Went after covid lockdown and watched a movie that had no script, but had a plane blowing up. Was deaf for a day after than. Can't recall the plot, or the name or purpose of the film, just the CGI plane explosion.
Oh well it was nice to have the whole cinema to myself and the family member I went with. I took earplug mufflers.
Ah for the days of ELOCUTION in acting.
Brando mumbling in the 50s ruined it.

I love, love,LOVE these old movies!! Thank you so very much for putting this on RUclips and perhaps you can find some more from this time frame. Enjoyed the movie with Robert Young and a young Dorothy Mcguire in the Claudia movie...I watched them in the 80's and was happy to view it again.
George Arliss was a great stage and screen actor of the early 20th century, unjustly forgotten today. Won the first Best Actor Oscar of the Sound Era for his 1929 Disraeli portrayal.

Boris Karloff once said this was one of the pictures he was most proud to be in as well as working opposite his acting idol, George Arliss.

20th Century was an interesting creation: Joe Schenck, one of the moneymen behind Loew's and MGM, helped finance Darryl Zanuck's new studio after he quit as head of production at Warner Brothers. Having a sequence shot in three-strip Technicolor was very expensive at the time. Zanuck did not have distribution on his own, using United Artists for this one, but would acquire one a year later as his studio merged with the floundering Fox Film and its' chain of theatres.
