Maybe you guys are interested in their names? Starting at the beginning they are Simeon, Matthew (both soprano), Philipp and Ivan ( both alto). Hope I got the pitches right. The oldest boys are already out of the choir due to the voice change.

I remember singing Silent Night in German at my church at Christmas during the 1960's. We had very many German families in the town, in Wisconsin, where I grew up. I love this song. They sounded like angels!
Years back when I was a kid I remember watching the Vienna Boys Choir on a live broadcast from Vienna on Christmas Eve & Christmas evening. I wish they could bring that back as a Christmas tradition.

I am stationed in Ft Bragg, NC - there is a major road on post called Gruber Road - it always rang a bell to me, so one year I read up on it a bit. It was named after Brigadier General Edmund "Snitz" Gruber, an artillery officer who commanded the post when it was used as a US Army Field Artillery School in 1921. BG Gruber was musically talented, and wrote several pieces of military music - the most famous of which was the "Field Artillery Song" which eventually became the US Army Song "Over hill, over dale, we have hit the dusty trail...". Turns out that BG Gruber got it honest - his ancestor was Maestro Franz Gruber, who wrote the music to Silent Night.

WE first heard this fabulous choir live on their visit to Sydney, Australia, many years ago. They were amazing. More recently, we were invited to their church in Vienna by an elder of the church - the grandfather of a boy in my wife's class here in Sydney. What an exhilarating, spiritual experience this was - absolutely memorable. Just wonderful, and so astonishing they can maintain their wonderful reputation.

What a wonderful rendition of this timeless Christmas classic by the Wiener Sängerknaben. The harmony is beautiful. I only wish Peggy Wey-Ervin was still here to hear these talented boys sing. I remember when her two boys Terence and Lorin Wey were members of the choir. Terence was in the Schubertchor and Lorin the Mozartchor, if I remember correctly. Terence was allowed to record a solo CD project when Agnes Grossmann was director of the choir.
