Bittersteel i got a reply to my comment from "official bittersteel" saying that i won something. Is it true?
@@Peter33033 of course not lol, that's a scam that's been going around for ages now on just about every RUclips channel. RUclips and Telegram need to team up to stop it from happening

33:15 I've never heard Bitter this emotional before.
"Mein Bitter, the allies had controlled the Balkans again"
Reminds me of my first usa game.
Early invasion of Japan followed by eisenhower leading a whole army group through siberia to reinforce the soviet front.
DDay got bogged down at the rhine so eisenhower pushed from the east and took Berlin after like 4 years of constant fighting through the soviet union.
I seriously wonder what the allied forces thought when eisenhower reappeared over the horizon from the east
Allies: finally USA support! WHERE WHERE YOU FOR THE PAST 10 YEARS?!
Eisenhower: marking our way throughout Siberia to help the soviets?
Allies: WHY DIDN’T YOU GO THOUGH THE ATLANTIC TO HELP LIBERATE FRANCE? AND ALSO YOUR ON OUR TEAM NOT THE SOVIETS!
Eisenhower: idk
The concept of a large American force fighting WW2 in the eastern front is incredibly interesting, if historically implausible.
Imagine how difficult would it be to justify the cold war if millions of soviets and Americans fought side-by-side, on the same front?
Of course, the USSR would likely never allow that to happen, given the "ideological contamination" that would entail, but it's fun to imagine.
that's some hannibal barca tier bullshit
@@joelfilho2625 if it was seriously proposed in like 1941 1942 I don't think the USSR would refuse
@@hjuy4049 I believe they would refuse. They would probably ask for the equipment used in the expeditionary force to be delivered, rather than the men, likely justifying that the USSR has plenty of men, but not proper weapons (true enough). The internal state of the USSR was still too affected by political upheaval and the ideological "purification" of Stalin's purges to accept the contamination of the Soviet soldiers with foreign ideals brought in by Brits, Commonwealth men and more importantly Americans.
"NOOOOOO, Don't look at it!"
That series of navel invasions had me laughing hard.
The Desperate defense side of the mobile warfare doctrine is pretty representing of Germany at that time
its almost like the doctrines were molded of what countries used at the time or might've used if the war developed differently
but it wasn't a doctrine just desesperate measures like the soviet "human waves" during the first months of operation barbarossa it wasn't a doctrine just incompetence
@@hansmohammed5486 I think actual doctorine is either a myth or a mistake. In a real war you take the measures you need to take. Doctorine to me sounds like something for wargames.
it would be cool if they did that with equipment too. give me 2 paths for guns: one that makes them more expensive and better and one that makes them cheaper, like last ditch weapons
@@hansmohammed5486 there were no human waves in soviet doctrine irl, stop learning history via hoi4

33:12 the sheer emotion from this man is felt through the digital space to the physical one
The duality of man:
>I hate this video game. I'm not having fun anymore
>Let's fucking go! My armor can crush anything in my path
I feel like you forgot the naval bombers...
Naval bombers? They were not Germanys strong suit. If this game is realistic, you should probably purchase some good naval bomber licenses from the japz. With Germany, you can do quite well if you build fourth level submarines with all the most advanced tech installed in them....at least if I remember correct from an earlier game.
I’m pretty sure you can only use them if you have aircraft carriers
I'm imagining Bitt3rSteel as a new military advisor hired by Germany to save the war.
That's literally the start of the red alert 3 soviet campaign
@@debilman9065 Isn’t RA3 the game with lightsaber wielding mechas and the Premier retreating to “SPACE!”? Who are you talking about, the player character?
I actually feel like disaster save videos are the best learning tool for new players. A lot of my skills in this game were learned from these videos because as a bad player, my losing games often looked like these games so you can see what you had done wrong thanks to bittersteels explaining. Keep up the great work bitterchad!
Steiners "counter-attack" be like
This is where is the fun begins
I still can't believe Bitter said he died 15 times in the six months. Truly a disaster save.
I know that his next video is probably going to be the czechoslovakia 1963 save. Godd luck Bitterchad
me too
I think if I was trying to save that one I would just wait 2 years for research and then make modern spg’s or somn. No point in Trying to push out before that point
He had no resources but steel and 9 factories you physically couldn’t do anything
Honestly I don’t think so. That save is pure cancer
Up
Also the reason people take the Desperate Defense portion of that doctrine tree isn't because they're running out of manpower, but because it allows you to not use anything beyond Extensive Conscription, meaning you have no issues with production and construction. It just makes you more efficient. Against the AI the army bonuses are completely unneeded.
