Just seen them for the first time in Omaha last weekend - fantastic show and fireworks! Awesome! I'm 60, went with my sons - 27 & 29 - all three of us loved it!
have you ever gone to watch a concert of TSO? because if you have not, you don't know what you are missing. The way the lights show in the video is completely different in live performance. It is awesome! I heard about the kind of shows that these people give and to be honest, when I went, It was beyond my expectations.
If the Trans-Siberian Orchestra ever come to Australia, I want to go see their show. I love how they can combine modern music with older stuff and come up with something completely new that rocks even more than the original pieces. 5/5
@tyrantduck Actually the song is "Christmas Eve Sarajevo" off their first album Christmas eve and other stories. This song originated on the Savatage album " Dead winter dead" before it was played by TSO. Which is the creation of Savatage founder Jon Olivia and others.
DeathScouter, the lighting designer is Bryan Hartley. He has designed for Kiss, Anthrax, Ozzy, Lenny, Motley Crue, Slayer, NiN, Alicia Keys, plus many more. One of the best in the business, I should know, I do the same thing on the same scale. This is the production the band wants. You design a lighting production to match the show that is being produced. You are right, sometimes less is more. In this situation, that isn't the case. Yes, the Syncrolites were made to look like bells.
I so want to see them next week when they're here in concert but sadly I can't due to recovering from total knee replacement surgery and I really hoping that I can go next year.
Does anyone know a cd or studio version of this?I remember there was a music video for Carol of the Bells by tso but I cant find it.I want a recorded clear one.
I saw them live once around this time, but I don't remember such a crazy light show. This is like listening to great music while a cop is shining a light in your face,---I imagine. :) Too distracting to enjoy some great music IMO. This version is light crazy enough. I wanted to take my Mother to see this show, but not now. The 2018 version is way to "Rock" for her. Too bad she did not see the show I did. It was a very "mixed" audience in terms of age.

i love TSO! but everytime i go to watch them and they perform this song they show a bunch of random pictures in the background and not so many lights...i like this one better :)
@tokyomewmewroxable orchestras are not simply for calm music. Bach was a ROCK GOD he just didn't have electric guitars. if you are calling some of Bach and Beethoven's music calming you obviously aren't listening too it right.
@tokyomewmewroxable well you seem to be slightly uneducated. having played in many orchestras i guarantee you this is an orchestra, just because they play more modern rock style doesn't mean they aren't an orchestra, orchestra is not defined to a certain style, other then it is a string composition with classic string instruments. just because they have guitars thrown on top of it doesn't make them any less of an orchestra. i suggest watching more of TSO and the many other orchestras out there

I agree with Jen lots of my friends have gone to see them and all of of them loved the show .If they would come to my city I would go.
