The golden reminds me a lot of my white-bellied caique, who passed away. Seems like a bundle of just joy and fun. I was so happy when I found out they don't screech like sun conures... if there's one bird sound I will never stand for, it's the sun conure screech.
Some people are really not prepared for the sensitivity of the Golden Conures. They really need a lot of attention and love. Some are not able to know how to help them not pluck themselves.
Hahaha ya both our Blu Crown and Sun Conures love all of us , but if I leave the room they go crazy.I have to be within eyesight or they will scream for me
I don’t know about Golden but learned a lot about them. There were two things which were the key factors for me to decide on Cape: 1- loudness 2-mellow personality. I have Green Cheeks so I wanted to experience something other than Conure families and I feel I made the right decisions. But your video helped me tremendously. Thank you
You are so welcome! I love seeing pics of your Cape -- I agree, the mellow personality is what I call 'easy.' I feel like they are easy to live with and an absolute joy -- not that the Golden isn't wonderful too, but different.
I just put a deposit on my baby Cape, I love your videos, I was origionally thinking of getting a cockatoo(i grew up with them) but after seeing your videos I fell in love with the Capes, I was surprised to find a Cape breeder in my State with babies and felt it was meant to be lol
Awesome! You are going to love your Cape, no doubt. I have very little expperience with Cockatoos - one reason is the noise level; another is that they have high social requirements and it is hard for us, as humans, to meet them. Do you have other parrots? What state are you in? I'm always curious about where Capes can be found - I only know of FL, CA and NJ in the US. They seem pretty hard to find, so you did good! Are you getting a boy or a girl?
@@ParrotBliss I'm in SC. The breeder breeds several African Parrots(congos, timnehs, meyers and capes), she has meyers babies now too, which i hope to see when i go to pick up my baby cape. I had a parrotlet for 11 years that passed unexpectedly. Its been about 2 years and i was missing having a bird, im really looking forward to it!
@@shanarumph3345 So interesting that there is a breeder of African continent parrots in South Carolina! Keep me updated, I think you're going to love your Cape!
I'm in South Florida, so they are 'easier' to find. Still, not easy... Where do you live? I recommend taking a trip to South Florida and getting one here. Of course, you'd have to arrange it ahead of time and make sure that they are available.

I watch as many of your videos as I can find. Do you have one with a cape and a golden playing together? I have a 5 month old Golden and I am waiting for my Cape to be finished hand feeding.
I think so- but I’d have to search my vids. Apologies, I can’t now, tied up or I would. Thank you for watching! You are getting 2 of my favorite species!
Hi we just purchased a golden conure and my husband has fallen in love with a cape (and the love is mutual lol). They are both the same age, hatched the beginning of May. I wanted to know if they could be housed together provided the cage is large enough. If yes, how large a cage would you recommend? We love your videos and have been watching them constantly.
Just made a video for you about having a back-up cage :) Thank you for the compliment and for watching! You have to watch and make sure the get along. I would start in 2 cages until I see that they bond - this will not take away from the bond with you guys IF you spend plenty of time with them. Two of my favorite species!
My golden parrots feathers are fraying or shredding. I have tried everything I could find. Do you have any advice? I could send you a pix. I would appreciate any help or suggestions.
This is super helpful! We have a female cape and she’s become more of a one person bird and is good with my daughter and wife. We also have a Hybrid macaw and she’s the opposite. I’ve been debating a few options and have looked at the Golden Conure, Patagonian Conure, and then a few different cockatoos. Those being Major Mitchells(I’ve heard if you get them young and do lots of work with them they can be great) then Rose breasted, umbrellas and Elanoras. Unfortunately it’s hard to find them all in one spot to see what fits. Off of those do you have any recommendations for a bird that is very cuddly, good with multiple people? Thanks for this video too! It helped with knowing capes can be one person birds. I was devastated when she started leaning toward my wife haha

That gold color is so gorgeous! I thought sun conures were the most beautifully colored, but that gold color is just beautiful 🤩

How you compare noise level of Sun Conure vs Golden Conure
I’ve never had a Sun, So I don’t know 🤷♀️
Thanks

Do you sell Parrots in Florida?

Hello, I love your Golden Conure. Where might I get one? Have not been successful with my search.
Does he get along with the caiques
The Golden Conure? YES! Gets along with just about any bird or person. Great species!
