on the 4 were. I bought it a couple of months ago and trying to like it. Love your videos! Minirig should be sending you speakers for review. I feel like you have sold a lot of speakers for them, I have 6 alone. Cheers!

I bought mine based on your reviews as well and startet a community trend with a friend. Now we have more than 20 Minirigs. Support has been amazing. They really stick to their repair mindset and they have been very kind. I can not complain about that. I am a lifetime fan now... their speakers in a 2.2 setup are astonishing. Still, there are really some steps back functionality wise with the 4s now. Let's hope their App will evolve and we get some features back. They definitely need a fitting sub now... different charging cables alone make me mad... Using USB-C now is the best change of all. Thanks Alan for staying true to yourself and towards us. I agree with you about the RUclips marketing platform part and sadly reviewers like you are getting less and less common. Thank you! 👍👍👍💪💪💪
Thank you for your detailed & determined efforts. It appears that the "4's" would benefit from the sub that the "3's' never needed. Maybe they need to offload some old subs lying around. Minirig owes you much gratitude. These are the best portable Audiophile speakers period. Sales are based on aficionados (like yourself) using & reviewing them in detail. You are much appreciated here, good sir! The "4's" sound clearer, but, the lack of low/high gain is unfortunate. Example: I use low gain for easy listening during dinner etc.. The "3's are plenty loud, plus, a 5-band EQ is a must. I have my EQ locked on "LOUD". Which, (to my ears) improves vocals. Spending more than $600 CAD + tax would only result in a pair of Totem bookshelf speakers, which are the equivalent in a mid-range attack that I adore. Cheers!

Took it personal I told them I won't be buying the 4 just to daisy-chain them to my 3s with 6 cables or whatever. Not worth it Appreciate your work!
Minirig haven't seemed to take my feedback well either. I complained that the volume keeps jumping to 75% out of nowhere, which has given me several heart-testing jump scares in the 2 weeks since it finally arrived. "We can confirm that there is nothing wrong with the speaker" was the first line of their response to my support request. They go on to admit that there is a software bug and they hope the developer will fix it in the next release, so I'm hoping they'll extend my returns period until that's fixed, let's see if they agree to that. The device also stays connected to my phone even after I disconnect: despite the phone showing "not connected", the Minirig still plays my dialtone when the phone rings, and the only way to get it to play music again after that was to reset the speaker. Expected more from £150. The sound is nice though. Maybe the volume bug is connected to the Minirig getting confused between inputs, not disconnecting properly. If only there was a way to switch between phono and bluetooth inputs. Like... you know... an actual physical switch.

I always want to try this little speaker, but I always wonder 150 british pound for each,? 299 CAD? how much if you purchase pair with sub? 1k? SO , TELL ME , what else can we get with that much money?😅
yeah the value goes down each year there is no significant change in sound quality. i cant really say its a great buy any more for most people.
Ive been waiting for months for you to do this at last.. the Rollout was terrible the worst.. god knows what there thinking.. not even a mk4 sub.. terrible how they go about putting out stuff..
even their attitude with me stinks!
@@alanrossreviews That's Terrible.. that company definitely has issues
That Minirig platform looks like it was designed by separate committees. Why is the subwoofer's diameter different to the main speakers? Why do they have to be wired together, rather than use pairing? Why isn't the subwoofer provided with attachments that could be used to physically connect the subwoofer and two satellites together so they can be carried as one unit?
😝 i dunno! the subwoofer is ported of course so needs some volume. as for attachments, cradles and feet etc Minirig have missed a trick here as there is already a third party market selling stuff for this. honestly after 5 years im not sure why we got this mk4 like this.
Two mini rigs or two Bose flex?
well the flex can go places the minrigs cant go. for sound the minirigs for practicality the flex.

Я пришел сказать по-русски: Спасибо!
Come on dude. I know the have the Brane X so do a comparison between the Minirig and the Brane X and stop all these guys saying that the Minirig is the best. Not even close to the Brane X
you think im made of money? none of these companies will send me speakers any more because i tell it like it is. i asked brane x three times and they don't want to send. im not spending my money any more just to please some hardcore moaners. speaker reviews is the most thankless job, IFFF you are honest, unlike jays fake ayagi. im glad ive stopped now and no longer listen to the cry babies.
@ I have the Brane X so how would I get the Minirig to send me their unit for review?
@@LarryRichelli that sounds like a you problem. I dont have the brane x and can't get them to send one to me.
I could never be a fan of this serie somehow...
it does come alive as a modular system but you pay a premium for it, one on its own though a bit nah!
"normalsied"? :-) (@16:51)
yes its like normalising but not quite as normal 🤣
