@@ashtonbeinfr I already have external keyboard at home. I'm talking about gaming on the go, am I supposed to carry an external keyboard everywhere just for occasional racing games because a laptop manufacturer didn't bother to make full size arrow keys on a GAMING laptop? Performance tests on battery would be a great addition to your reviews. There have been numerous cases where laptop A is faster than laptop B plugged in but is considerably slower on battery.
The best thing about this model is how it feels smart. It not only cut the corners that it should, but it cut them in a very deliberate, measured manner. The screen isn't the brightest, but it's bright enough. On the other hand, the color gamut is wide, it's shockingly well calibrated, and the refresh rate is more than good enough. The keyboard ain't Cherry ultra low profile, but it's not bad. It's alright. Same for the touchpad. The speakers are mediocre, but everyone uses headphones with laptops anyway. The GPU has a crucial 8 GB of VRAM, meaning it's not about to choke on the resolutions it's intended for like a certain other manufacturer's newest models. It's plenty fast enough for 1080p gaming- we are talking 60+ fps on Cyberpunk *while maxed out*! That's considerable horsepower. And the CPU, again, it's not the groundbreaking Dragon Range that can beat a latest gen 260W desktop i7, but it's *good enough*. This is not far from good desktop chips like the i9 11900 or i5 12600 or Ryzen 7 5800 or Ryzen 5 7600, and those are CPUs that will be plenty powerful for many years to come. Of course, the star of the show, twelve bloody hours of battery life. It's not the lighest, but you'd probably pay a dollar for every gram you shave off of it- would you rather pay another two hundred dollars for two hundred fewer grams? I wouldn't. And the more or less the same goes for the thickness- it's a bit chonky, but it's a far cry from the 4~5 cm thick chonkers that were common not too long ago. Would you pay a thousand dollars to shave off a centimeter of height? Again, I wouldn't. We don't know the price, but knowing how AMD systems are priced, and the mid-rangeness of it all, I'm going to guess something like 1200 USD? A great product, that delivers the most where it counts, and will deliver plenty of performance for years to come. As long as the price follows the previous trends, it's going to do all that for a value average people can actually afford. That's how you should do engineering. You make the right compromises. This is a modern, mid-range desktop computer- which, by today's standards, means it slays nearly anything you care to throw at it on 1080p- that you can carry on your backpack without trouble, that you can use all day long for day-to-day tasks and you are probably only going to pay a slight premium for this wondrous ability.
bro most laptops will get hot when performing at max, and that is part of the spec, as long as they don't throttle. if they are throttling, then its a model you shouldn't go for. but if its a beefy CPU and a strong GPU and they are pushing at max but are only 90C (which is below throttle limits... at least for the CPU) then that is what you want. it will get hot, but if you are able to get the max performance out of your machine which is in the spec then thats the most important thing. @@glitchparallax4215

Whats up with 1080p 165hz panels this year from many brands . if your going with 1080p , they should be matched with 240hz or 300hz . which were offerred by previous gen
I personally don't mind since you can not even reach 240Hz, even with some very high-end configs, unless you sacrifice image quality. And I would even say that most "casual" or even enthusiast gamers do not really "need" anything above 165 Hz. - Alex
I'm sure Alienware will put that out in the M17. The RX S model GPUs are lower wattage & more made for thin & light laptops with decent battery life. I'm sad they didn't release another G14 with AMD Advantage
7600s is above 4050 and below 4060 = we can call it as 4055 haha. As for R9, if you're looking for RDNA3 combo with 7600S/7700S, better get R7 775HS or wait for R7 7840HS combo... because AFAIK, R9 7940HS just slightly better than R7 7840HS.
7600s is in between the 50 and 60 series in performance, the 7700s is slightly better in most cases than a 4060 and can even reach 4070 levels of performance but thermals will not quite let it get there
@@NotebookcheckReviews I’m eyeing that 4060 model, the 4080 is far too expensive and the 4060 seems to get just as good as performance as a last gen 3070 even though it doesn’t touch the 3070ti.

