When you mentioned Kohl de Bahrain, I felt so happy that there is a perfume carrying my country's name...to answer as what the powder note has to do with Bahrain, I feel that the creator of this fragrance knew a lot about our cultural history ...our grandmothers loved this fragrance "reve d'or" it was a must have in each and every house, Reve D'or fragrance features well-blended accords of woods, powdery notes, floral and aromatic essences. because we have extremely hot summers Bahrainis gravitate towards powdery cooling fragrances. To mention just very few of our all time faves: Estee by Estee Lauder, Chanel No. 19, Reve Gausche by YSL, Magic by Guerlain...
Hey! Here I am again commenting on an old video but I liked your channel so much that went back and found a lot worth watching :) I realized that I had a friend send me some Piguets because I was interrested a year ago, but didn‘t try any… Now that I watched this, I went back and smelled Visa. And wow, yeah, I really really like it. I also like the Diptyque Volutes and couldn‘t agree more to what you say about Le Bain. Le Bain is just stunning, unique, still modern in todays standards. The unique thing about Le Bain is that, being an oriental warm fragrance, it has aldehydes at the top which last well into the heart. That is giving some kind of clean, cool soapy contrast to the otherwise balmy, warm fragrance. It‘s not literally soap soapy though, just enough to add an edge and yes, the feeling of using a luxurious spa bath product, hence the name. The body lotion is stunning, too, you might like to try it. Such a gem of perfume history and I hope it will be never discontinued.
So refreshing to watch someone with actual taste! 😍😍😍 so nice to see real fragrances mentioned rather than the liquid candy in a bottle perfumes everyone and their mother talks about on RUclips
I wear un sur la nil in the summer in Texas. It reminds me of eating green mangoes in the Caribbean. We also pickle green mangoes in vinegar and hot peppers. Takes me back to my childhood. My favorite summer scent
I have a compulsion to stand up and clap because of these picks , it's so refreshing unique choices. Recently wore rouge smoking by bdk and it's so good in the cold air. That smokey cherry 👌 Love kills by masque milano is also worth trying , it smells like the life and death of a rose. From first blossoming to decaying. Fantastic as always 🙏
Oh wow, thank you! Mmm, yes, Rouge Smoking is great. I am revisiting Love Kills soon and will see if she sticks with me. Thanks so much for watching and for your continuous support! 🌹Xo Sam
I love your collection!! Very eclectic yet consistent like mine! I love that you also have fragrances from the 80s rather than following the crowd. Really makes a statement on your individuality and taste. 🤎
Greetings from South Texas. Sam, this list was soooo captivating. I wanted to write down some of these fragrances, grabbed a small piece of paper near my desk, had to grab another piece. I am intrigued each time you mention your travels, places lived, and such. Love how you roll those "R"s in Montecristo. I own Fille en Aiguilles (Christmas in a bottle!). I also have "Wazamba" by Parfum D'Empire, I find their dry down to be similar but very different in price. And, oh my my, I was in the blossom of my 30s when I discovered "Knowing". Would absolutely love to see a video of your entire collection, break it up in parts if you have to. And, have one of those chat videos, I have a shit-ton of questions to ask you. Great video, Sam.
Hi Rebecca, oh thank you so much! Mmm yes, she is just captivating - I need to try that Wazamba and compare! I will do a collection video once I've downsized and organized. Thank you once again, and I will try to do a Q&A soon to share more info. Hope you're having a wonderful day. 🌹Xo Sam
Hi, I’m a new subscriber from Switzerland. Just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate your channel. You are very knowledgeable about fragrance and have an amazing nose and taste. I’m so grateful I found your channel. Thank you ! Emilie
I also own MonteCristo and LOVE it, easily one of my essential favorites. For me, I think it's the styrax resin along with the rum and benzoin that gives it that unique aroma that draws me to it over and over again. The downfall is the price point per ml that may drive customers away. By the way, I really enjoy your videos...you bring new fragrances to viewers like myself and it's very much appreciated. Your content is outstanding!
Mmm absolutely! That aroma is to die for. I thought I was going to pass out when they told me the price, but, alas, I had to have her! Thank you so much for your wonderful words. 🌹Xo Sam
I stumbled upon this video of yours today, and when you mentioned Chanel number 22 I just had to comment. I have been wearing Chanel number 22 since 1984, when I was 16. It was in a gift said that my first boyfriend gave me as a Christmas gift. I had a choice of selecting the number 19, the number five gift set, call or the number 22 gift set. I have never look back and I’ve never owned those other two fragrances by Chanel even though I have worn and do currently still on the number 22 as well as several other Chanel fragrances. It’s always spoken to me. It is Chanel number 22 is one of the few Tuberrose fragrances that I love. My lifetime favorite
Bought safanad finally! Was considering a designer dupe but was not convinced. So many other folks say that it doesn’t last though. Only your comments have noted it’s long lasting! I’m hoping it lasts on me too. I love it regardless though! Btw you are so beautiful 🤩
Aw thank you for sharing! What a lovely comment. I hope it does last on you - I have no problems, especially on clothing, it's there for days. If you like it, then try out V by Robert Piguet sometime or Calypso. They're different scents, but down a similar path. Congrats on your new amazing scent!🌹Xo Sam
This list is VERY refreshing. I can’t believe you chose No 22, Fille en Aiguilles, Volutes, Sur Le Nil and KNOWING?!!?? Wow. They’re perfect for the season and some that I wear often in the winter (although I don’t really use “Le Nil” much but instead wear Un Jardin Apres la Mousson). Your descriptions are well thought out and not like the rest of these RUclipsrs who just list the notes and talk about compliments. Sorry, I don’t mean to compare you to the others. I’m going to dig into your channel to see what other greats and other things I’m not so familiar with. Great video.
Your best vid to date Sam! Love it and you’ve given me some great fragrances to try!! ❤️❤️ ps I love Oud Abramad! It’s on my list it’s a great Oud! It’s certainly a heavy hitter!!
I love this unique selection of fragrances and how you talk about so many different brands and make me want to explore more of the world of niche perfumes. I also own Un Jardin sur le Nil! This winter I'm wearing Nero Oudh by Tiziana Terenzi (wish I believe "flying torso" would like 😄), MFK Oud Silk Mood, the regular one and my favorite duo to layer: Cardinal by James Heeley with MFK Gentle Fluidity Gold, beautiful Myrrh with Vanilla blend
Great picks. Just came across your channel and I have a lot of the same fragrances so must have similar tastes - the fragrances I haven’t got I’m going to sample now :) Great content - thanks for the videos and reviews
I have a feeling we would get along JUST fine Sam. Woody-spicy / orientals have always been my favourite too. Although Fille en aiguilles may have the opposite effect on me. Instead of 'back off', I'm about ready to jump on. 🤣 The smell of bonfire? GETTING it on. 😔 Your clothes. Dolcelisir 👍👍👍 ❤️❤️❤️

