  • This video will help you to change the VRAM of AMD Ryzen's on-board Radeon Vega 8 iGPU. You can increase the VRAM of Radeon Vega Graphics from 2GB to 3GB or more & vice versa.

    Guys, I found out that now I am not facing any issues after allocating 4GB to the VRAM from my system's physical memory. Even there's an increase in the stability of the games that I've tested so far! So yeah, if you have 16GB RAM (2X8GB) on your system, then you can increase the VRAM to 4GB.
    But it also depends upon the Motherboard and its BIOS. So if your system is running stable with 4GB VRAM & 12GB Physical RAM, then go for it! ;)

    To anyone going here in 2024.
    Good and accurate tutorial. However. I suggest you:
    - 2GB or lower with 8GB.
    - 2 to 4GB for 12GB
    - 4 to 8GB (can be risky if you're Windows is full of bloatware taking more RAM) if you have 16GB
    - 8GB if you have 32GB

    In case anyone is using the Asus A520 Motherboard, you may or may not encounter a problem where CSM gets disabled for some reason which will prevent booting your OS and you'll be kept in the BIOS menu. To prevent it you just need to go to Boot setting re-enable "Launch CSM" and press F10.

If you download the AMD drivers from the site anyway, the driver will not work at all. Bro kindly check the manual of your motherboard. Also check for its latest BIOS updates.

      Yes Bro, you're right, but you need to first enable Above 4G Decoding and Resize Bar so that games can use more than 4GB VRAM if they need!
      Second, some Motherboards like the one I used in this video gives more performance if 4GB VRAM is allocated to the integrated graphics.
      Third, there are some motherboards like Asrock B550 Steel Legend which I have on my main PC, doesn't require to allocate the VRAM separately.

    everything is easy in a video like this. But in reality, no matter what my bios has, windows or amd driver controls vram. In bios i cant set anything from auto to 8gb, but still nothing will change in windows. Only way for me is to choose gaming mode or performance mode in adrenaline. This will mean 512mb-vram or 4gb-vram. I know 4gb is kinda ok, but i need to test 8gb for some progs i have, but i can't find a way. As i said, 8gb is available in bios...

    I have to disable the CMS to get 4gb Vram allocation. But If I disable CMS my pc doesn’t boot. What's the solution?
    My mobo is gigabyte Aurous B550M elite & my ram 16 gb one stick

    • @VendableCave
      @VendableCave  Год назад

      Bro after disabling CSM make sure to select the correct storage/boot device from the boot overdrive or boot priority section.
      Edit: Bro sometimes increasing the VRAM to 4GB doesn't work with single 16GB RAM as it is compatible with dual channel memory (like 2x16GB) in most cases. This could lead to system instability. So I would recommend you to add another same 16GB RAM which you're currently using. 😊 ♥️

    А есть ли разница в 64мб и в 8гб памяти ? я выставляю 8гб и 64мб и ничего не меняется

    • @VendableCave
      @VendableCave  6 месяцев назад

      Bro it means that currently 64MB is allocated from the system RAM to the iGPU VRAM. This mainly improves the '1% Lows', which results in more stability and smoother experience in game.
      Братан, это означает, что в настоящее время из системной оперативной памяти выделено 64 МБ для видеопамяти iGPU. В основном это улучшает «1% минимумов», что приводит к большей стабильности и плавности игры.

    Hello Bro. Nice video. I am a laptop user and planning to build a pc for the first time myself with ryzen 7 5700g, asrock b550m steel legend, 16x2 ddr4 and 512gb nvme ssd. It will be for video editing and casual gaming. Should I increase the Vram from the beginning and how much should I increase 4gb or 8 GB? And please comment about these specs. Will it be good for video editing and casual gaming?

    • @VendableCave
      @VendableCave  4 месяца назад

      Bro, what a surprise! This is the exact same PC that I built in April last year.
      Bro first of all you don't need to increase the VRAM manually on this motherboard. This is a very good motherboard! Just enable Above 4G Decoding and make sure Resize Bar is enabled. You might need to disable CSM manually first depending upon the BIOS version it already has. Rest, your system will automatically allocate 4GB VRAM to the iGPU.
      Also Bro what's the clock speed of the RAM Kit?
      Bro you can edit decent level videos upto 1080p without any issues.
      Bro I finished Gotham Knights, God of War, High On Life, Uncharted LOTC, etc. in Medium Settings at 720p using FSR Balanced. I got 30-60FPS in all these games. But remember that you cannot run newly launched games properly on this system like Dragon's Dogma 2, Alan Wake 2, Horizon II, etc.
      But don't worry Bro, you can always add any latest GPU in future to enhance your gaming experience.
      Also after installing the GPU, reset the BIOS to default, boot the system, then go to BIOS again and change the required settings and boot into the system to make everything stable.

      @@VendableCave Woww... I'm going to build same pc as yours 😂 Bro I'll get 3200 mhz ram with CL 16 or 18 as this cpu supports maximum of 3200 as per the Google.

      Great Bro! But Bro got with the 3,600 Mhz Model. It will boost the APU performance more.
      Yes you're right, but 3200 Mhz is only supported by the stock CPU frequency. When the CPU will boost itself beyond the stock speeds then the higher RAM clock speeds will help it a lot, which will also help in future.
      3,600 Mhz is a sweet spot, you can go beyond that too but it will have a tiny bit uplift performance, say it will provide around 1-3FPS more if you select 4000Mhz or more frequencies of RAM, so 3,600Mhz is a great price to performance ratio point.