This good and all but I’d like to see the max spec a16 , u know with the ryzen 9 and rx 7700s . And how it is comparable with the lastest 4000 series gpu of Nvidia.
Rx 7700s is somewhere in between the 4060 and 4070, in most cases faster than the 60 series but will thermal throttle before it hits 70 series performance, great gpu either way
That depends a lot on your monitor. Usually, DisplayPort gives you more flexibility with higher refresh rates unless your screen has an HDMI 2.1 as well. Freesync should work through either as long as your external monitor supports it!
@@NotebookcheckReviews Does USB-C to DisplayPort Adapter cable support freesync and qhd 100fps+? Is it better to use the laptop's hdmi 2.1 input or usb c 4 for displayport?
The 7700s and 4060 are within 1% of each other so it then comes down to cpu if you go with the r9 in the asus thats the better set up if your going for the r7 and the 7700s than the omen wins in cpu performance
Excellent laptop I like the Asus TUF A16 but I like the HP OMEN better screen and I like the design better and for the new cpu and amd gpu I don't see much difference with the previous ones, the HP screen has better brightness

I only experimented with Unreal Engine a bit, but I know you want as much GPU performance as possible. And I think, generally speaking, NVIDIA cards are a bit more optimized for UE(5)
I am pretty sure you can use most of the feature, but performance will probably be limited. I guess it depends on what you are planning to do. And again, I am not an expert on UE5
Still waiting for the F16 😂. Otherwise, this is definitely a decent mid range Advantage Edition for what it's offer. Although unsure if you should pay more for last gen CPU with this gen GPU.

The 7600s out performs the 4050, the 7700s config is within 1% of the 4060, it all comes down to cpu performance, the predator with see better cpu performance vs the 7350hs, however if you opt for the r9 zen 4 7700s set up it will out perform the predator in all areas

What can I play to start testing my computer, to know if my computer can work at its best? And another question. Is it normal for the keyboard to flicker when it is in standby and loading?
The TUF series are really good, bt i have an issue with its chassis having all its I/O on left side is a down vote for me.
It can be very annoying, that is true! Even if you are right-handed, it can make your setup very cluttered.
I bought this for $600, open box excellent. I'm excited to try it out!
That is a very solid deal! Congrats!
@@NotebookcheckReviews thank you. Although I noticed something strange about this that I believe is costing performance.
This laptop seems to have only one of two DIMMs occupied with a 16GB DDR5-4800 Module.
Due to how Ryzen works, wouldn't it be smart to add a second ddr5-4800 ram stick to boost performance massively due to increase memory bandwidth?
Absolutely! But it probably won’t be night and day difference!
We talked about a similar story in this bud:
HP Elitebook 845 G10 - the business notebook for everyone!

I am waiting for a 7840HS laptop with RX 7600M XT gpu. Now that will be an interesting combination.
I'm sure Alienware will put that out in the M17. The RX S model GPUs are lower wattage & more made for thin & light laptops with decent battery life. I'm sad they didn't release another G14 with AMD Advantage
Radeon rx 7600s is equal to which rtx 40 series nividia gpu? And is there any ryzen 9 cpu onces and release date in India and price plz?
7600s is above 4050 and below 4060 = we can call it as 4055 haha. As for R9, if you're looking for RDNA3 combo with 7600S/7700S, better get R7 775HS or wait for R7 7840HS combo... because AFAIK, R9 7940HS just slightly better than R7 7840HS.
7600s is in between the 50 and 60 series in performance, the 7700s is slightly better in most cases than a 4060 and can even reach 4070 levels of performance but thermals will not quite let it get there
Where can I find wallpaper as your laptop?
I want it.
Thank you in advance for the information.
Is this laptop good for music production?
how does the 7600s compare to the 7700s? I have the 7700s model and was wondering if its even much better
We only tested the Framework 16 with the 7700S:

Any news on when we will get asus g14 2023 reviews?
I am waiting to get it myself! We have big plans for that one (maybe it’s a giveaway, maybe it is not … ;))
@@NotebookcheckReviews I’m eyeing that 4060 model, the 4080 is far too expensive and the 4060 seems to get just as good as performance as a last gen 3070 even though it doesn’t touch the 3070ti.
What settings did you use for the battery test?
Would you recommend the highest spec version of this or the Corsair Voyager a1600 with the highest possible specs? If neither, what do you think is the best gaming laptop at $2,100 or under?
Well, the Corsair will give you a much more premium chassis better keyboard and screen, but it's also last year's tech and probably a lot more expensive?!
Unfortunately, we have not been able to test the highest spec of the A16 yet, so I can not comment on it!
@@NotebookcheckReviews the price gap isn’t that big, since on both Amazon and Best Buy, the highest config of the voyager is only $1,800

So can we tell that 7600S stronger than 6650M and 6700S, and very similar to 6800S ?
Basically yes! Raytracing is significantly better on the 7600s tho! We have port royal benchmarks on the website!
PLEASE REVIEW THE ZEPHYROUS DUO YOU SHOWED US LAST VIDEO!!! It's looks like a beast of a machine and I need to know if it's practical!