Yes I grew up in Africa an we would put salt on a green Mango lol it is soooooo tasty. I told a friend and they were like no way lol. Glad to find someone else who loves that combination. My collection is mainly for hot weather so I have versatile scents. My only winter perfume is YSL Opium Pour Homme. I wanna get Remember Me by Jovoy would you say a man can pull that off Sam?
Mmmmmm you need to stop talking about it, there is no green mango here! 😆 Opium is great. Of course you can wear Remember Me - as long as the fragrance works with your skin and not against it. 🌹Xo Sam
@@aikjones1 unfortunately they sent a different sample. I was sent La Colle Noire instead of the one that I chose. And when I went back to the site they’d already rotated the selection.🤬
I’ve met a Master Distiller of a very huge spirits/whiskey company.. when he introduced himself, I got walfs of charred, sweet, woodiness.. I told dude that if he could bottle that smell up, he’d sell more fragrances than bottles of whiskey.
Speaking of Teint De Neige i've recently got myself a sample of that, as a "purchase gift" from the store. And as a Man i love it, but yet to find a way how/where could i wear it. Great video btw.
Neroli Blanc by Au Pays de La Fleur D'Oranger is a much more realistic orange blossom, another candied option is Guimauve de Noël by Parle Moi de Parfum. Mon Parfum Cristal by Micallef isn't orange blossom, but gives a similar sweet effect to Safanad. Happy sampling! 🌹Xo Sam

I share some favourites with you most notably Filles en Aguille. I would love to explore Anick Goutal but their stuff is hard to find in store where I live.
@@MyWorldofFragrance She passed away years ago, (1999) and now her daughter is making perfumes under the Goutal label. She had a very short career and passed at the age of 53, but I remember when her perfumes first went on sale when I was a kid. Some gorgeous scents.
My step dad is Danish and loves his licorice and other sweets!! I feel the same about vanilla. Feels scratchy in the back of the throat sometimes. I do like: Diptyque Eau Duelle edt (but a bit scratchy) Guerlain Spiriteuse Double Vanille Guerlain Angelique Noire (smells like Eau Duelle) Annick Goutal Confidences et Nuit Nishane Ani - my favorite. I wish the opening notes stuck around though.
Haha, that's so fun to hear! Mmm yes, those are great vanillas, although I haven't gotten a hold of Nishane yet - they're simply not available in the UK 😭🌹Xo Sam

@@MyWorldofFragrance She passed away years ago, (1999) and now her daughter is making perfumes under the Goutal label. She had a very short career and passed at the age of 53, but I remember when her perfumes first went on sale when I was a kid. Some gorgeous scents.
@@nancysiciliana3387 Oh thank you for sharing! 🌹Xo Sam
My step dad is Danish and loves his licorice and other sweets!!
I feel the same about vanilla. Feels scratchy in the back of the throat sometimes.
I do like:
Diptyque Eau Duelle edt (but a bit scratchy)
Guerlain Spiriteuse Double Vanille
Guerlain Angelique Noire (smells like Eau Duelle)
Annick Goutal Confidences et Nuit
Nishane Ani - my favorite. I wish the opening notes stuck around though.
Haha, that's so fun to hear! Mmm yes, those are great vanillas, although I haven't gotten a hold of Nishane yet - they're simply not available in the UK 😭🌹Xo Sam
