This is perhaps the most practical RAV4 with the spare tire on the rear door. That cargo area is massive, also, three row RAV4, that's wild. Meanwhile today not even the Land Cruiser has a spare tire on the rear door smh.
2006 Rav4 V6 Sports has 259,000+ miles. Installed a back up camera that replaces the license housing few years ago and has lines in the rear view mirror. Love it. Good room for road trips for people in the back. Rear tire on the outside. The storage underneath the trunk is awesome.

@@BernonCarsI think it’s because Toyota realized giving out 270 horses in its smallest SUV was a little too far reaching. If you want this setup you will need to spend more money and buy their luxury brand, Lexus
Bought one of these a few months ago. Love it to death, great vehicle for offroading, and by offroading I mean driving in philly lmfao. I used to drive a Honda CR-Z but it got beat to hell in the city so this thing was a much needed improvement! Great vid
I had a 2004 Mazda Tribute for 18 years until it finally died earlier this year. My mechanic said if I wanted a used smaller SUV to stick with the 2010-2012 RAV4 or CRV due to their high reliability. Well, I bought a 2011 CRV first and drove it for a few months all the while eyeing up the RAV4s. Back in October I bought the same exact RAV4 that’s in your video. 2011 V6 Sport Appearance in silver. I still have both and I’m trying to decide which one I’ll keep. The Honda is so much nicer inside and gets a couple gallons better gas mileage (24 versus 22). But I really like the RAV4 as it reminds me of my Mazda, except it’s a lot faster! LOL Thanks for the review.
The stock ground clearance is only 7.5in but can fit larger tires for a 2in lift but there are no skid plates available. Great reliable 6.5sec quick all around SUV that gets 21-25mpg.
I love the wheels in the Sport trim vs Limited. I always thought about swapping them out. The v6 is strong but the 5sp-auto takes a sec to shift, which def hampers performance at the stoplight. I’ve done 80 mph on highways for hours and it didn’t miss a beat. The AWD isn’t as sophisticated as the Subarus but the momentum helps to shore that up with torque.
Great video! Here in New Zealand we get the Toyota Vanguard as a used import from Japan. I have a black 2008 V6 sport limited 7 seater and love it. They came with a navigation screen which has audio control and reversing and side mirror parking cameras as well as cd, minidisk and hard drive music play. These are great for our roads here which aren't as nice as the highways you have in the States. I've been looking for a newer vehicle recently but just can't find anything worth upgrading to as the Vanguard has it all really. I am considering lowering it slightly and changing the alloys as well as upgrading the infotainment system and speakers rather than purchasing a newer vehicle, maybe even get a vinyl wrap in mat black and grey lol.
I bought a 2009 V6 Limited AWD for my daughter as her first car. (Pretty nice first car, right?). It’s been a great car so far. I probably need to change the plugs on it soon and freshen up all the fluids.
I was tempted to get one of these when we bought a small camper (2800 lbs unloaded) this summer. In the end I got a GX470 to have a little more headroom in terms of towing capacity.

And I ended up purchasing one in 2018. At First I was suppose to get a 2012 RAV4 Limited in White but of course the dealer I went to didn’t make a good deal on the RAV4 in 2018 and the RAV4 was selling at the time for $21,000 with 25,000 miles on it. Was trying to get them to make a deal and bring the price down to $16,000-18,000 to fit in my budget of what I was approved by my bank with. But the dealer didn’t budge so I had to pass on it. Even though they’re basically the same car they’re are definitely some differences between driving the two like you covered in this video. Also like you had mentioned they feel faster at 50%-75% throttle than they do at 100% throttle which is a little weird.. but not the only car I’ve driven that feels that way. Also did you say you made a video about how exactly the 4WD/AWD system works in this car?
My wife and I had this RAV4 V6 Sport for 9 years, and it was her vehicle- it was certainly a blast to drive, engine wise, but the common transmission is really what held it back. All these reviews about rav4 v6 being "quick" only really apply for when there is only a single person (driver). If just one other passenger or a family was loaded in the car, the shifting felt even slower and and overall the car only felt marginally better than a four cylinder.
Love my 2010 Blizzard Pearl White V6 Limited awd with a130,000 miles on it. Just did the water pump. When they debuted in 2006 with the V6 they were faster than a Mustang GT 4.6L in the quarter mile. I prefer the rear spare as it adds even more rear end crash protection. I replaced my horns from a Sequoia. These could have been so much better if they got the 6 speed auto later on from the Sienna/HIghlander.
I have a 2007 v6 sport… one thing he mentions which I agree with is that these sport editions have stiffer shocks. Does anybody else notice this? I am not a fan of it… You can feel all potholes and ridges, bumps pretty hard. Does anybody recommend how to change this to a more smoother ride? I did change the struts shocks to KYBs supposedly OEM quality, but I am just not a fan when I feel all holes and ridges, bumps, just too hard.