Hey brother I am planning to buy this on sunday how is this amd advantage version when compared to Asus TUF A15 rtx 4050? Does the amd radeon perform good than rtx 4050?
We did test the A15 with the RTX4050 as well, should give you some pointers:

Question, would you recommend this laptop for Motion designers? Can it run Adobe After Effects? I am considering getting this version over the ASUS TUF Dash 15 2022.
That is very difficult for me to answer since I do not know what after affects runs best on.
@@NotebookcheckReviews It runs best on Intel Macs and with the Intel Processors on PC. I heard the Ryzen 7 isn't good for rendering videos and it's very slow.
can you review the nvidia equivalent of this tuf's spec?
I am sure we will get in the studio at some point in the coming months!
This good and all but I’d like to see the max spec a16 , u know with the ryzen 9 and rx 7700s .
And how it is comparable with the lastest 4000 series gpu of
Nvidia.
You and me both! We do not know what is going on with those Phoenix CPUs! 🤷♂️
Rx 7700s is somewhere in between the 4060 and 4070, in most cases faster than the 60 series but will thermal throttle before it hits 70 series performance, great gpu either way
why do i like the fan noises? I just like them... Who else has this feeling?
I want to conect a external monitor on tuf a16, should i use hdmi 2.1 or usb c 4 for displayport ports? Will the The freesyn work?
That depends a lot on your monitor. Usually, DisplayPort gives you more flexibility with higher refresh rates unless your screen has an HDMI 2.1 as well.
Freesync should work through either as long as your external monitor supports it!
@@NotebookcheckReviews Does USB-C to DisplayPort Adapter cable support freesync and qhd 100fps+?
Is it better to use the laptop's hdmi 2.1 input or usb c 4 for displayport?
Can i change the wifi card on asus tufA16?
Do you think the high end SKU of this laptop can compete with a 4070 laptop (i.e 7940HS + 7700S)?
We can not say for sure since we haven't tested the 7700S yet!
The 7700s is within 1% (above or below in certain games) of the rtx 4060, the 4070 will outperform in nearly every situation
which do you think better this asus tuf A16 cpu with amd 7700s gpu or the HP Omen 16 cpu amd 7840 with gpu 4060 and display 240 hz
Good overall laptop but AMD advantage laptops with latest ryzen is ultra rare in my country (Malaysia). AMD need to release their damn products in more markets with timely schedule and not after 10-12 months after announcements.
Hi, is this the asus tuf A16 advantage edition ? Or just the tuf a16 ? And pls tell me that , is tuf A16 good in battery life?
sorry 6 months later its the advantage edition
Do you have any information on linux gaming support?
Unfortunately not! Sorry about that!
12 hour battery life Finally! Using the apu to game at 720p should result in 3 to 6 hours on battery depending on settings?
Interesting idea, it would be worth a try as soon as we get a similar config in the studio again.

Will it be hood for hame development like for running unreal engine 5 . I want to use every feature of unreal engine so will this laptop help me get a hand on them ?
I only experimented with Unreal Engine a bit, but I know you want as much GPU performance as possible. And I think, generally speaking, NVIDIA cards are a bit more optimized for UE(5)
@@NotebookcheckReviews is rtx 4060 enough for using all the features ?
I am pretty sure you can use most of the feature, but performance will probably be limited. I guess it depends on what you are planning to do. And again, I am not an expert on UE5
@@NotebookcheckReviews thanks for your advice
What about ryzen 7 7435hs
Can it give 240 fps with an external monitor ??
Still waiting for the F16 😂.
Otherwise, this is definitely a decent mid range Advantage Edition for what it's offer. Although unsure if you should pay more for last gen CPU with this gen GPU.
:D I must admit the F15 looks pretty beefy if they can price it competitively.
Buy this laptop, its a great value for the price, its actually on par with the 4060 gpu.
I wonder what its like to run Adobe Premiere Pro on this 😊

Any idea when are AMD Ryzen 7000 laptops available?
They should be available within the coming weeks!
Hey could u please help me choose from these 2 as I am unable to decide between them
1. Acer - Predator Helios Neo 16" -Intel i5-13500HX - GeForce RTX 4050 16gb Ram for 799$
2. or the Asus TUF A16 AMD-Advantage for 750$
considering no budget issue....

The 7600s out performs the 4050, the 7700s config is within 1% of the 4060, it all comes down to cpu performance, the predator with see better cpu performance vs the 7350hs, however if you opt for the r9 zen 4 7700s set up it will out perform the predator in all areas

Which one is a better choice ASUS TUF Gaming A16 with rx 7600s or ASUS TUF Gaming A15 with rtx 4050?
7600s outperforms the RTX 4050 in almost all use cases. Unless ray tracing matters to you
Only thing you’d be missing is frame generation from Dlss 3, other than that the 7600s is closer to a 4060

Yes, Asus page shows variants with Phoenix as well. Although, for most games it would not make a difference, as the bottleneck will still be on GPU.
