*love your commentary and videos. first video I’ve seen of yours yet but your spirit and compassion and kindness and patience for these amazing animals just shines through you. love seeing people like you! ❤️ those birds are very lucky to have you.*
What a beautiful bird. I’ve never seen one before. And I love his temperament. Relatively quiet and cuddly. Thanks for the video. I assume since they are rare, they are expensive?
hey there thanks for the video it was very helpful! i am considering the cape parrot but i go to school and i am 6hours away from home and i also live in a apartment.. do you think that it will be a problem? Also i want to free fly train him and i know that capes are very stubborn and they have their own mind so i am scared that he will just set a mind set and he will just not come ... So do you fink that i could manage this parrot when it comes to the "home alone time" and free flying time? Thanks a lot !
I am interested in getting one but I hear they are very destructive. Do you find destructive? Also I have GCC, Quaker and Budgies. Will he be ok being in the same play area? Thank you in advance for your response.
I'll work on a vid for you - but I find that my capes don't cause problems with other parrots, so I would definitely add one if I were adding to my flock.
Parrot Bliss I watched many of your videos. They are quite helpful. I think I will go w the Sam poi family but get a Brown Headed parrot. I don’t know anyone who knows well about this bird spices other than Facebook people!
Parrot Bliss quick question. The brown head breeder said he will leave the baby bird with the parent for about 3-4 weeks before hand feeding. Is it normal? Do you think the bird will still be tame? He would like to hand me the bird at 5 weeks when the baby is 2 feedings a day.
@@hikarusato5923 Yes, that's pretty normal. Actually, I prefer that the babies be with the parents for the few first weeks. It allows the babies to get an immune system from the parents. Also, if you can hand feed twice a day, it gives you a nice opportunity to bond with the bird. What state or country are you in?
can you make a video on how to stop tiels from plucking its mates feather .they mated a few times.. but i had to separate him and now he is so depressed
I’m wondering how do people get their cape parrots as they are illegal to trade, as they are one of the most threatened bird species in South Africa with between 500-1000 left in the wild? If you’re thinking of getting a cape parrot please don’t as it’s probably been sourced from the illegal pet trade having come from the already small wild population
That's right, they are endangered in the wild. Some species, like the Spinx Macaw, went extinct in the wild. If it weren't for people keeping them, breeding them and releasing them again, there would be no hope. If you aren't in accord with my channel, please don't watch.
@@ParrotBliss as long as their is a pet trade , there will be wild parrots taken from the wild for trade and breeding. Where do you think your pets originally came from. There is zero rellocation programmes for cape parrots. Real conservation would involve securing their wild habitat and not playing with them

It’s illegal for *wild caught* specimens to be transported from South Africa, captive bred imports are fine
Only 1800 alive in the wild. Criticallt endangred and should be in their afromontane forest not your lounge amusing you.
