I show in this video one way to approach a plain design cover for a motorcycle seat in the case of not having a sewing machine.
To get a 'non-sewing cover' I have taken advantage of stretchy side of vinyl material. The most difficult part is on front part of the cover because of its 'rounded convex shape'. I would have rather did a 'sewn insert' on this front portion as it comes in the original design. But, for purpose of the video I overlooked this option.
To get this difficult contour it was necessary stretch the vinyl from 6 to 8 cm on this side and the same on left end.
The first important key is stretch the material lengthwise and attach with glue both centers front and rear end. Afterwards, it would be easier to trim, paste glue and handle the sides in order to get the desired shape.
Before this process it would be advisable to put the seat under the sunrays for a while. The material turns to be more pliable. On the contrary the use of a 'hair dryer' is also useful. Nevertheless, it was not necessary because it was stretched just enough to give the shape. I 'used' the 'hair dryer' just to consider the option.
The yellow glue adheres very strong, and it is not necessary the use of staples.
Just, use staples and no glue at all in case of having a 'pneumatic stapler'.
I hope you find this information useful!

How many times people asks the same question about the glue..., you are a very very patient person. Thanks a lot
What a glue is used there?

This was a great help in my reupholstery process and it was the only video that is for a 1 piece non sewing and the only one that didnt get on my nerves with all the needless jabber. Thank you and i did subscribe.

Phenomenal! You are so talented Cechaflo.
Better than new in my opinion. I like the smooth look.
Thanks for the vid. Besides being instructive, I don't know why but it was very emotionally cathartic.
This man is truly. Thank you for the lesson
Another thing I found useful was marking which was the front of the seat, on the material, and which was the back
Outstanding video. Outstanding for those of us visual learners. Sometimes too much talk gets in the way.

I have a 70s CT90 seat I need to recover. Much shorter front to back than this. I hope I can achieve a good level of recover. Thanks for video!!
I just done exactly what you explained / demonstrated in video, seat looks awesome!!! But I've got heaps of arrows on seat skin I can't wipe clean ...I used a Sharpie marker coz had no chalk
Excellent workmanship, excellent teaching, thank you ❤
That’s really nice, can’t wait to put it to the test
muy bueno, sin costura. todo un veterano nos enseña su técnica en tapicería

You are a great upholsterer. Thanks for sharing.
This looks so easy to do its like covering a chair
This is great thank you. I intend on getting my seat upholstered. But this could serve as a temporary make do solution, and can stay on as a waterproofing layer after, to be upholstered over.
Yes, it is a good solution if you live in a place where it rains too much. Do not forget to cover the foam base with a thin plastic.

Very helpful video and nice ASMR as bonus 😁
Great video....So there is no contact cement between the cushion and fabric on the top side of the seat at all..???? What keeps it down to the padding..???
It is not necessary to cover/spread with glue the top side of the seat. Usullay, that is how the covers come from factory.
What is important is the fastening of vinyl edges all around to the frame edge. It could be by using 'yellow glue' or directly staples. Both ways work out. I have shown both options.
thx this really helped me making a new cover on my seat
I am glad the video is useful!

Wow! What a craftsman. No words and yet you knew everything by his arrow directions! I DO want that glue though. Amazing it held the opposite ends through the whole process. Anyone know the brand???
I have used a brushable glue I bought from a local supplier. Different trademarks here in Mexico. ruclips.net/video/o2xeezdF8Ss/видео.html

¡Muchas gracias por apreciar este trabajo!
It makes more sense to take the original seats design and transfer it to the new material if you have enough of it to do that.
What you say is right. But I have to do it this way from scratch and at a slow pace because most of my videos are educational and are aimed at beginners in this artcraft.
What is the glue you used? Really enjoyed watching. I just made a new seat for my ebike and got frustrated with the vynal folds. Its a bit of a thick seat but I'm encouraged watching your tutorial to have anothe r go. And while I'm asking.... wghat you use to sand or shape foam? Thanks David.
I used a regular, brushable upholstery yellow glue.

Very good! Thinking of doing this...need a new seat cover.
I am glad the video is useful!
Good work ❤
WOW… A video without BS or music. How refreshing…I don’t know what country this video was made in, but that adhesive is not available here in the United States. It is not barge glue, or 3M, or DAP weldwood ..I’ve never seen Adhesive act like that .. it grips, it seems to be dry, and there is no mess that gets dragged onto the outside surface of the cover as his hands work with both sides of the cover touching the glue then touching the surface that will show, and no mess, no glue transfer…Does anybody know the brand name of that adhesive? Not a guess, the actual name?
I bought this glue from a local supplier here in Mexico where I am located. In the USA you could find similar products, such as: Petronio's contact cement (brushable), Dap Weldwood, Landau top&trim adhesive (sprayable and brushable)

At MotorcycleUpholstery dot com. we either replace the foam or shave the seat foam to the accommodate the height of the person, then add Luimoto gold gel, then add a Luimoto seat cover then ship the seat back to the customer.
Hi Sir, great video.
You used 2 way stretch vinyl rather than 4 way like I've seen on other videos. Could I ask why please?
Many thanks
Devid
I have always used one way stretch automotive vinyl. That is what I have at hand overhere in Mexico. If you have the chance to get 4 way stretch vinyl it could be much better to shape irregular pieces.

Sometimes videos without talking are so much more informative, then listening to the nonsense of a bunch of useless chatter, although some people may not know what tools are involved, I might suggest a simple before list, then go about your task, I do custom work as well, and I love the pink clothes pin.
Awesome video! What glue are you using?
ruclips.net/video/o2xeezdF8Ss/видео.html
Brilliant...can you tell me thr name of the material used please..and maybe where to get it..?
I used black automotive vinyl for the cover. To even the surface I put over a layer of headliner material (1/4" of an inch foam)

Aloha. What is the glue used? Thanks for any feedback. Have a blessed one.
I am located in Mexico and trademarks are different in each country. But, most of these solvent based yellow glues are similar everywhere. This glue is the same used to stick formica as shown in the video about Upholstery Glues:

Where do you find stretchy vynal I refelted my pool table but that was very workable not like the crap I got Walmart I'd have to sew a seam but after seeing it I want something different didn't look right I considered cutting a pair of carhartt duck brown but not sure on that lol