Scrolled all the way to find this, I thought I was missing something when he said it sucked. I was like wait, but then you don’t have the huge downsides of the higher mobilization laws. I’ve only played against AI but yeah I was doing really well but running low on manpower constantly (had too many armies lol), those doctrines were absolute lifesavers
@@JDothan Of course, a well played German wouldn't need those doctrines in the first place. Hoi4 really is about blocking the enemy with infantry stacks and then micro-managing your armour (with most of your planes autosupporting them) to push the enemy back.
why is this so gosh darn enjoyable to watch
The best comeback, rage, and patient i have seen in HOI4
I did it too. On my 9th attempt. But I take my hat off for Bitt3er, he played on speed 3-4, I did on x1, lots of micro. It was very frustrating at first, thinking you had it all under control then everything crumbles so fast. The setup wasn't as bad as it would appear. In fact having 5k naval bombers allowed me to spam thousands of planes on my coasts, which made the AI not deploy too many ships there. I also had my navy full of capital ships on "Naval Invasion Support", which grants naval superiority but keeps them out of engagements, so with that I didn't have to worry about guarding my ports at the start. I instantly reorganized everything, put 20 mils on Anti-Air, balanced stuff out, and went for the micro.
In my successful run you must delay the fall of your Balkan allies, the longer the live, the longer are the frontlines so the enemy is more spreadout. I retreated from Italy, including their troops, since they became my puppet I took hold of their 51 divisions, pulled them out from Genoa and sent them to hold the lines with the Soviets and Turks. I managed to encircle a nice chunk of the Allies near Turkey, but I couldn't breach into Istanbul, Allied air superiority stopped me everytime. Then Yuguslav fell despite my efforts to hold Belgrade. I decided to abandon Bulgaria and Romania for the time being, pulled all troops out of the countries, brought them to defend Hungary, which cannot fall, if it falls you lose. On the west I initially pushed down towards Switzerland, then had that river up to the Dutch as my defensive line. I also retreated from the Alpes, hiding behind another river. I built forts behind the rivers, they gotta be at least level 2, level 3 is okay, level 4 or more is optimal. Lots of microing with tanks and cheesing last stands to hold the allies. Meanwhile in the east I moved up a bit and did initial encirclements, as things grew stable after I abandoned Romania I could commit my panzer divisions to start butchering the Russians while my airforce was dominant towards their side. Don't try fighting the Allies' planes, its suicide. Anyway, kept pushing Russia while the Allies kept attacking on the west non-stop, this lasted for a full year, then they gave up because I had managed to field more troops to those lines, arranged the forts and they had burned their equipment. With the huge surplus of Support Equipment I was able to give everyone Maintenance Companies, so I stole a lot of enemy gear. Built a level 6 radar on Denmark so I could easily spot planes and ships in the whole of Germany and the coasts, with so many Static Anti-Air already built by the save owner I have decimated the Allies' bombers, all that remains are a huge fleet of fighters. I downed Russia mid 1945, took everything up the Urals, then made them a puppet from there eastward. Once the Russians are dead you are free to roam down on the Allies with renewed stocks, troops and factories, because the guy did a 100% collab in Russia, excellent. It almost feels like a made up save, because everything that was wrong in the end worked just perfectly. Now I am mopping the allies in the Balkans, and Middle-East, entering India through my puppet Iran, soon enough I'll be in the Suez, the allies gone from the Balkans. Then I'll probably strike Sweden and liberate Norway. From there I'll launch Sea Lion and kill England before I even step into France. Then yeah, France, Spain, Italy, North Africa, lastly the bane of all, the boring invasion of the USA.
The Italy dlc somehow made Italy even more stupid idk that was even possible
Italy either loses against ethopia or wins in like 1938 lmao
you should try the 1960 chezchoovakia save
If you’re this frustrated, I could only imagine the frustration of Field Marshals, Generals and Strategic Planners and Military Strategists in real life, the amount of pressure they must’ve been under in WWII when their armies couldn’t execute
All the ideologies aside, let’s imagine allies and axis were just two sides of a war over, for example, chocolate.
Now imagine Hitler screaming at field Marshals for failing the execution of crucial plans to save a disaster like this.
Huh 🤔 sounds familiar
I can just imagine German High Command as this guy walks in, tells them everything they did wrong then proceeds to win the war
You don't need to always use 40/42 width tanks, especially in a critical situation when you might need more than a few hard-hitting 42w's. I found that 32w is a perfectly viable and cheaper alternative, being able to field over 25 of them and even use some to only counter naval invasions in France and Italy. And the stats decrease is tolerable, with breakthrough going from around 1200-1300 with 42w to a bit above 1000 for 32w. Anything over 1000 is good enough for large offensives.
Hey bittersteel, have you ever fried out heavy fighters with heavy mgs? They completely wreck anything the AI can throw at them, despite the high production cost.
