Thank you so much. This was an excellent video. I have been keeping planted aquariums for decades, but there is always something new to learn. My favorite aquarium plant?? I'm not sure it is possible for me to choose. The moment I pick a favorite, I am reminded about a dozen other species that I love.
Would like a video that details how you guys choose plants based on a scape. Sometimes I get hung up on smaller areas that need height and such plant combos and such. Would love your thoughts!
Thank you. I like all the plants. But Rotalas are particularly beautifull: texture, colorfull, very easy to grow. Blyxa aubertii, rose, purple, very special. The familly of Echinodorus is also stunning in his numerous varieties of colour. I also like very much the Alternantheras, the Ludwigias and the Bucephalandras for their deep red colors. Anubias, Microsorums, Bolbitis, Hygrophila pinnatifida are amazing to colonize stones and pieces of wood. Of course, we can't forget the Cryptocorines for their resistance and there color as they're well established. We are so lucky to have all that beauty holding us to enjoy aquascapers!
Great video. 👍 Personal experience with Pogestomon deccanensis: slow growth, but definately needs CO2 to do so. The moment I removed the CO2 from that tank, the plant disappeared completely.
Thanks Tommy for yet another colourful, pleasant and informative video. I always used to wonder, what makes a 'Planted Aquarium' more fascinating than a garden! Of course, there are breathtaking gardens in Europe, Japan and miracle garden of Dubai. Even so, when we spot a small glass cube (nanoscape) in any place, most people become curious and perhaps look twice at it😊. So, I guess there is some unknown affinity what makes people get more attracted towards an aqua-scape rather than a landscape. Today, you have helped aquarists to understand more about the plant behaviours in various conditions. I studied over 140+ plant species but at times it become very confusing to identify the right species as it appears totally different in various conditions. You explained it very well here. Thank again
Only channel to follow for planted aquariums ❤ BTW Tommy sir In Jan I planted hygrophila pinnatifida under low light its was green. Last month when i upgraded lighting then now it is kind of brownish red on upper side and bottom side of the leaf is red Need to upgrade lighting even more to turn red 😂 BTW learning so much from guys ❤ ❤from india 🇮🇳 Yesterday got some microsorum narrow leaf any tips for this fern ?
Hello and thank you very much. I just set up my first aquascape, co2 injected and heavily planted tank for CARIDINA CRYTAL RED SHRIMPS. Can you give me a piece of advice of Which fertilizer should I use taking those shrimps in consideration please? Thannk you very much.
For the favorite plant I have to go with Anubias. Any kind, really but if I have to choose one it'd be Anubias Nana. It accompanied me in all the years of having aquariums. I always had Anubias. For me, they're the easiest and most good looking of them all.
Keeping plants this way is soooo expensive and so much work. After 25years I switched to creating ecosystem. With just sand and brown dried local leaves. No more waterchanges anymore.
@@GreenAquaShop For me it depends on the speed at which the substitutions occur. but in aquariums with aroids I either practically do not change the water for years (one aquarium lived like this for 12 years), or the water is running

Thank you Tommy, you are by far the best narrator on Green Aqua.
I've always loved anubias, since I saw them in a book by Charles Manson (not the killer)... such a beautiful plant. Ferns also are amazing! :)
Great video. 👍

The dramatic zoom ins 😂 lovely video

Its unfamiliar. Everyone sees gardens all the time. They see an aquarium with plants and fish they've never seen so they are naturally curious

Regarding Placement, floating plants were missing!

Great information. Thank you! At the moment, my favorite plants are swords, but by tomorrow, it might be something else.
Great! ❤
What fish is at 12:55 ?
early but ive never seen your vids :( cool vidsssssss
I will not make my plants suffer so i apply co2 injection from very beginning. I think my fovourite plants would be Anubias Coffeefolia
gracias por el recordatorio
eleocharis parvula mini se asemeja al pasajismo real
What’s the fish name ? 13:38
my favorite plants are Cryptocoryne, all types. No co2, no fertilizer, no powerful light, no water changes, no haircuts. No algae!))
My time is free.
They are great ones but still sensitive species. It tends to melt if the water condition changes
@@GreenAquaShop If the water is harder, they are not sensitive to change. This is just my experience, not dogma
Well, water hardness is only one factor. Temp fluctuations and sudden pH changes can trigger this very often.
@@GreenAquaShop For me it depends on the speed at which the substitutions occur. but in aquariums with aroids I either practically do not change the water for years (one aquarium lived like this for 12 years), or the water is running
