- This is a 30 minute gentle chair yoga sequence done entirely in sitting.
We will breathe, set an intention, and flow through some gentle yoga poses, with some abdominal work! I will always leave a little bit of time at the end of practice for some relaxation.
This practice involves mostly upper body and core work, with a little bit of strengthening and stretching through the legs.
If there is a body part you are unable to feel or move very well, you can always chose to visualize that movement. This will exercise the area of your brain that is responsible for organizing information from that body part. It can be very useful to imagine moving areas of the body that can’t move, as it can help with pain, and with reorganizing brain networks.
Make sure you are sitting in a sturdy chair with no wheels. If you are in a wheelchair, lock your brakes. I recommend being in bare feet if possible, so you can get lots of sensory information through the bottoms of your feet, but if you prefer to wear running shoes, that also works! Socks can be slippery.

Hello! Have been following for some time, and really appreciate your classes. I have HSP and so work out most days. Thank you for this practice. I have a ruptured Achille’s tendon and just started the protocol with the elevated booth. I practice yoga regularly and I am delighted to have found you. The immobilisation in the booth has created some anxiety because my habit is to go to the gym 4-5 times a week. This practice at home helps with staying active and is good for my mental health. Do you have some of your programs to recommend that are a little harder? Thank you again….Johanne from Montréal.