Thank you for putting your sanity at stake for your viewers, truly a noble service
Chopin plays hoi4?? when is ballade 5 dropping?
19:25 that camel unit got me laughing for some reason 😂
33:15 ive never heard bitter sound so damn bitter

11:35 i loved how he changed voice when he said istanbul
Man, this one really has it all. The highs, the lows, the utter despair, the all-crushing comeback.
"If the tanks succeed, then victory follows"
normally i always skip the ads, but because i like your videos so much, i let it run, because you deserve it
I appreciate that
I skipped, but i don't know you yet
For what it's worth, usually if I'm building medium tank divisions I'll research moderns as soon as I feasibly can and start producing those, then convert some of my higher xp medium divisions to moderns and use the remaining medium tanks to respond to naval invasions. Invasions are still annoying but it means I don't have to stop pushing to clean them up, and moderns tend to take fewer losses to lategame infantry.
I've had the expeditionary button not work before, and I found it sometimes works if you create an army with 1 division in and set them a big frontline, then request through the diplomacy screen
Keep up the good work brother ❤
This is literally what if Steiner counterattacked
Can't believe we have a upper head reveal in this video.
Love the disaster saves, taught me a lot.
To be honest, I use the desperate defense path of Mobile Warfare even when I'm winning. The boost to pop is great at least for when you're still in a bad spot. If I manage to reach the US I can switch, but having some more men to throw in the field is pretty useful when you don't want to go to Service by Requirement or All Adults Serve.
Also, this is one of those situations when I'd love to see some form of peace conference between the Axis and the US. I have no idea how you could go about at invading the US since you have a much smaller fleet.
It's almost like that branch allows you to get the extra manpower without the manufacturing hit the recruitment laws give. It's amazing that he doesn't realize this.
He have all dockyards of the continent and UK, few years of pumping screens, and US Navy isn't problem anymore.
@@MenRot Not to mention the naval bombers in storage.

33:16 my bro really just got so angry in that very moment, i feel him.
9:13 I always take this doctrine as German Empire and never have problems with manpower. And so far, I've never had a disaster like the one in the video. It's more a matter of experience.
33:25 it must have happened when you created the reichskommissariat in ukraine
When I got to the sponsor part of your video it sounded so much like just an ad when I wasn't watching😂😂
omg, what a ride, I really thought you would throw the towel after the naval invasion orgy. Honestly, learned a lot about perseverance and micro!
I love it when his voice goes angry for some reason lol
Honestly I would have never guessed BitterSteel was bald
Just beat the soviets for the first time as Germany, took me from 1943 until December 1948 to beat them, and I took around 5 million casualties, Italy got more war score then me, and as a result got more of Russia in the peace deal. The only way I was even able to win was from getting nukes and spamming them at the soviet lines over and over again to slowly advance towards Moscow. The allies were beaten by 1941, why are the soviets so dang hard? I was throwing my men into the meat grinder for 5 years making little progress until the nukes ramped up.
33:14 you can hear him raging HARD like he just wants to scream
80 factories on infantry equipment? That's when you know it's gonna be a truly terrible disaster
33:15 is truly a "nein nein nein nein nein" moment
Bro summoned the entire Turkish community reading Edirne like that.
24:35 reminds me of an old strategy from the 40s
This would be a weird world history. "We had the Germans beat but then they just suddenly turned into tactical geniuses and won"
You always say that the armor is saving you but with enough firepower in your infantry divisions you would do alright without tanks (and thereby without oil).
My favorite infantry-attack-division is a 44 to 45 width division with 13 inf battalions, 5 artillery battalions and 3 to 4 anti-air battalions (depending on technology to get >100 air attack) + support companies (artillery, rocket artillery, anti-air, engineer, logistics).
With the German industry and manpower you can convert an entire army group into that template by 1942.
thats why port defence is the second most important priority in hoi 4 after the frontal operations itself, the AI is dead set on throwing every single division that they have to perform endless naval invasions so the only way to deal with it is just keeping a full-fledged army on stand-by guarding the ports at all times. i've literally had the allies throw away their entire military trying to naval invade me in the late-game once which had allowed me to break the stealmate on the frontlines that we had cuz they started pulling away massive amounts of their divisions from the frontlines just to keep throwing naval invasions untill they ran out of manpower and said divisions
hoi4 is the kind of game where if you start losing that means you already screw up and that means you've already lost, theres little you can do once you're already losing
To be fair even though I feel like I lose sometimes the war always stays on the enemies turf.
and those naval bombers just gathered dust in their hangars
when the Fuhrer suddenly stops doing drugs and gets back to commanding the army
Desperate Defense is actually nice if you want to play with tanks but need also manpower
Bro...I can't imagine how painful this save was.
